I really like the outfit of hat/long jacket/scarf face guy.
It makes me wonder what he's hiding (or maybe he just can't tan).
Centcomm 18th Apr 2013, 10:25 PM edit delete reply

hehe - Or he doesnt want to be recognized...all of them are wearing some sort of face covering..
Vivocateur 18th Apr 2013, 10:32 PM edit delete reply

But why would they want to conceal their identities?
Clearly these are men of impeccable ethics who have never made an enemy in their lives.
Centcomm 18th Apr 2013, 10:35 PM edit delete reply

Oh, you sir are tooo funny :D
Mister Black 19th Apr 2013, 1:28 AM edit delete reply

Anybody can tan...you just need a sufficiently powerful source of UV.

Draginbeard 19th Apr 2013, 12:53 AM edit delete reply

Ah yes, the man with the hat, coat, and scarf.

On earth that was, there be a legend, a myth of an evil man who did terrible things. One day something profound happened to this man, he turned from his evil path and instead confronted those that would prey upon their fellows.

Armed with a sharp mind, a pair of pistols and the cover of darkness, the man struck hard and true. None escaped his righteous wrath, for he knew what evil lurks in the hearts of men.

I'm going to go ahead and say that THIS guy right here in the hat, ain't the same guy.
cattservant 19th Apr 2013, 1:13 AM edit delete reply

Muhwahahahahahaha!!!
velvetsanity 19th Apr 2013, 5:25 PM edit delete reply

I'm going to say he's also not a certain nameless Gallifreyan with a police call box
CyberSkull 19th Apr 2013, 2:08 AM edit delete reply

How many caps will their slightly bloody/burnt (yah know, normal) gear fetch at the local store?
Centcomm 19th Apr 2013, 2:10 AM edit delete reply

someone played fallout 3 MUHHAHAHA! ( Quite a bit actually .. )
CyberSkull 19th Apr 2013, 11:27 PM edit delete reply

After each fight I'd repair scavenged equipment to carry less, and leave to sell when my weight limit is reached.
Centcomm 20th Apr 2013, 1:11 AM edit delete reply

I did the same thing :D I need to play that again...
Sheela 20th Apr 2013, 4:16 AM edit delete reply

Did much the same thing in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

There was a stash in the 100 Rads bar which I filled to the brim with spare armor, ammo and weapons. I had enough in there to start a small war. :D
CyberSkull 20th Apr 2013, 5:07 AM edit delete reply

So the first skill I end up maxing out is repair, which keeps me both fighting fit and eventually rolling in caps when I sell off fully repaired bandit equipment.
Centcomm 20th Apr 2013, 5:27 AM edit delete reply

I love repair skill that and armor skill - so I can use the power armor as fast as possable
Sheela 20th Apr 2013, 7:36 AM edit delete reply

Heh, somsone ought to make a packrat/scavenger game in a postapocalyptic world.
Centcomm 20th Apr 2013, 7:47 AM edit delete reply

they did .. fallout 3 .. I had the apt in megaton filled Litterally filled with junk.. so much so that it was piled in the game .. and with repair skill it was all in excellent condition. but then I took everything that wasnt nailed down.. and a few that were...
Sheela 20th Apr 2013, 7:56 AM edit delete reply

Not quite what I meant ... Fallout 3 was still a fighting game at it's core.

I mean, a game where scavenging was the primary purpose.

Imagine this - You are the new and upcoming chieftain of a little rural post apocalyptic settlement, as your dad is growing old it's time for you to show your worth. What you need to do, is make sure the city has food for winter, that you have spareparts for the electrical generators, that you have tools to make the spareparts and so forth.

Now, in a post apocalytic society, resources are scarce, so you have to go and scavenge for them, maybe dragging a small cart after you with stuff in it.
Offcourse, every now and then, you'll come across people from other factions / settlements who may have just what you want, so you could try and trade for them, or steal them, or pickpocket them, or kill them .. or maybe even seduce them and steal everything from them while they sleep, or, if you can't seduce them, get them drunk and strip them bare while they're passed out.

to be able to make them that drunk though, you'd have to increase your own alcohol resistance ... by drinking. :D

Add in a mallable world, sort of like how you can make your own farms in minecraft - and you could build your settlement as you go along, and invite new people to the settlement. Maybe add a city wall, to keep critters out. Build a health clinic. Stuff like that.

I think there would be more people than just me, who would enjoy a game like that.
Raw survival, and developing your settlement.

You could have some missions along the way that could have a main story arch added into it, like ... inventing a retrovirus to stop mutations from happening and save the human race .. stuff like that. Kinda like "never mind the gap" concept, but more mutant/post apocalyptic/cyberpunkish.

... ok ...

I'm done now, I think. :D
Centcomm 20th Apr 2013, 11:29 AM edit delete reply

heheh im familar with never mind the gap actually. *winks* that all sounds very cool. too bad none of us are game designers ...
Sheela 20th Apr 2013, 11:38 AM edit delete reply

Centcomm 20th Apr 2013, 11:42 AM edit delete reply

Rashala 19th Apr 2013, 4:15 PM edit delete reply
