Love Conie's shirt.
DizzasterJuice 3rd Dec 2014, 9:20 AM edit delete reply

Heheh... that's the first thing I noticed.
Matt Knab 3rd Dec 2014, 1:22 PM edit delete reply

Haha, yeah.
Kitty 3rd Dec 2014, 5:02 PM edit delete reply
And when do we get to see the back of the shirt? Because obviously there's more to that slogan...
Hydrargyrum 3rd Dec 2014, 10:28 PM edit delete reply

You can see the back any time if you feel like chipping in on Patreon...

@Cent: so, does the alt text here have any relation to certain comments on Luna Star page 242?
Centcomm 4th Dec 2014, 12:52 AM edit delete reply

The Alt text refers the song I was running on repeat when working on the page :D
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:22 PM edit delete reply

Yea Connie is trying to be subtle. She does not have a HUGE rack but she knows her butt is perfect :D
velvetsanity 2nd Dec 2014, 9:34 PM edit delete reply

The fecal matter has made contact with the oscillating atmospheric circulation device...
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:22 PM edit delete reply

oh yes we are seeing the initial splatter now .
Dragonrider 2nd Dec 2014, 9:53 PM edit delete reply

Uhhh lets see Nova Roma is expecting a New Troy Super Android, and here we have an android who says she belongs to no one, isn't wearing an inhibitor collar. Ooopsie!
velvetsanity 2nd Dec 2014, 9:58 PM edit delete reply

AND stated that she was made in New Troy...
Haegan2005 2nd Dec 2014, 10:19 PM edit delete reply

This could have unfortunate results. I wonder if Black can dig her out of this.

Of course, I also wonder if they have been discovered already by a leak somewhere. There is an awful lot of interest in the Beast right now that I would not normally expect, even for a heightened security alert. Guards are not normally pointing guns like this unless they have an idea that something is wrong. Badly wrong.
T1-G3R2501 3rd Dec 2014, 8:09 AM edit delete reply
Only thing in Connie's favor is that everything is wrong in New Troy! So at least she's getting treated same as every other outsider.
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:23 PM edit delete reply

yeah Connie KINDA paniced here..
Stormwind13 3rd Dec 2014, 4:04 PM edit delete reply

I blame Mr. Black. He was supposed to be dealing with the armed lunatics, not letting them get to HER. :-P
Sheela 4th Dec 2014, 7:15 AM edit delete reply

Mr Black should have made certain the inhibitor was on her before he left her.

The guards are kinda big on those collars.
Tokyo Rose 4th Dec 2014, 3:53 PM edit delete reply

Mr. Black knows the trade laws and courtesies inside and out. In a typical situation, Connie would be perfectly fine to go without the inhibitor until after they get through the customs point. This situation's very atypical.
Guest 2nd Dec 2014, 10:19 PM edit delete reply
Poor Connie, with no collar in a place where her kind is property. Think fast, girl.

They told me to cheer up, things could be worse. So I did, and I'll be damned if things didn't get worse.
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:23 PM edit delete reply

well Connie is "suppose" to be safe as long as she stays on the bridge.
Draginbeard 2nd Dec 2014, 11:34 PM edit delete reply

Yikes. Yeah, with all thats going on, Im thinking Connie is gonna get hauled out of the ship, and detained.

Reminds me of that little known (smirk) yet classic scene ~

"Into the shoot, flyboy!"

In the trash compactor...

"What a wonderful smell you've discovered!"

"It could be worse."

Compactor begins compacting.

"Its worse."
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:24 PM edit delete reply

Yeah that was a awesome scene :D it truly was :D
mjkj 3rd Dec 2014, 12:37 AM edit delete reply

Awwww, poor Connie...

*hugs her*

Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:24 PM edit delete reply

Shes going to need a few Hugs for this part..
mjkj 4th Dec 2014, 3:46 AM edit delete reply

Ok. *starts preparing more hugs* ;) :D
Stormwind13 3rd Dec 2014, 4:02 AM edit delete reply

Is it me or did Mr. Black let Connie down here? He told her that he would be there to help cover for her and I don't see him anywhere in sight.

Poor Connie, she can't lie to save her life. Which may be the cost if these guys are as trigger happy as they are hostile. :-P Pray that Connie doesn't wind up as a red smear on the wall.
velvetsanity 3rd Dec 2014, 8:53 AM edit delete reply

It's possible that Mr. Black and the others have already been arrested and hauled off...
Stormwind13 3rd Dec 2014, 4:06 PM edit delete reply

And CentComm didn't SHOW us TeeDee CALMLY being arrested, velvet?!? Inconceivable!!! I call FOUL on the Evil Duo, if that is the case! :-)
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 5:20 PM edit delete reply

wait for it .. :D
Sheela 4th Dec 2014, 7:17 AM edit delete reply

Ahh .. are Connie's guards about to be distracted by a certain ill-tempered android raging out of control on the lower decks ?

