Crushed his skull with his fist. Damm!!
Centcomm 25th May 2014, 9:16 PM edit delete reply

Yeah - squish ! its kinda hard to see hes actually plaming the guys face and slamming him into the wall :D
Sheela 26th May 2014, 12:43 PM edit delete reply

plaming ?
anonymous coward 26th May 2014, 12:53 PM edit delete reply
Typo of "palming" as in holding something with one's palm.
Sheela 26th May 2014, 2:02 PM edit delete reply

Ah, thank you anonymous coward. :)
anonymous coward 28th May 2014, 1:19 AM edit delete reply
No problem, I have to prove that editors are useful; otherwise I'm slacking off instead of working right? ;)
Rashala 25th May 2014, 9:29 PM edit delete reply

Yeah........MAx is So not getting that cleaning deposit back on that place
Centcomm 25th May 2014, 9:30 PM edit delete reply

not sure hes caring about that right now LOL :D
Stormwind13 26th May 2014, 6:50 AM edit delete reply

I'm sure, CentComm. Maxus couldn't care LESS about that deposit!!!

I'm not sure that WALL is still going to be there. I'm thinking he is going to keep pushing that guy (well his BODY at least) until it comes out the other side of the wall. And yes, I think it is a seriously thick wall, but Maxus is even MORE seriously pissed! :-D
Rashala 26th May 2014, 5:21 PM edit delete reply

a Side note. This is Maxus when Fully pissed..

When he beat the sh$T out of DEci he was Under firm emotional control....
RoseOfPain 25th May 2014, 9:59 PM edit delete reply
FUCK YES
Centcomm 25th May 2014, 10:23 PM edit delete reply

ahh the sound of splattering brains :D
JacobJSebastian 25th May 2014, 10:27 PM edit delete reply

I love in this strip and the last one the blood in the background... very... 'Frank Miller' :-) (yes, that is a complement)
Centcomm 25th May 2014, 10:35 PM edit delete reply

Thank you - :D
xpacetrue 25th May 2014, 10:39 PM edit delete reply

In panel 3: Are those blood veins showing by the right temple and eyebrow?

BTW: In the bottom panel I thought it looked like Maxus was using his thumb and a finger to poke his eyes out (simultaneous with slamming his head to the wall). But your comments have me suspect otherwise.
Centcomm 25th May 2014, 10:42 PM edit delete reply

actually its scar tissue ( from a burn in the arena ) Hehe and no hes slamming the dudes skull in and crushing it like a egg :D
cattservant 25th May 2014, 10:58 PM edit delete reply

Short and to the point.

[On a side note:
About Acantha;
She thinks this is a "great story".
And at breakfast too.]
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:02 AM edit delete reply

hehe well yeah - she sees max as kinda a father figure now .. :D
Hydrargyrum 28th May 2014, 4:03 PM edit delete reply
And aren't those of us behind the fourth wall getting a more graphic retelling of events than Acantha would have?
Draginbeard 25th May 2014, 11:33 PM edit delete reply

Hmmm, well, if anyone plans on eliminating Max, they are going to want to be at range. Gives em a head start if they miss
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:04 AM edit delete reply

oh yes.. you do NOT want to be in Melee with him :D
Stormwind13 26th May 2014, 11:19 AM edit delete reply

I've got a feeling Maxus is a crack shot too though. So I'm not sure I want to get into a gun battle with him either.

Dropping rocks from orbit is about the only SAFE way to deal with Maxus, I think. :-D
Draginbeard 26th May 2014, 12:22 PM edit delete reply

Well, you know what I always say; Nuke him from orbit. Its the only way to be sure.
mjkj 26th May 2014, 12:00 AM edit delete reply

Poor Irene... *hugs her*

Well for me that was way too fast. How he hurt Irene that instant death is too good and too fast for him...

Stormwind13 26th May 2014, 6:45 AM edit delete reply

I agree mjkj, way too quick a death for that sleazeball. At least he is gone and done though. Which is a good thing in everyone's book (except his and he doesn't COUNT). :-D
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:05 AM edit delete reply

this is more of the END the threat now. and not worry about him ever again ..

or more likely he just got that hacked off and killed him outright.
anonymous coward 26th May 2014, 12:58 PM edit delete reply
Torture is a sickening and depraved thing performed by cowards, creeps and other nutjobs. I'd hope Maxus is above torture because if he isn't then New Rome is just that much more screwed with him as one of the people in charge.
Tokyo Rose 26th May 2014, 2:40 PM edit delete reply

Maxus didn't have much of an opinion one way or another on torture right up until this day in his life. He certainly doesn't condone it now. That said, he does make a distinction between "torture" and "punishment".
Timotheus 27th May 2014, 6:00 PM edit delete reply
The longer you draw out your revenge, the greater the chance of something happening and they'll get away and escape.
"A swift and immediate death is never too good for your enemies. You can celebrate after you're sure they're dead and the bodies cremated."
XMinusOne 26th May 2014, 12:08 AM edit delete reply
Now that's what I call an impact when a guys skull is crushed with such force that blood sprays out of his eye sockets, nose and mouth. Too bad it was over so quickly; he needed to suffer more for what he'd done to that poor woman.
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:06 AM edit delete reply

oh so do I but Max isnt really big on revenge hes more about justice and dealing with things on a permanent level :D
Kamy 26th May 2014, 12:30 AM edit delete reply
I prefer it this way. Maxus is no revenge guy.
It's deal with, and no more danger for her.

