Just leave the driving to the andies and quit back seat driving!
No it isn't natural for primates to wear clothes, so take them off so I don't strain my x-ray vision. :P
Stormwind13 1st Dec 2013, 9:55 PM edit delete reply

LOL Dizzaster. I like this answer. :-D
cattservant 1st Dec 2013, 9:58 PM edit delete reply

'Primate' is so much more refined than 'meat sack'...
highlander55 1st Dec 2013, 10:45 PM edit delete reply

The Androids are built in our image. Would they be finicky like a cat about going nude all the time? Of course the fashion houses would be out a jobs, But the towel industry would be rich!
Tokyo Rose 2nd Dec 2013, 6:47 AM edit delete reply

Quite a bit more refined than "meat sack". You can tell that Krystal there is in the public relations biz.
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 1:51 AM edit delete reply

Actually in this case they are leaving the driving to Robots :D but same idea :D
Sheela 2nd Dec 2013, 5:00 PM edit delete reply

Who cares about the driving, someone mentioned lack of clothes .. make it happen! XD
cattservant 1st Dec 2013, 9:16 PM edit delete reply

On time page
With lots of
psychologically revealing
Dialog!

[Or I'll show you my 'bolts'
If you show me your 'monkey'!]

VOTE....VOTE....VOTE.....LOST 15 PLACES SINCE SAT EVENING.....

I was kind of hoping Miri had grabbed ahold of Krystal and was squeezing her for dear life.

*Raises Hand* Ktystal just said something that is making all kinds of bells to start ringing she said "This is not even a main artery." Now if they are going to the residences of the most high and mighty why are they on back roads. The high and mighty expect to move on the fastest newest roads available, Perhaps there is a sec force security facility at the end of this back route and it is part of Helios Towers, with that as the actual destination. After all Krystal only said she was to take her to the towers, she said nothing about taking her to Taylors residence. I know, I know I see boogeymen behind every potted plant however better safe than sorry. Especially when dealing with and AI that is close to possibly loosing a few circuits due to over extension of facilities that needed upgrade 10 years ago?
cattservant 1st Dec 2013, 9:55 PM edit delete reply

The TWC vote # always fluctuates on the first of each month. It was 68 or so early this morning!
However, dedicated voting will soon put it right.
Stormwind13 1st Dec 2013, 9:58 PM edit delete reply

Actually Dragonrider, I can think of a reason. If traffic into the Platinum Sector is fairly sparse, you might not want to advertise where you are going by taking the most direct route there. By keeping any potential adversaries guessing until the last minute, you might keep them from arranging anything unpleasant toward said visitors.
cattservant 1st Dec 2013, 10:09 PM edit delete reply

Wouldn't want any unnecessary random elements interfering with your own arrangements.

[Of course we now know Androids get frustrated,
So maybe Krystal is taking a rare opportunity
To "At your service" with Mira the out-of-towner.]
Stormwind13 1st Dec 2013, 10:25 PM edit delete reply

I'm kind of doubtful of that, Cat. I mean, Mira was pretty nice to her. Treating her alright, I think Krystal is trying to take the best care of her; however, their perceptions are so different that they are running into problems. :-)
cattservant 1st Dec 2013, 10:29 PM edit delete reply

Most likely.
And Androids would be less inclined to consider things outside their routines without an immediate stimulus.
Dragonrider 1st Dec 2013, 10:13 PM edit delete reply

At this point until Mira is actually face to face with Calli I won't let loose of the presumption that skullduggery is afoot amount Centcomm and her minions.
Stormwind13 1st Dec 2013, 10:31 PM edit delete reply

Not a bad idea Dragonrider, when dealing with CentComm, though I still think she is more limited than people realize in what she can and cannot do to 'visitors'. :-)

Guess we will wait and see with great anticipation.
highlander55 1st Dec 2013, 10:51 PM edit delete reply

@ Dragonrider-- Small road could be possible due to when that area was built it was the only compound area and had a smaller footprint for the Tower. No need for large roads due to close proximity of the compound. The rest of the city was built for different reasons so needed large roads to accommodate the population. My 2 Cents!
Dragonrider 1st Dec 2013, 11:27 PM edit delete reply

True but I'm alive today because I looked for boogeymen behind flower pots, garbage cans and in other places. Remember Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they really aren't out the get you. Besides, our authoress could have taught Machiavelli a few things about devious.
Tokyo Rose 2nd Dec 2013, 6:49 AM edit delete reply

I've just gotten a huuuuuge compliment from Dragonrider. I'm going to go in the other room for a while where nobody can see me.

