She's very.... possessive? of "her civilians"?

I'd say "protective", but somehow, it just doesnt seem to fit as well...
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 2:46 AM edit delete reply

I think it fits her very well.
After all, I couldn't see her go and bully an old lady trying to cross the street.

No doubt that she is superdangerous for the criminals, but not to the regular folks, as long as they keep out of trouble.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 3:15 AM edit delete reply

shes protective.. :D
Hornet 7th Nov 2014, 11:08 AM edit delete reply
Agreed Phil that "my" should be in big bold glowing green letters.
Greenwood Goat 7th Nov 2014, 6:03 PM edit delete reply
Would she be more protective of some things than others? >;=)>

Malati: You thought you could make trouble in my city, invade my favourite wrestling arena, and hold the cream of the city's entertainers at detonator-point with impunity... and now look where you've ended up: paralysed on the floor, waiting for death. I'd love to stay and help, but you're effectively neutralised, and I have a duty to ensure the welfare of the citizens that you threatened... especially that Linus Maximus. *sigh* So I'll go and check him for... injuries, and you just bleed out down there, 'kay? Toodles!

rfaramir 13th Nov 2014, 8:51 AM edit delete reply
As creepy as the notion of her 'owning' the civilians, or distasteful the idea of her being above them (the mere hoi poloi), this is the first indication of a good impulse of protecting the people I can remember.

Ownership (although it can be taken to an improper extreme of owning people) is a good and civilizing institution. Property, especially respecting other people's but also protecting your own, is the great preventer of disputes: you do with yours anything peaceful you like, and leave me to do the same with mine.

And great solver of disputes: get straight who owns what, then uncover who did what with another person's property, and finally give the proper owners their due reparations. That is justice.
Don B. 3rd Dec 2014, 9:39 AM edit delete reply
She could be using that "my" as an indication of responsibility rather than ownership. I'm getting the feeling that Malati and most (if not all) of her sisters are not happy doing the things they have to as Dex's assassins. They remember what it was like when they had a good and decent king to serve.
Dragonrider 6th Nov 2014, 9:09 PM edit delete reply

Uhhh She just lost both her Therapeutic Massage Certificate and her Reki Master Certificate. That doesn't look the least bit healthful.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 3:15 AM edit delete reply

oh but its very restful and he wont have to ever worry about back problems again ( comes with having no spine :D )
jamie59 6th Nov 2014, 9:18 PM edit delete reply

Wouldn't do her sideways. Too dangerous!
She's like a protective mother.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 3:08 AM edit delete reply

She is the epitome of the "Mama bear"
DizzasterJuice 6th Nov 2014, 9:25 PM edit delete reply

"do me sideways" Yes please!
Oh damn, I'm being pervy again. So Sorry.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 1:15 PM edit delete reply

Thats ok .. Pervey is allowed :D
DLKmusic 6th Nov 2014, 9:32 PM edit delete reply

I get the "My Citizens" comment, actually... that's programmed into her core logic, and this is what she is built for. she feels that for a change, she's NOT being a thug, but doing what she was built for in the first place.

Go Malati!!!! Grant them Absolution!!!!
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 2:47 AM edit delete reply

It's her time to shine brightly, rather than being a dull flicker of averageness.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 3:08 AM edit delete reply

Malati takes this whole Angel of death thing very seriously.. and your seeing her "game face" here. not her joking around self.
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 5:33 AM edit delete reply

Rather than burning the candle from both ends, she dips it in napalm and sets it on fire !
DLKmusic 7th Nov 2014, 1:50 PM edit delete reply

Gameface Malati I Respect, no doubt...
Joking around Malati? Do you remember "Nocty said I couldn't hurt her, but she didn't say that I couldn't rattle her verbally, Right?"
And the whole dialog of "confess to me your sins and I will grant you absolution" (which I loved, by the way) Even got Ceci to say "Yyyeah, this one goes on the watch list".

cattservant 6th Nov 2014, 9:32 PM edit delete reply

Red wire or blue wire?
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 2:48 AM edit delete reply

Experienced bomb makers use the same color for all the wires.
It's a hollywood thing, really.

Instead, pull out the detonation charge and crush the timer.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 3:04 AM edit delete reply

Later on you will note ALL the wires are red..
mjkj 7th Nov 2014, 9:42 AM edit delete reply

Ah, instead of red shirts it is red wires now...?
Skweeee 6th Nov 2014, 9:48 PM edit delete reply

She seems annoyed. What could turn that frown upside down?
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 2:48 AM edit delete reply

Cookies ! :D
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 3:05 AM edit delete reply

And she can actually enjoy cookies :D
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 4:12 AM edit delete reply

Actually, I suspect she likes Feral Strawberries even more !

Along with Savage Oranges and Biting Pears. :)
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 1:15 PM edit delete reply

Thats awesome sheela :D
Sheela 8th Nov 2014, 1:40 PM edit delete reply

I must admit, I love that artist. :)
Haegan2005 6th Nov 2014, 10:43 PM edit delete reply

At least it is not a pill color choice!
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 3:14 AM edit delete reply

yep.. thats true...
Rashala 7th Nov 2014, 1:02 AM edit delete reply

No offense MAlti and HEr partner intended here......

