Leonard Nimoy, Spock of ‘Star Trek,’ Dies at 83

I really dont have anything to say here . the Man will be missed.. I adored this actor as Spock and he was the best "Alien" I think sci fi ever had on the screen - The actor was a awsome man .. The world is a poorer place with him not in it.

Tokyo Rose
Some will say he's gone to a better place; I argue that this place still needed him. Rest in peace, Mr. Nimoy.

Greed and pride goesth before the fall .. or something like that ::D
Sheela 27th Feb 2015, 6:32 PM edit delete reply

Changing policies??? Maybe it's too late for that?
Centcomm 27th Feb 2015, 5:11 PM edit delete reply

might be.. :D but they can try :D
Sheela 27th Feb 2015, 6:33 PM edit delete reply

Basically, what it means, is that Decimus no longer have a free reign of his policies, and the "real people in power" are starting to get fed up with him.
Centcomm 27th Feb 2015, 7:07 PM edit delete reply

Yep never underestimate the politicians :D
DLKmusic 27th Feb 2015, 6:25 PM edit delete reply

Awesome tribute to the Late Great Leonard Nimoy! If it pleases the court, I would like to post one of my own:
(the ballad of Bilbo Baggins: if you haven't seen it you have no right to call yourself a nerd)

Regarding our intrepid soldiers marching to war, I see that Acantha has already done her homework for the upcoming battle!

I'd like to add the following to help understand what the world has lost:

Back in 1968 when Star Trek was still going, "Mr. Spock" received a letter from a bi-racial kid who has having a hard time fitting in. Rather than automatically reply with a signed photograph, he took the time to write this [a href=""]letter[/a href] (NOTE: Sorry if I messed up the link). His response not only shows his intelligence and compassion, but also how deeply he goes into understanding his character.

My wife wouldn't be born for another decade, but she would read a reprint of it as a kid. Being mixed-race herself, she, too, would become inspired by it.

The world is richer for you having been in it, sir, and poorer for your leaving it. We wish you the best on your new adventure.

Never mind the earlobe....aim lower, if you catch my drift. He won't be able to run, and with any luck you could prevent all sorts of problems! ;)
Centcomm 27th Feb 2015, 11:11 PM edit delete reply

LOL well there is that... :D
Draginbeard 27th Feb 2015, 6:48 PM edit delete reply

Ugh... Seeing all these great people passing is a reminder how little time we all really have.
Lukkai 27th Feb 2015, 10:26 PM edit delete reply
On the other hand, 83 is not all that few in years.

But he will be missed. And thus I send a last salute to the actor, the inspiration, the good man that he was.
I draw my hat before you, good sir.
Dragonrider 27th Feb 2015, 11:00 PM edit delete reply

One thing you forgot in his credits of life, Poet. Leonard Nimoy wrote a book of beautiful poetry, one I gave my Wife for Valentines day many years ago. He also was a larger than life character in the closing seasons of Mission Impossible as the character of Paris. We are much better for the joy, mystery and entertainment he brought to our lives. We have lost an idol, a larger than life figure and so we offer one last "Live Long and Prosper" to the man we admired.
Centcomm 27th Feb 2015, 11:10 PM edit delete reply

I know .. I just feel horrid about it. its thrown off my whole day. ( except for one bright spot - winks at Draginbeard )
Lukkai 27th Feb 2015, 10:27 PM edit delete reply
"Irene's here?"

That does fill me with a certain amount of dread and worry, considering Decimus' latest moods.
Centcomm 27th Feb 2015, 11:09 PM edit delete reply

do you really think the prince is THAT stupid.. after all what happened to the man who hurt her last is STILL being talked about .. and Deck got a first hand recounting if you recall ..
Lukkai 28th Feb 2015, 9:15 PM edit delete reply
Do I think he's <i>that</i> stupid?

When he's calm and everything goes fine for him? No. Definitely not.

When he's got one of his episodes and goes full time crazy? Definitely yes.
Centcomm 28th Feb 2015, 9:43 PM edit delete reply

Okay you have a point there :P
gmg2dave 28th Feb 2015, 11:52 PM edit delete reply

Irene DEAD serves no purpose other than to piss Maximus off and leads to a severely maimed or dead Deci, but Irene as a HOSTAGE against Maximus, that's a whole other ball game Centcomm. I.e. Behave, do exactly as I say, or she suffers the consequences of you're disobedience. That's a pretty powerful motivator. Is Deci smart enough to do this, I dunno, but I think he might be...
Sheela 1st Mar 2015, 12:00 AM edit delete reply

I suspect Maxus has already considered the possibility that someone might some day try to blackmail him with Irene's safety, and I bet he has taken steps to solve that possibility even before it happens.

He has not become a general for being stupid.
XMinusOne 28th Feb 2015, 12:11 AM edit delete reply
"Beam him up, Scotty."

Can't you just see it at the Pearly Gates:

"What is this place? It's not the bridge."

""You're bein' in Heaven, Mr. Spock."

"Indeed, Mr. Scott? Given my surroundings, it appears that is logical. What do you say, Doctor?"

"I'm a doctor, not a theologian, Mr. Spock."
Dragonrider 28th Feb 2015, 11:47 AM edit delete reply

Indeed, well said Mr. XMinusOne.
Centcomm 28th Feb 2015, 12:23 PM edit delete reply