And don't worry, TeeDee has a surfire plan to make a big ruckus in no time at all!
Wait .. TeeDee, is that you ? Well .. I guess that would work.
T1-G3R2501 3rd Dec 2014, 7:21 AM edit delete reply
"Charging" huh? Connie already has a backup plan?
velvetsanity 3rd Dec 2014, 7:46 AM edit delete reply

I'm guessing that that's equivalent to 'refueling' here
T1-G3R2501 3rd Dec 2014, 8:06 AM edit delete reply
Oh... well she's in trouble
velvetsanity 3rd Dec 2014, 8:21 AM edit delete reply

I suspect they're all in trouble at this point.
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:34 PM edit delete reply

Thats the Ships systems that are charging ..
Sheela 4th Dec 2014, 7:18 AM edit delete reply

Connie on the other hand, should be chargin' her lazors!
Hans 3rd Dec 2014, 8:44 AM edit delete reply
I think I'm missing something with that inhibitor. Ceci does not wear one and is fine inside Nova Roma. She just has to stay near Dolly.
So why would Connie need one?
velvetsanity 3rd Dec 2014, 8:59 AM edit delete reply

Wasn't Ceci declared as being Dolly's property? That may make a difference.
Dragonrider 3rd Dec 2014, 9:56 AM edit delete reply

Ceci and Dolly were bringing in some very valuable property in the prisoner. Cecil said she was Dolly's property. Connie said no one owned her, she's on the command deck of a ship belonging to a known smuggler with links to the shady side of the Church, not a good thing.
DLKmusic 3rd Dec 2014, 1:43 PM edit delete reply

Even so, she doesn't count as contraband.

Besides, wasn't the whole point of having Connie on board to divert attention from Ada and TeeDee? Mission accomplished.

I'm sure black will find a way to smoothtalk this, that's what he's best at.

I feel bad for Connie, but she was told this when she agreed to come along. She should have put the inhibitor on.
Tokyo Rose 3rd Dec 2014, 5:06 PM edit delete reply

@DLK
As Connie noted on the previous page, it's all right for her to not wear the thing until they pass into the city proper, as long as she stays aboard the ship. True, she was told it would be needed in the city... but let's draw the obvious parallel: in a similar situation, how many black people would be willing to put a slave collar on themselves before it's absolutely necessary? Even one that's just "for show"? Connie isn't a secret agent or part of the military; she's a civilian. She's bitten back resentment towards Tillerman's prejudicial treatment--but keeping your head down so you don't lose your job is really not the same as being treated literally as a slave.
DLKmusic 3rd Dec 2014, 7:08 PM edit delete reply

That is a hard point to argue, Rose, agreed.
Tokyo Rose 3rd Dec 2014, 4:54 PM edit delete reply

@Dragonrider
In Nova Roma, Empori ("Trader") Barclay is not a "known smuggler" at all. He is a legitimate merchant. In fact, he's so reliable that he's come to the notice of some people inside the Roma bureaucracy--such as the Church--who find themselves in need of specific items that are entirely legal, but hard to find.
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:26 PM edit delete reply

Ceci was very forward with declaring herself owned by Dolly and when scanned they found a inhibitor signal .. ( see the tech page on inhibitors ) And at that point Ceci dropped right off the radar.. Connie has declared herself as her own person .. thats not a happy thing here.

Connie was holding a external inhibitor device ...

Ceci "faked" a internal inhibitor..
Weiser 3rd Dec 2014, 12:09 PM edit delete reply
Awww... come on. Even some bored Nova Roma military assholes want to have some fun.
Centcomm 3rd Dec 2014, 2:31 PM edit delete reply

LOL
Stormwind13 3rd Dec 2014, 4:07 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, but their idea of fun and Connie's are NOT going to be the same I fear Weiser. :-P Poor Connie.
Sheela 4th Dec 2014, 7:49 AM edit delete reply

Guards just wanna have fun ?
Complete with phones that had a chord 'n' everything ? XD

I can just imagine their off-duty chatter ...

