Only if you know how to properly use it, Rose. A great many people inject random objects/people with flying lead because they don't know how to employee it against the proper target. :-p
Hey, both my arms can testify to the scaring of hypo spray inoculations from when I got my overseas shots. The Army was using the first gen spray technique instead of walking down a line of corpsmen with needles they all had injector guns and "forgot" to tell us to keep arms muscles tense talk about sore and big damn scars from the injections.
yeah - Military injector guns are not quite as advanced as this thing. it uses a low pressure spray and a trans dermal carrier to transfer the chem . mind you this doesnt work for mass fluid replacement or volumes of drugs over a certain amount .. but the amount of Regenerex needed is about 4 "units" of liquid it is a very tiny amount. and there is some acceleration to help the pass though but it does very little trauma if any ..
The fix for a cold is simple John... Get plenty of fluids and sleep. It will be gone in a week or so (if your immune system isn't completely screwed at least). :-D
You are the cure for the common cold, Sheela? I thought you would be more about CAUSING it then fixing it. Dragging unsuspecting people out into the snow and rain to get your walks in. Then when they get back inside, making sure to shake off the excess water all over them (after they have taken off their winter gear). :-D
Q: You are afraid of needles, correct? But you would rather get shots from a needle than from a hypospray (jet injector) in the shape of a gun? Keep in mind that the jet injector is noninvasion (does not penetrate the skin) and is not so painful.
BTW: These comments reminds me of my dad, who would joke about shots with giant needles "this long", and "square" instead of round. :D
It wasn't a joke the square needle in the left###. Todays Hyposprays maybe painless bur I damn well guarantee the first gen weren't, and from comments I heard years later the 2nd and 3rd gen were not painless either just faster than the old nedle.
Hey im scared of needles as well. so I totally feel your pain on that. im actually rather terrified of them Rose can tell you how i acted during my blood draw - it wasn't pretty and she was perfect.. ( the person that drew the blood .. )
When growing up I never had a problem with needles. As a teenager, I had to get the BCG vaccine and that *hurt* so I've been nervous around them ever since.
Years after that a nurse told me that the BCG has to be done in such a way to leave a scar (as a visible sign to other medical professionals) that it had been done.
A friend of mine will black out from Needles - he isn't afraid of them, but he will black out from them.
He says the last thing he remembers before fainting is an immense hatred and an overwhelming need to attack whoever is stabbing him, and then it goes black.
After a quick chat with a shrink, he was told that basically his mind gets into a tiff with itself, because "someone is hurting me, ATTACK!" versus "Hey, it's my doctor, I can't attack him" and he locks up and so his brain basically does a quick reboot.
for me the very thought of something going under my skin and injecting or taking stuff out gives me the screaming whim whams - even talking about it or setting up a scene in daz affects me. and yeah im really happy rose was there with me at the blood draw :D
I'm glad I like Italian... Make sure to keep PLENTY of garlic in the blood stream. :-D
I've got a button that pretty sums up my attitude about vampires - I don't hate vampires. I just don't like anything that is HIGHER on the food chain than I am. :-D
I recently stumbled upon Data Chasers and am now enthralled by the story and characters. The world, art, and dialog are glorious!
So I've been reading through the archives at lightning pace because I can't tear myself away, and the updated page 116 is still quite fresh in my memory. Did they end up becoming complete primitives after all?
I have encountered pairings of excellent doctors who had significant disagreements on technical details like this before.
Sometimes, if you get the one who uses the newer technique that the other one claimed was problematic in some way after the one using the older technique gave their schpiel, you can talk with them about it and learn some subtle change in the technique that gets around the problem the first was concerned about.
But if you get a more run of the mill doctor, they'll use the newer technique without the little tweak... or they'll use the tweak without being aware of it... or they'll use the older technique without being aware there's an update... or without having looked into the update despite knowing about it.
Different people are different, and this applies to doctors, too. There are undoubtedly even scenarios for the new/old technique I've not outlined above, including ones I haven't encountered or thought of.
*hugs her*
...seems like Sassy is one of her royal names...
...at least she gets the treatment without the stinky stuff.
That cold treatment seems to be fast working - I am glad that Lynn will be fine again soon.
...that injector looks quite like a gun. I wonder if they could disguise A's gun as an injector?
Me me me !

Works every time. :)

... oh, for a moment there I thought you said that Rose was perfect. :)
Meanwhile, more needles !
Years after that a nurse told me that the BCG has to be done in such a way to leave a scar (as a visible sign to other medical professionals) that it had been done.
Then I saw how Cent reacts to needles.
That made me realize that I am not "afraid" of needles; I just don't like them.
(I stood on Cent's near side and said "LOOK AT ME, DON'T LOOK OVER THERE, LOOK AT ME" a lot. Along with "STOP HOLDING YOUR BREATH".)

This is also why sometimes we loose a few readers, every now and then.
