And probably gotten herself thoroughly perforated by jackasses backup. Or in best case put the whole New Rome into high alert for several days. Those guards have very graphic and explicit knowledge of what combat android is capable of.
I'm REALLY starting to hate this guy. Picking up Connie that way could NOT have felt good for her. And the second one is standing back there with his gun out ready to shoot. Poor Connie is so confused by all of this. She looks kind of scared (to me) in that last panel there.
::HUGS Poor Connie::
Of course, if Dolly was here these bozos would already be dead. :-P They would need a lot more than two of them for her. Especially with CeCi backing her up.
To be perfectly honest, there is nothing she can say here that will work in her favor. They are not interested in finding the truth, only in terrorizing and ultimately eliminating a uncontrolled android.
The saddest part is it is ultimately useless for actually doing what it's supposed to be doing and is in fact helping the infiltration.
The script is taken directly from any security force rounding up a targeted undesirable for "interrogation" and/or "relocation".
Well, I have to disagree a bit. Those guys may be jackasses, but they have also been warned that an infiltrator android from New Troy is on the way. They do not want to have to apologize (in the Japanese sense of the word) the Prince for getting the wrong android. They ARE interested in finding out the truth...
This particular situation is, in fact, much more likely to get them whipped raw than patted on the back. The reasons will become clear in the next few pages.
My first guess would be the clandestine cargo being delivered to a certain cleric of some importance in New Rome and how the rover boys actions here may A. Bring undue attention to it, B. Inconvenience the favored supplier of said cargo to said cleric, C. May interfere with said cleric getting his cargo, or D. Cause a sizable increase in the cost of said cargo due to damages and other expenses caused by their lack of diligence in making sure they actually had a suspect before interfering on the bridge of a foreign trade vessel.
You may have to use a different game. There is more then 3 rescuers unaccounted for in this team! And they are all potentially scary in combat.
While we have not seen Mr Black in combat, we can infer that he can carry his own if needed as he has survived on his own for years. People just like to shoot at smugglers and the lack of big honkin holes in him speaks volumes.
I also say again that Mr Black is VERY protective of those he considers defenseless. Connie may know which end of the gun to point, but I have an image of her being stumped by the weapons safety device...
I can say though that this will be resolved differently depending on who comes back first. Mr Black has a contact High in the church here for which he is making a delivery. The death of the guards will simply draw unneeded attention. Mr Blacks first choice is not normally violence, he uses other methods first if he can based off of what we have seen so far.
The worst person to come through that door first would be Teedee as her first option is violence an that is when she is being subtle!
Actually, of the people available, I would almost consider TeeDee as the best case scenario for this guy. I mean, sure, she'd go all violent and then she would rock his world(it's all about the cowboy boots). And after that he would be very dead, but at least it would be quick.
If Mr. Black gets to him first, it will initially be done without bloodshed, but later that evening, in a dark back alley, the guard will disappear .. forever. And god only knows what the people that dwells in the backalleys would do to him before he was dead.
Major Ramsey would probably pound him into a well tenderized piece of meat, and then hand him over to the Prince, or one of the cassians ... a bad deal over all.
... and then there is Dr. Silver ...
You should FEAR a Doctor, because they can keep you alive for a lot longer than someone like TeeDee can. His pain would be legendary.
While speaking of Doctor's ... Ada has the potential to be truly frightening.
.. so, yeah, TeeDeee would almost be a best case scenario for our foolish guard.
Not sure how long she has been waiting in the ship, if the rescuers are still at the bar, they might come back and find her gone already.
If the arrest was bad, then custody can only be worse for her, especially since she moderately fits a Be-On-The-Lookout sheet, and the over-zealous and heavy hand of the arresting officer is probably just the beginning.