Guard Heinz : *whoof* .. finally I get to get take off this heay armor.
Guard Monte : I know, right ? It gets so stodgy in those suits.
Guard Hunt : I swear, if they don't add heat conditioning to those suits, I'm gonna lodge a formal complaint.
Guard Heinz : *sigh* And the helmet chafes too, and look at my fabulous hair - All crincled and sweaty!
Guard Hunt : Oh dear!
Guard Monte : Oh no, it didn't!
Guard Hunt : Do you use permanent glossers in your hair ?
Guard Heinz : I dooo, why Hunt, I thought you would never notice!
Guard Monte : OH! oh, did you heard about Sentinel Annie over on Platform 74 and her adventures with glossers ?
Guard Heinz : *rolls eyes* ..only 20 times so far, dear.
Guard Hunt : yes, you need to bring some new gossip to the tables, I mean really.. *limpwrist*
Guard Monte : Oh c'mon, nothing ever happens around here, apart from the occasional gladiator fight.
Guard Heinz : But those are *so* boring, don't you think ?
Guard Hunt : I heard a cassian has been throwing her underwear at the gladiators lately!
Guard Monte : A CASSIAN ?
Guard Heinz : A CASSIAN ?
Guard Hunt : True story, I kid you not!
Guard Heinz : Well ... now I have heard and seen just about everything!
Guard Monte : Yes well, we have had much to watch those last few days.
Guard Heinz : Like that trader ship yesterday with the purple haired android ?
Guard Hunt : OH - She had matching nail polish!
Guard Monte : Yes, that was a nice touch.
Guard Heinz : Speaking of which, I totally chipped a nail today, and all the nail polish just flaked off. I felt so naked, the whole time, I could almost cry!
Guard Monte : There, there, dear, you are with us now, there's no bad people around to observe your faux-pas.
Guard Hunt : Don't panic, I always carry some nail polish with me, it's color matched with our armor too.
Guard Hunt : So just tell me next time and we'll have you fixed up in no time, guarenteed!
Guard Heinz : *sniff* Thanks so much, I don't know what I would do without you guys.
Guard Monte : GROUPHUG!
Guard Hunt : hugggzzz!

:D

jaw clatters off into the distance from falling off so hard...
Sheela 4th Dec 2014, 7:54 AM edit delete reply

Look into your heart - You know it to be true !!
This is how your guards work!
We are on to you!
Stormwind13 4th Dec 2014, 5:21 PM edit delete reply

O_o

Sheela... that was... Um, I don't even have the WORDS for what that was... :-D
velvetsanity 4th Dec 2014, 8:22 PM edit delete reply

You know, this reminds me of someone I used to play Shadowrun with years ago. When he GMed, if the team encountered a guard like Sheela's, we always knew his name was Phil. Or if we met a guard named Phil, the male members of the team were quick to tell the guard 'sorry, I'm straight' before he could hit on them lol
Sheela 5th Dec 2014, 12:58 PM edit delete reply

All my guards where named after ketchup brands. :D
velvetsanity 5th Dec 2014, 6:55 PM edit delete reply

I noticed :D
Timotheus 3rd Dec 2014, 5:09 PM edit delete reply

From a legal point of view there can be a fine distinction between "owned" and "contract labor" that would be important in New Troy but not in New Rome that I'm sure Mr. Black will be able to use to his advantage. ("Well, she does "belong" to herself but she's contract bound to the ship as sevice equipment and since I own the ship and all its equipment she sort of belongs to me but it makes her happy to think otherwise...")
Stormwind13 3rd Dec 2014, 6:14 PM edit delete reply

I'm not sure about that Timotheus. I was thinking that Mr. Black had hired Connie as the ship engineer. That means he could dismiss her or that she could quit. Not that she 'belongs' to the Beast (Nice Personality) or that she has no say in her employment. Whereas a slave has little to no (legal) recourse.
CptKerion 3rd Dec 2014, 6:27 PM edit delete reply
Trick isn't to tell them the story as it is, but as it suits you.
Stormwind13 3rd Dec 2014, 7:01 PM edit delete reply

Except that Connie is too honest to THINK of a plausible story under normal circumstances. When someone sticks a (BIG) gun in her face, CptK, all thoughts about anything ELSE went flying out of the window.
Centcomm 4th Dec 2014, 12:22 AM edit delete reply

In New Troy Connie would have a lot of protections under the eyes of the "law" in nova Roma Connie has the legal protection of a cellphone. or a personal computer. as in none. a lot of people in NR would not even see her as a person.
Stormwind13 4th Dec 2014, 3:17 PM edit delete reply

The OWNER is protected, from loss of their property. The property has no rights of its own. :-P
Dongaria 3rd Dec 2014, 5:31 PM edit delete reply

I got Latin 201 panic sweats. I dropped after two years and went to Spanish. :P Hheheheh.
Centcomm 4th Dec 2014, 12:22 AM edit delete reply

hehe - :D
KarToon12 3rd Dec 2014, 8:37 PM edit delete reply

I'm with you there; can't we all just get along?
Centcomm 4th Dec 2014, 12:23 AM edit delete reply

mankind has been asking that for years.. literally .. years.
mjkj 4th Dec 2014, 3:44 AM edit delete reply

Years? not decades or centuries?
Centcomm 4th Dec 2014, 6:27 AM edit delete reply

yeah pretty much..
Sheela 4th Dec 2014, 7:59 AM edit delete reply

And the answer is :
"We are not very good at it."
Aetrun 4th Dec 2014, 2:31 PM edit delete reply
I believe the Sniper said it best: 'cause at the end of the day, as long as there are two people left on the planet, someone is gonna want someone dead.
mjkj 4th Dec 2014, 3:06 PM edit delete reply

Wow, it is strange to see Luna Star having a higher rank than Data Chasers...