Revenge is the death of the soul of the one taking revenge.
Stormwind13 26th May 2014, 6:47 AM edit delete reply

Um... Good point Kamy. I just don't like it that he didn't get to suffer some for the He!! he put Irene through. Probably for the best though.
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:06 AM edit delete reply

exactly :D
Dragonrider 26th May 2014, 6:02 AM edit delete reply

Uhhh is that known as Wham, Bam Pardon me Ma'am.
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:07 AM edit delete reply

LOL :D
VanEzzania 26th May 2014, 6:26 AM edit delete reply

That ended exactly the way I though it would.
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:07 AM edit delete reply

in a warm splatter of brains ?
Sheela 26th May 2014, 12:46 PM edit delete reply

Yes.
VanEzzania 26th May 2014, 3:25 PM edit delete reply

Yes.
Stormwind13 26th May 2014, 6:56 AM edit delete reply

Since nobody else has commented on it, I guess I will.

In the last panel, Maxus is really moving. He has straightened the guy up, slammed him into the wall so quickly that the knife the guy was using on Irene is left hanging in mid-air. "Maxus gets shit done", indeed Rose! :-)

So Maxus went into a knife fight with just his hands and won it. Hands down. :-D
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:08 AM edit delete reply

pretty much although im not sure the guy could have won with a dinky little knife like that .. and yes it was literally over before the guy realized he was under attack
Sheela 26th May 2014, 12:51 PM edit delete reply

To be fair, the guy is by no means a small foe.
And the knife is plenty big to deal huge damage.

So, if he *had* noticed he was under attack, he could probably have given a pretty good account of himself. But even so, I doubt he would ever have won over a rage fueled Maxus.

It's probably better for him to go down quickly.
Though I bet he would have disagreed.
Tokyo Rose 26th May 2014, 2:44 PM edit delete reply

The applicable trope here is "Lightning Bruiser". :)
Sheela 26th May 2014, 6:50 PM edit delete reply

Alternatively, an unstoppable glazier that rolled a natural 20 on his initiative.

... after all, if you hit hard enough, you only have to hit once !
TheD-Wrek 26th May 2014, 8:17 AM edit delete reply

Ouch! :O
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:09 AM edit delete reply

well at least he didn't feel much.. or is that a bad thing >_<
JGibs_Evil_Twin 26th May 2014, 8:19 AM edit delete reply

And that's how Maxus takes out the garbage!

Very awesome page!!
Centcomm 26th May 2014, 10:09 AM edit delete reply

yep. that it is.. the prince is lucky max cant do this to him :D
hoppy 26th May 2014, 10:39 AM edit delete reply
and that he's got some type of dead man switch.
Stormwind13 26th May 2014, 12:23 PM edit delete reply

Douchebag is a dead man when Maxus figures out how to get around that switch, hoppy. :-D
Highlander55 26th May 2014, 12:15 PM edit delete reply
Yet!! Time will tell Cent.
Dragonrider 27th May 2014, 3:25 PM edit delete reply

Have a feeling Maxus may end up with a page fro the ancient Afghans book on the care and keeping of prisoners for fun and profit. They played Polo with the prisoners, or rather they played Polo using the prisoners for the ball.
KarToon12 26th May 2014, 4:16 PM edit delete reply

Not to ruin the serious moment, but the second panel made me think Maxus was wearing some of the Ironman armor. XD
highlander55 26th May 2014, 5:53 PM edit delete reply

Nah! He's just a cog in the clock.
highlander55 27th May 2014, 4:35 PM edit delete reply

Now comes the question, Since they are both owned by someone and fighting was usually looked down on outside of the ring. It would seem that Maxus would get in deep doo-doo over killing him even after what he did to Irene.
Stormwind13 27th May 2014, 6:02 PM edit delete reply

Well, since Maxus was a hot commodity (having just defeated the reigning champion) and his 'rival' was kind of a has been highlander. Maxus MIGHT get away with it. Penalized for it, some privileges taken away or something, but nothing major.

I guess we will have to wait and see. But I know that Maxus does NOT regret his actions, not in the LEAST. His regret is that Irene suffered because of jealousy against HIM.
Timotheus 27th May 2014, 7:21 PM edit delete reply
"Put out your hand."
"Knuckles up."
*Wap.*
"Consider yourself punished, now don't do this again."
sigpig 19th Jul 2015, 2:17 PM edit delete reply

Sorry for the late comment. While many fellow posters wanted Irene's attacker to suffer as much, or even MORE, than she did, I feel that Maxus did the best thing possible.

He eliminated the vermin.

He did not pull the wings off of the fly, he did not burn the ant with a magnifying glass, he whacked the bug with a flyswatter and killed it instantly. Maxus is ABOVE that shit.

If he had stooped to that level, he would be no better than the pond-scum that gladiator was, and Prince Douche IS.
