Well, if they put lipstick on Mr Popolopolis, the prince may go for it. Though how you would do the manicure is a little beyond me... Can't do the job only half way you know!
Besides, nothing more amusing than a Calliope with retractable nano claws, ripping Decimus apart and then claim that she lost control "in the moment", he would hardly be able to argue with that. :)
Ah yes, maritable duties + claws would be bad for Decimus.
And that would only be the beginning! XD
Heck, he probably would not survive the first week.
Try flat out STUPID, Sheela. Only someone with only intermittent contact with reality would think they could get away with that. Oh yeah, its the Douchebag, so that pretty much describes him to the T.
As his earlier monologue indicates, he already believes her to be weak, fragile, and easily controlled. It wouldn't have mattered if she'd turned up on-screen wearing a Gundam.
In fact, her showing up in full armor, or in something as awesome as a Gundam would probably have made him think less of her as he would have likely seen it as her feeling the need for protection instead of having her own strength.
40FT tall robots only makes sense when fighting similar sized alien biologicals.
Human on human you're not going to se any robots over 20ft for platoon support platforms.
Not offended at all the maps that are on most of the displays are a generic google earth image post worked on the texture .. They really are kinda gibberish .. I do have some Hero maps .. but they contain spoilers you can find some nifty stuff on the tech pages here though :D
Well in the 4th panel, Sheela, CentComm indicates (despite her prediction algorithms) that she didn't predict that Douchebag would go there. Tipped over all her carefully calculated scenarios in one (LONG A$$) sentence.
Calliope thought way faster on her feet than I could ever hope to. She actually managed to turn him down without (verbally) ripping him a new rectum. That is impressive control. Still she now realizes that he is COMPLETELY unpredictable, things going on in his head that no one else can touch (they aren't CRAZY enough).
Yes he did .. or just Make her his wife .. Sadly the laws that govern that sort of thing are within his purview to alter..
Although he would still need the Churches approval due to Him and Acantha being brother and sister. And they are unlikely to approve such a pairing .. ( because most of them are actually scientists and not .. something else. ) :D
Tie up all the alliances he could in BOTH cities that way. Not that he would SURVIVE it. Since he thinks he is more ruthless, tougher, faster, smarter than the rest of the planet he can't foresee anyone that can stop him.
Kali would likely only agree if the inhibitor were to be removed. After which she'd probably arrange for his death and Maxus placed as Regent until Acantha can officially take the throne.
Well, I kind of thought this was why he kidnapped the daughter in the first place...
Kind of, I expected him to try seducing Tailor Jr. first, or at least starting with the marriage proposal for the daughter's hand.
And yes, I was assuming he was going off an old Roman ploy of brainwashing/impregnating the youth first in order to erase the elder generation's culture. (It doesn't take much intelligence to think of/pull off and it did work quite well for the old Roman Empire)
True Miyto. Still when he first meet Lynn (way back on 3 October 2007 - Introductions) he sure didn't ACT like he had any interest in her beyond pry bar to use against Calliope.
That's because she's close enough to Acantha's age that they could conceivably unite to stand up to him. Not to mention that he's not exactly thinking things through in a *sane* manner. It might not have occurred to him until later, after she interfered with his 'divine right' to assault Acantha. Now, he likely wants to break Lynn and turn her into his personal doormat, but until he can safely get away with getting her in his bed, Maxus stands in his way. And he just might be scared of Maxus but unable to remove him without undermining *everything* else he does/plans. I suspect the only reason that he's not absolutely terrified of Kali and the Cassians is the inhibitors they all have.
I'm not sure God wants to know what goes on in that sick puppy's head, CentComm. I have a feeling that comes from the OTHER side of the battle (does anyone else smell sulfur?).
Access to the weapons vault, the chance to break her, and absolute control of New Troy through his control of her. His next step would be conquering New Sparta, followed by consolidating his complete rule of North America before moving on to attempt taking over South America. After that would probably be Europe or Africa, followed by the other, then finally Asia and Australia before mounting an assault on Luna.
whoa.... ok that would be a marriage made in hell..
Kali might make a scary Queen.. But then Decimus could always order her around via Directive so... might not work out.. LOL still funny though
The first thing Princess Kali would do would be to go to an underground android mod-shop and have the inhibitor removed, and the next time Decimus tried to "direct" her, she'd spank his ass into the infrared. (Or maybe she wouldn't wait that long, he's well overdue for a case of baboon-ass.)
I might be a minority here, but I actually think Kali would make an great queen. she has a lot of the same characteristics as both Catherine the Great and Queen Victoria.
Only thing she's really missing is the charm.... and the pedigree... and the non-human part probably won't help in Nova Roma.....
Her android nature won't help at first, definitely. And she'd have to deal with numerous assassination attempts. Eventually, though, even the most stubbornly bigoted would have to acknowledge not only her intelligence, but also her numerous talents and skills *and* the fact that she truly has Roma's best interests at heart. Not to mention that she'd step aside as soon as Acantha becomes 'of age' to take the throne.
The "most stubbornly bigoted" would be the likes of Optio Clauderius, and unfortunately, I don't think I could see him ever bending a knee to an android.
He hasn't actually given a reason why joining their two nations would benefit New Troy at all (other than the obvious one, they get Lynn back!). I don't think he's got the patience to try to argue this point with Calli, either. He'll probably just get mad and move on to Plan B: Threatening Lynn's life.
Of course CentComm and Calli are smart enough to know that even if they agreed to a marriage for reasons of their own, he'd probably attack New Troy anyway.
Gotta admit, Rose! you caught me WAY off guard with Decimus's Opening Salvo! Well done!
On a secondary note, and I probably should have mentioned it last page, but the outfit that Calliope is wearing does seem to make her look Far more well endowed than she appears in previous pages, including the re-worked ones. Was this intentional on her part as a means of distraction? if so, I approve!
If he's really unlucky, he ends up married to Mr Popolopolis. XD
He really hasn't thought this one through.
Besides, nothing more amusing than a Calliope with retractable nano claws, ripping Decimus apart and then claim that she lost control "in the moment", he would hardly be able to argue with that. :)

Ofcourse, trying to charm someone whom you have stolen a child from is ... unadvisable!
Human on human you're not going to se any robots over 20ft for platoon support platforms.
Please don't be offended, but I have a nasty map fascination. I notice you have maps on this page... any chance of you showing these maps up closer?
//singed// ILoveMaps.

Translated: "Look, kid, I'm old enough to be your mother. It's not going to happen."
I guess the upcoming dinner is to propose to Lynn then...
... EWWW!
Although he would still need the Churches approval due to Him and Acantha being brother and sister. And they are unlikely to approve such a pairing .. ( because most of them are actually scientists and not .. something else. ) :D
And my reaction to his proposals to Calliope and to Lynn are the same as yours: Ewwwwwwwww!
Besides he seems to have finally gotten the idea that he cant marry his sister.

FACEPALMS*
There's so very much diplomat-speak in play here :)
And the fact that he missed that?
Kind of, I expected him to try seducing Tailor Jr. first, or at least starting with the marriage proposal for the daughter's hand.

.. dang, hs'e gonna be PISSED !
Dammit Decimus, stop being so weird!
Devious!