Dragonrider 2nd Dec 2013, 10:32 AM edit delete reply

De Nada Cheela you and Centy deserve it.
Stormwind13 2nd Dec 2013, 6:56 PM edit delete reply

O.O

A Happy Feral Rose?!?! Is the world coming to an end? :-D
highlander55 2nd Dec 2013, 7:32 PM edit delete reply

Rose-- All I can say is TMI.
velvetsanity 2nd Dec 2013, 1:01 AM edit delete reply

'Main artery' here refers to the expressways and beltways. Specifically, those routes that are most subject to rush hour traffic jams. The "high and mighty" rich people NEVER live near those routes. It's a NIMBY thing. Rich neighborhoods are always relatively lower traffic areas away from the major congestion, so they don't have to deal with being stuck in traffic so much.
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 1:56 AM edit delete reply

Mira is hanging on for dear life to the bottom of the seat - I couldnt really show that due to the angles I shot at .. >_<

Storm seems to have nailed the lesser traffic reasons ie : plat sec simply doesnt have high volume traffic .

To others: TWC always takes a hit on the first and the comic generally takes a hit on holodays.. >_<

And yes Krystal could be taking a few frendly pot shots at the waster. :D

Velvet also has the right idea..
Dragonrider 2nd Dec 2013, 10:31 AM edit delete reply

But I notice you don't directly deny any of my concerns.
velvetsanity 2nd Dec 2013, 3:21 PM edit delete reply

It'd be a spoiler if she confirmed or denied anything...
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 4:05 PM edit delete reply

exactly .. im like the NSA on this ( and rose would murder/kill/maim me if i gave away too much info ..
Dragonrider 2nd Dec 2013, 4:31 PM edit delete reply

NSA?? No Such Agency, is what we were told back in the day.
Sheela 2nd Dec 2013, 5:08 PM edit delete reply

Wait .. wait .. Roses can make squee sounds? :D

Damn nature, you scary!
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 5:29 PM edit delete reply

you didnt know roses Sqee'ed? HAH well now you know :D
Sheela 2nd Dec 2013, 5:32 PM edit delete reply

Indeed.

I only thought they made yelps of pain with their thorns - But then it turns out she's not that prickly after all. :)

Edit :
I just had a thought or two about what Rose might be, and it occurred to me that she could conceivably be a banker!

image

We are on to you Rose! >:)
cattservant 2nd Dec 2013, 10:47 PM edit delete reply

How many tentacles does Rose's sqee'ed have?
Sheela 2nd Dec 2013, 11:10 PM edit delete reply

At least five, and 3 of them were eating chocolate fudge. :D
Stormwind13 1st Dec 2013, 10:06 PM edit delete reply

LOL CentComm... You are EVIL. Poor Mira, 20 whole centimeters, that is less than 8 inches! :-D NOT a great margin for error and Mira knows it too.

I think Mira is about to do some stress testing of Krystal's frame, if she doesn't calm Mira's fears down a tad. :-D It might be 'irrational' but it isn't unjustified from Mira's experiences. From Mira's standpoint it IS extremely unnatural to allow computers to run that much of your life. Wastelanders are far to independent and self-reliant to yield that much control to a computer, no matter who was in charge of it. So the reactions are all about perceptions, and the differences between Krystal's and Mira's. :-)
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 1:56 AM edit delete reply

yes - Mira really is unnerved by all the automation :D
anarcha 1st Dec 2013, 10:55 PM edit delete reply

Backseat driver issues, can't escape 'em.
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 1:56 AM edit delete reply

Nope :D
Draginbeard 2nd Dec 2013, 1:48 AM edit delete reply

I think someone needs to Vulcan nerve pinch Mira!
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 1:57 AM edit delete reply

I think so too .. :D poor Mira..
Tokyo Rose 2nd Dec 2013, 6:50 AM edit delete reply

If only they'd gotten one of the really good VIP cars with the mini-bar. Mira could be knocking back those tiny bottles of vodka three at a time.
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 4:06 PM edit delete reply

I think shes gonna want a drink when she gets to her destanation ,.. or three..
Sheela 2nd Dec 2013, 5:09 PM edit delete reply

Unfortunately .. there's a tax on that. XD
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 5:29 PM edit delete reply

Ohhhh someone that remembered !!
Sheela 2nd Dec 2013, 5:31 PM edit delete reply

But offcourse ... hmmm ... there might be a tax on memory modules too. :D
highlander55 2nd Dec 2013, 7:35 PM edit delete reply

There's a synth alcohol too if I remember correctly!
Dragonrider 2nd Dec 2013, 8:40 PM edit delete reply

Tell me..is the tax on alcohol considered a Syntax?
Tokyo Rose 2nd Dec 2013, 8:47 PM edit delete reply

Ha ha ha ha ha GET OUT. ::cocks shotgun::

(that was a really good pun. but we must have standards hereabouts. ;D)
Dragonrider 2nd Dec 2013, 9:55 PM edit delete reply

