A lot gets by me, but lets get crazy here. We know Lynn won't leave without Acantha, what if Acantha won't leave unless Aneas is repaired first to protect everyone from her brother and Kali.
I think you are right, Phil. From the sounds of it, Miraiko has orders to tie up any loose ends (or silence any loose lips).
That last line, last panel on this comic though makes it sound like Miraiko MIGHT let her live, but I sure have my doubts. And Miraiko is known to lie when the situation calls for it.
I believe if Miraiko has to kill Julia it will be a mercifully quick and painless as she can arrange. She cares too much to want her to suffer.
If she does, it will really tear her up. Plus if Julia decides against going with her, she'll likely be treated as a conspirator regardless. Guilty until proven guilty, in drekhead's eyes. So there's the possibility of Miraiko doing so as an act of mercy, in that case. Wouldn't make it any easier on Miraiko.
Absolutely, velvet. I believe that is what Miraiko is concerned about at the top of the page Five Years from 15 October 2014. If Julia has to be silenced, Miraiko is going to tear her own heart out doing it.
Absolutely, Sheela. Her honor will drive her to complete the mission, regardless of who gets hurt. I just don't know if Miraiko would survive doing it. Or if she would be a hollowed out shell afterward. Only human-shaped, nothing living inside.
Its funny how offering to kill the torment of your existence can make you start to listen...
Ladies, very well done. A very thought out argument and counter for the last 2 pages.
Julia's emotional balance in regard to the prince is likely precarious. She would fold quickly at this point under ANY of his threats or even the real chance of him discovering what is happening. But once she understands what is stepping up to face her nightmare, I think it will strengthen her backbone considerable.
I think they need ice cream. It makes everything better!
::Hands Sheela the world census from Data Chasers, minus one:: Here are the people that would like Douchebag dead!
Edit: Alright, minus TWO... Katya MIGHT not want to do him in. He feeds her after all. Of course, he also keeps her chained up, but she might not understand why she should do him in.
I wasn't counting the Murder Turds, Sheela. They probably don't want him dead either. He sends them 'gifts' from time to time. Enemies he wants to suffer the feeling of being hunted.
I dont know if Julia is going to be able to do much more than keep quiet. And even that might be asking alot.
The trauma she's been through leaves some deep scars, and could easily cause her to react unpredictably. Just the idea of this kind of risk might be too much to bear.
No one really probably noticed the items on Julia's desk .. :/ - and yes Julia has literally been dragged though hell due to Deck.. He was very good at not leaving physical scars.. But the mental ones.. hoo boy.
Went back and looked. I'm thinking you mean the medicine in the panel 3 (and panel 4 too) of Five Years from 15 October 2014. Something helping hold Julia together from all the damage that has been done.
I know it was mentioned that Douchebag had owned her as a slave, velvet. And at another point that she had gotten FLOGGED after she became the Doctor for failing to follow his orders EXACTLY. I don't remember it being spelled out this starkly though what he had done while owning her.
It was also rather strongly alluded to in her profile on the "Cast" page: "Her experiences with the prince led her to strongly prefer the company of women over men."
Although not spelled out like it was here, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out from that.
Is there a lottery in place to see who ACTAULLY gets to Kill that SOB Deci or is it a first come first served thing..
Also.....I have a feeling Mirako and Julia's relationship may.....be coming to ann end....I mean discovering a breach of trust this deep...even if she can overcome it to help her.....well.....PArt of her probally will always be asking . Does she really care for me or is it all part of some cover or plan she is a part of and not telling me........
You might be right about their relationship, Rash. There is a LOT of pain there right now. It could end, even if both of them survive.
Still I'm thinking that Miraiko doesn't want it to end. She is taking considerable risk here, exposing herself to Julia this way. Not something lightly or frivolously done.
I also think Julia really doesn't want the relationship to end. At least judging by how she is still talking, like calling Miraiko babe on the last page.
Now the deception and the pain may be too much for the relationship, and it may end. It may still happen, Rash. You are certainly right that Julia might be plagued by doubts. Those doubts could corrode the relationship until it is no more. I just don't think either of them WANT it to end, despite the pain they are both in right now.
Rose, I have to say great job on the dialogue. I love Miraiko's come back to Julia there. "If Need Be? Yes." That was just great. Got Julia's attention for sure.
Miraiko puts a lot of trust in Julia here. To confide so completely tells me she cares, and knows Julia well enough to be able to imagine her reaction.
Though she does seem upset about the New Troy bit.
Oh and yeah velvet, I don't think Julia was in Rose's plans at all. Miraiko has INTRODUCED that little wrinkle I think.
it turns out the pilot is either drunk or insane ... or worse, completely absent..

"If I dont go along with you, will you let me live?"
Going by comic #1203, seems like the answer would be "no".

.. if nothing else, then to save Julia from the prince's torture, once he finds out.
Sux for Miriako too....
Meanwhile, Mirako plays chinese chess !

And I dont think Julia would turn down a whole Gallon of Ice Cream .. she likes Chocolate..
Instead she simply asked : "how?"
♪♫ Someone would like to kill the prince a whoooole lot ♫♪
... yes Julia, I'm looking at you!

We just haven't meat them yet.
