The hammer and the scalpel. Both have their uses!
CyberSkull 30th May 2012, 12:02 PM edit delete reply

Take the scalpel in one hand and place over the incision area. In the other take the hammer, pull back and swing mightily.
cattservant 30th May 2012, 12:49 PM edit delete reply

Very penetrating!
Centcomm 30th May 2012, 1:19 PM edit delete reply

yay, comments ! indeed "hammer" and "scalpel" very apt , it gets deeper trust me.
cattservant 30th May 2012, 1:29 PM edit delete reply

Thank you for sharing your fine story with us!

Is Cella a 'long time in service unit'? She seems a bit stiff in the imagination department.
Centcomm 30th May 2012, 1:36 PM edit delete reply

at this point in the story Cella has been active for over 10 years. she is very "by the book" and prefers to follow procedure to the letter , shes a numbers girl and doesnt interact with people much. but shes a 4-e the highest grade body avalable - mostly as a status symbol.
cattservant 30th May 2012, 1:46 PM edit delete reply

She and the Major do have compatibility!

Oh, a scalpel gets deep enough on its own... Unless you strike bone -- then the hammer can provide essential assistance ;-)

(And no, this is not supposed to be some kind of profound metaphor... Just some light-hearted fun about the choice of words :-) )

A little further out on the hammer and scalpel tangent, read this and the whole archive if you have the time and the taste.
Centcomm 30th May 2012, 2:01 PM edit delete reply

awesome comic , thank you for sharing !
very creepy and cool! heh as far as compatibility shes INT-Sec ( equal to CIA or NSA ) and hes MIL-SEC ( equal to combined forces military )
cattservant 30th May 2012, 2:05 PM edit delete reply

And they both highly value The Book!
CyberSkull 31st May 2012, 1:23 AM edit delete reply

The moral? Be very well armed around little girls in petticoats.
cattservant 31st May 2012, 5:40 AM edit delete reply

@CyberSkull: If you have the time to read the archives, she has several other memorable moments that will stick in your memory. Particularly about the tea cakes...
Marcus Ramesy 30th May 2012, 4:08 PM edit delete reply

I woudnt say he values the book more so as value the completion of the mission.. the book is more of a loose guide line...
cattservant 30th May 2012, 4:43 PM edit delete reply

Personality differences between human and android*?

*(More correctly here, gynoid.)
CyberSkull 31st May 2012, 1:25 AM edit delete reply

I would not say so. Have you ever dealt with a bureaucrat? Their adherence to the letter of all the regulations would make a more logical lifeform's head explode.
Centcomm 31st May 2012, 1:50 AM edit delete reply

That's so true.. hmm wonder if New troy has managed to fix any of that. Wait don't hold your breath.
CyberSkull 31st May 2012, 7:41 AM edit delete reply

Any AI vulnerable to paradoxes would soon be in a race condition after dealing with any bureaucracy.
cattservant 31st May 2012, 5:35 AM edit delete reply

The letter of the law gives them justification and satisfaction!*

*(And various other '-tions' best not to consider too closely!)
antrik 27th Apr 2017, 8:54 PM edit delete reply
Drones for scorched-earth? That sounds a bit unexpected, considering that as of today, most people seem rather to associate them with targetted killings...