Put the shotgun down, I've got a book of puns and limericks and I know how to use it.
Sheela 2nd Dec 2013, 11:12 PM edit delete reply

*looks at Rose in horror*

ROSE !!
What did those poor cocks ever do to you to deserve THAT??
Stormwind13 2nd Dec 2013, 11:23 PM edit delete reply

Showed up uninvited, Sheela? :-D She taught them to fear the Feral Rose. :-D
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2013, 1:17 AM edit delete reply

Breath?
velvetsanity 10th Jun 2017, 11:17 AM edit delete reply

They reported her little B&E at the Riverwood Trader to the guards. ("I used to be an adventurer like you...")
Stormwind13 2nd Dec 2013, 11:20 PM edit delete reply

I shouldn't be worried too much about her shotgun, Dragonrider... They don't build guns with the care and craftsmanship like they used too. Far too many modern firearms show signs of shotty workmanship. :-D
Dragonrider 3rd Dec 2013, 12:34 AM edit delete reply

Yeah shoddy workmanship but they still make damn good clubs to beat someone to death with in the last resort.
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2013, 1:16 AM edit delete reply

oh boy she yanked out the shotgun - dives for cover.. AHH!
Rashala 2nd Dec 2013, 4:22 AM edit delete reply

*sighs even in the future AI has not learned. HUMOR THE HUMAN!!!*
mjkj 2nd Dec 2013, 4:56 AM edit delete reply

Awww...

Poor Mira *hugs her*

...and Krystal is so relaxed... :p

I like it :D
Rashala 2nd Dec 2013, 7:49 PM edit delete reply

of course she is relaxed She's a Cybornetic lifeform. They crash she just reloades toa new body no fuss no muss...Mira...well She only gets a new body if you believe in reincarnation
Marcus Ramesy 3rd Dec 2013, 4:26 PM edit delete reply

sadly dead.. is dead.. even for a cybernetic life form.. the whole reload that happens is not a normal thing.... its reserved for the really special.. or the rich and privileged, or just happen to be near some one who is.. or they happen to have very good insurance
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2013, 5:08 PM edit delete reply

The likelyhood of Kristal getting flashed in a car accedent is pretty low. but yes if she were injured in a car accedent and "killed" that would be it , done and done.
KarToon12 2nd Dec 2013, 1:06 PM edit delete reply

Don't worry; I know how she feels. This is why I hate flying.
Centcomm 2nd Dec 2013, 4:05 PM edit delete reply

I hate flying too >_<
Rashala 2nd Dec 2013, 6:08 PM edit delete reply

personally I love to fly though.... I'd prefer a more self propelled way ALa jetpack or somesort of device
Stormwind13 2nd Dec 2013, 6:58 PM edit delete reply

Flying doesn't bother me... It is worrying about a sudden STOP at the end that bothers me. :-D
Rashala 2nd Dec 2013, 7:48 PM edit delete reply

That's FALLING not Flying
Stormwind13 2nd Dec 2013, 8:08 PM edit delete reply

Flying is throwing yourself at the ground and MISSING, Rash. Don't you know that? :-D I'm just afraid I might not miss. :-)
Rashala 2nd Dec 2013, 8:13 PM edit delete reply

Oh please. I can't go that way. I am so contrary by nature you throw me in a black hole and I go flying away from it faster than light
Sheela 2nd Dec 2013, 11:26 PM edit delete reply

In the words of Jeremy Clarkson:
"Speed never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you."
Stormwind13 2nd Dec 2013, 11:29 PM edit delete reply

Exactly, Sheela. :-D
cattservant 3rd Dec 2013, 4:52 PM edit delete reply

Or;
What is the last thing
That goes through a bug's brain
When it hits a windshield
At sixty miles per hour?
Dragonrider 3rd Dec 2013, 8:47 PM edit delete reply

His Hemorrhoids.
cattservant 3rd Dec 2013, 8:56 PM edit delete reply

I was hoping someone knew the 'polite' punch line.
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2013, 1:17 AM edit delete reply

Or "falling with style" LOL till the stop at the end..
jamie59 2nd Dec 2013, 5:44 PM edit delete reply

Stormwind13 2nd Dec 2013, 7:09 PM edit delete reply

well yeah that they are :D
Hornet 3rd Dec 2013, 1:10 PM edit delete reply
Keep you're hand on the wheel cause you never know when the over-mind might decide you look better in red spread over a kilometer. Yes I like technology and robotics but free thinking machines not so much.
antrik 10th Oct 2016, 12:46 AM edit delete reply
The probability of what exactly is 0.001%? Them getting into an accident on this particular trip? That would be somewhat high actually... Still lower than on current-day earth by an order of magnitude or so I'd guess; but not as low as it sounds.