I am sure socially you are very nice Off duty but after seeing this I rather Walk up to tdee Kiss her without warning and NOT run for my life and let her beat me to near death than Well hear your stories about work now..
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 2:49 AM edit delete reply

Her work stories do seem pretty terrorfying.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 3:07 AM edit delete reply

it depends .. are you a criminal? if not you really have nothing to fear .. note she had nothing much to say to Dolly and Ceci.. they were watched but she didnt say anything rude. Malati still has to conform to some expectations as a Andriod in Roma. Meaning other than being a Cassian shes a second or third rate person.
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 4:19 AM edit delete reply

Yeahh ... but this is Malati ... when did she ever conform to any standard ?

Imagine someone telling her that she's a third rate person ?
She would probably stare that person down until their eyes bleed.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 1:14 PM edit delete reply

Depending on who it is she may not be able to do more than just growl impotently .. inhibitors .. remember ?
DLKmusic 8th Nov 2014, 1:48 AM edit delete reply

of course, she could always pull the... "What's that? Did you just litter? In MY CITY? Looks like I'm gonna have to bring you in for that." Routine.

Rashala 8th Nov 2014, 9:19 PM edit delete reply

To answer centy.....Welllllll I probally would be seen as an Agitator/loudmouthed instigator In NR. in NT...well How would YOU classify me CEnty? or do you need me to give an example of my political opinions?

PS. We ever gonna have more Q&A's answered Still dying to hear rose answer that one ;)
mjkj 7th Nov 2014, 1:45 AM edit delete reply

Well, to serve and protect.

She is doing a good job.

Go, Mali!!!

Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 1:13 PM edit delete reply

highlander55 7th Nov 2014, 5:31 AM edit delete reply

So in New Roman "Parking" is spelled the same as in English?
Sheela 7th Nov 2014, 5:36 AM edit delete reply

Spelling it as "Aircraftparking" makes sense, when most of the people who fly in there will be out of town traders, who might not speak the local language.

I'm more curious about the Bugatti Veyron in the background.
velvetsanity 7th Nov 2014, 9:19 AM edit delete reply

There are a very limited number of good futuristic vehicle models available. And the Veyron can pass as futuristic, sort of. I'm sure that's why Cent chose it.

Maybe it's a kit car replica? I'm not sure how carbon fiber holds up over time, as far as aging and decay/rot. I know it doesn't rust, so the body itself might survive that long, maybe it was rebuilt. Though most likely it's just what was available that was suitable.
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 1:04 PM edit delete reply

yeah ( i could give you a huge hyper-bole about latin and Lamod but I wont .. suffice it to say the artist here just didn't alter it and it would be in standard ( and that means English ) as for the Bugatti - like Velvet said there is jack all for futuristic cars and according to the rule of tech if a design isnt broke dont fix it .. so yeah a 4 wheel truck that has a gas or electric engine is likely to look exactly the same now .. as 1500 years from now.. :D
Draginbeard 7th Nov 2014, 6:37 AM edit delete reply

LOL nobody kills my Citizens...except me!
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 1:05 PM edit delete reply

if they are criminals .. sure! :d
DLKmusic 7th Nov 2014, 2:04 PM edit delete reply

Hey Dragonbeard, I'm curious. When Dolly and Ceci brought Dari in and she encountered Malati, you considered Malati the very definition of evil.
Do you still hold that position? (I'm not trolling, but you made some good arguments back then, and I'm curious if you still feel that way).
Draginbeard 7th Nov 2014, 5:57 PM edit delete reply

Yup, still evil.

She does what she is programed to do, which cant be helped, its her love (and we have seen her thoughts, so its no act) of causing terror and pain that makes her a real monster.

Sheela 9th Nov 2014, 4:05 AM edit delete reply

She is growing on you, though. :)
Draginbeard 9th Nov 2014, 8:04 PM edit delete reply

Not so much. Her and Teedee are my least favorite characters right now. Im more of a Dolly fan to be honest.
Centcomm 9th Nov 2014, 9:00 PM edit delete reply

Next week will be a big treat then ! ITs a Dolly short :D
VanEzzania 7th Nov 2014, 7:34 AM edit delete reply

TheD-Wrek 7th Nov 2014, 8:58 AM edit delete reply

Kitty 7th Nov 2014, 7:31 PM edit delete reply

Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 1:12 PM edit delete reply

Or...they are providing some great evening entertainment. >:)
Centcomm 7th Nov 2014, 6:55 PM edit delete reply

too true ! SILVER LININGS!
Thinker of Thoughts 7th Nov 2014, 8:36 PM edit delete reply
Personally I have never understood why people insist on putting their timers and detonators outside of the explosive itself. I would have thought the advent of plastic explosives would have made this pretty common practice, especially since it would vaporize your circuit board and components thus rendering them un-traceable. Similarly I have wondered why it isn't common practice to seal explosives in several layers of epoxy to thwart explosive detectors.
Thinker of Thoughts 7th Nov 2014, 8:41 PM edit delete reply
If it wasn't fairly obvious i am talking about surrounding the timer/detonator with explosives.
ge2org 8th Nov 2014, 8:42 AM edit delete reply

i can't stop laughing at that alt text!