If Malati gets involved, and has her way...all bets are off.
If Malati were to get involved, I'd say it's just as likely that all bets are off regarding the asshole's survival. "For attacking an innocent, android or otherwise, I shall punish you. Unless Kali claims dibs."
Very true Draginbeard if she breaks all bets are off..
Sadly a lot of NT Andriods fit the rough discription of Dolly the exact info is Height 5'8" to 6'
Blue or blue colored hair
glowing cyan eyes.
Model unknown ..
They think she may be a 3 or 4 but they arent taking chances. andriods can change looks as easy as clothing..
Mind you, Noctis demonstrated that she, at least, is aware that Dolly's eyes should be green. A short round of Bureaucratic Telephone may be in play :D
While Connie is one of the nicer chatacters, the minor level of brutality she's been subjected to already has her anxious. Malati (if she gets involved) would LOVE ten minutes with Connie. She wouldnt even have to lay a finger on her to get Connie to spill everything she needed to know.
Im not sure Malati would care that the officer roughed Connie up. As of this minute she is suspected of conspiracy involving Cent-Comm. Besides that, Malati is all about watching over her city. Connie is an outsider, and until she has been vetted, why would Mal give two wet circuts about her treatment, good or bad?
As satisfying as it might be in the moment to inflict a lot of violence on this guy ultimately any aggressive action is going to make things worse. Like an overly aggressive police officer in the real world you have to "know when you can say no" there are things you can refuse and things you can't and knowing what is what, is the difference between asserting your rights, and getting in bigger trouble. And right now as the law stands she has vary few if any rights to fall back on. The only 'good' way for this to end is if someone with more standing leverages some high level name dropping to get these guys to back off. Anything else likely ends with all of Nova Roma dropping the hammer on our poor hero's
I second that motion!
Are you familiar with roll20.net? I've been using it to play Pathfinder (and soon a spot of Alternity) over the internet with a few friends who are scattered all over the United States and Canada.
I prefer the Rolemaster System for currently simulating things in DC :D it would be kinda cool to get a rp group - I actually run one off and on - in the forums here at comic fury .. its not DC based though..
Right now I'm running a home brew Pathfinder game where I've advanced the tech line to civil war area. It's a lot of fun to have my PCs running around with repeater rifles lol
I think it is well known that the Guardian of the Taylor's is named Dolly. Has a model 3 body, heavily modified, and tends to have bluish hair. I mean, that is pretty much the description from day 1 (or at least Memory Shards 01 from 21 July 2012).
Dolly has been around for so long, Dragonrider that information on her is bound to be floating around. And her job is to protect the Taylor's so figuring she would be coming for Lynn isn't rocket science.
Drekhead's big fat spy in New Troy is the one that opened their big fat mouth, obviously...or maybe the spy is actually Kali's ('A Cassian In CentComm's Court', to paraphrase - or is that parody - a well known book/movie title :D )
Oh dear. Did I just give Cent and Rose a potential future plot idea? O:-)
::HUGS Poor Connie::
Of course, if Dolly was here these bozos would already be dead. :-P They would need a lot more than two of them for her. Especially with CeCi backing her up.
Side note.. Connie is already scared.. if she were human she might have already embarrassed herself already

Apologies for the wall of text!

he is unnecessarily forceful to poor Connie...
*hugs her*
I hope he soon meets his untimely end...
...and I totally agree with the alt text...
*hugs Connie again*
I hear those are the best! :)
Just watch out for soup.

Edit - err, the fact of her involvement in the mission, I mean, in response to Draginbeard...
Including the neanderthal guard harassing Connie at the moment.
In fact, Malati would definately enjoy harassing that guard.
Now we know why cavemen became extinct, because they were obnoxious assholes.

Before the kidnapping took place, they would have scoped out the Taylor's security, and they would definately have heard of the Taylor Guardian.
Doesn't take many brain cells to figure out that she would be coming to get her child back.

Heck, Dolly is probably better known in Nova Roma than the Taylor family itself.
Sorry, had to be said
Dust bunnies don't count. :D
