ACTUALLY I do know how hard it is to have lots of smart people around. My former profession was full of folks who were brighter than most light bulbs.
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 8:53 AM edit delete reply

as a former person in security smart people always think they know more than you and it makes it very hard to protect them when they do something dumb. :D
SpaceMonkey 18th Feb 2013, 5:16 PM edit delete reply

This is so true... as a former smart person working in dangerous situations it took me some time to accept that being smart doesn't beat experience and training in a particular area. Was too easy to think that the reason we're doing something in a way that seems more difficult was because they hadn't thought of my way, not because my way was wrong for reasons I didn't know :P
LooeyQ 18th Feb 2013, 8:43 AM edit delete reply

There's this place in Miami called chicken kitchen, a restaurant, and the owner claims to be "chief chickenologist" so I can see a drunkologist being a legit profession.
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 8:53 AM edit delete reply

hehe kudos go to rose for that one :D
I laughed my butt off on that one :D

I slightly panicked when I looked for this in the morning and there was no update!!
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 8:54 AM edit delete reply

sorry for the panic - been very busy. and I set the update apperently for next week. so it should be all fixed now. :P

Dolly should probably stop talking...D:

Unless hopefully, he'll think she's just in a drunken ramble and what she said is made up...>.>
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 1:33 PM edit delete reply

drunk people say the strangest stuff..
cattservant 18th Feb 2013, 10:35 AM edit delete reply

He's also a professional Intelligence Absorbist!
Stormwind13 11th Oct 2013, 9:33 AM edit delete reply

Dolly is leaking so much information that Breaker is going to double his body weight from the information he is absorbing. :-D I mean, GEEZ how many beans can you spill, Dolly? :-D
LurkerAbove 18th Feb 2013, 10:52 AM edit delete reply
... and maybe a friend of Lynn's late daddy ?
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 1:33 PM edit delete reply

perhaps.... :D
Stormwind13 11th Oct 2013, 9:34 AM edit delete reply

Friend, co-worker or rival. I'm sure he knows who he was at least. You could be on track though, Lurker. That would be something the EVIL CentComm would do. :-)

I believe he is that Fallon Banks guy Dolly just talked about...

rfaramir 18th Feb 2013, 12:57 PM edit delete reply
That's my guess, too. He didn't die, he 'died', i.e., got out of the business by faking his death to set up fresh on his own.

Either that, or he really did know him. Either as a competitor or an associate, partner maybe, even.

In fact, if Dolly's identification systems are fully operational, she should be able to tell if this guy is Fallon or not, unless his fresh restart was *really* good.
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 1:34 PM edit delete reply

right now she doesnt have acccess to certain things she did have facial recognition software being among them :D
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 1:33 PM edit delete reply

velvetsanity 20th May 2017, 12:49 AM edit delete reply

Dollys internal monologue is pretty intact and cohesive. Somewhere along the line the train of thought derails before it gets to her mouth! I bet that's going to get really irradiating very quickly!
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 1:35 PM edit delete reply

well her mental thoughts are pretty cohesive. but her body isnt quite as in sync :D
lalverson 18th Feb 2013, 1:26 PM edit delete reply
Herding cats is easier than herding smart people.
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 1:35 PM edit delete reply

I think you are right.
Dragonrider 18th Feb 2013, 2:06 PM edit delete reply

The easiest and safest way to herd either is with nuclear weapons, in this case Orbital Cannon.
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 7:10 PM edit delete reply

i totally agree...
cattservant 18th Feb 2013, 2:30 PM edit delete reply

Cats have to be 'presented with opportunities'...
Stormwind13 11th Oct 2013, 9:38 AM edit delete reply

Herding cats is EASY, lalverson. Just put out plenty of tuna where you want the cats to get to and stay out of the way. :-D

Herding smart people on the other hand... There isn't ONE thing they all like (well unless they are all of the same type of smart). Putting a rocket motor test out would probably draw all the rocket scientist; however, a lot of the biologist would probably not be attracted to it. :-D
Rashala 18th Feb 2013, 5:25 PM edit delete reply

Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 7:10 PM edit delete reply

hehe
CyberSkull 18th Feb 2013, 6:02 PM edit delete reply

Like I said, the best interrogation drug.
Dragonrider 18th Feb 2013, 6:51 PM edit delete reply

Don't think Breaker is Fallon Banks, Dolly would have recognized him, even with surgery, when you have been as close to someone as Dolly was to the family you're gonna recognize the mannerism, voice inflections etc. Besides he was shot in front of his wife, child and Dolly, she gave Calliope a "bitch slap" to get her to stop crying, handed her Lynn took Fallon's gun plus her's, charged the Gutters wiping them out She gonna remember the person he was.
Either Breaker was the CO or Fallon was and the other was the XO of the Merc company. Word of Fallon's death may have prompted Breaker to get out alive.
Centcomm 18th Feb 2013, 7:10 PM edit delete reply

and there we go, you are dead on mark for most of that :D
Dragonrider 18th Feb 2013, 8:06 PM edit delete reply

AH Gee Teach do I get a gold star? Or a lap dance from Dolly.
cattservant 18th Feb 2013, 8:21 PM edit delete reply

Hold out for a bottle of the green stuff!
Stormwind13 11th Oct 2013, 9:42 AM edit delete reply

I have to wonder if he got out before that, Dragonrider. I'm thinking maybe he got out because he lost out on the affections of one Calliope Taylor to Fallon. Couldn't take being around what he couldn't have so he walked away to soothe the heartache with all the pretty ladies he could collect.
mushroomisland 19th Feb 2013, 1:41 PM edit delete reply

Eh, and she spills it :P
xpacetrue 5th Apr 2014, 12:44 AM edit delete reply
Knowing what we know now (like a Taylor being able to override Cent's systems), I'm shocked that Cent-Com allowed any Taylor to go ANYWHERE without at least one bodyguard at all times - from BIRTH. That's almost like leaving a key to your kingdom in the public restroom, with only security cameras to guard it. And if the ENTIRE Taylor family insists on going into the wastes to dig up ruins, there should be no less than three top-of-the-line bodyguards for each person AND a Mil-Sec team secretly watching for trouble from a small distance. Anything less is just stupid.
Mark_L_A 30th May 2015, 8:14 AM edit delete reply

As for herding smart people, been there done that. Just loved being treated with condescension or like a piece of furniture.

The super smart people though, for the most part were always unfailingly polite to a fault, but if you didn't watch out for them, they could quite easily walk into traffic while they try to talk on their phone or have a conversation with someone else.

And I HATED escorting the daughters of really rich people. I wasn't there to carry baggage or shopping bags, I needed to keep my hands free. You can't reach for your asp, pepper spray or your pistol with your hands full of Sak's bags or a makeup case the size of the presidents nuclear football.

Sooo glad I got out of security and law enforcement when I did.
