I was not anticipating a revolt. I also did not know that Malati was even capable of doing this. We shall see!
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:36 PM edit delete reply

Malati is full of surprises :D
Sheela 11th Mar 2015, 8:15 PM edit delete reply

Noctis doesn't seem surprised at all.
In fact, she seems rather pelased with Malati.
Dragonrider 10th Mar 2015, 9:06 PM edit delete reply

Someone does not like their assignment? What is happening did a Cassian Spark or has one been subverted? BTW what were the assassination assignments?
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:38 PM edit delete reply

Cassians already have a spark .. its what gives them creativity and will. They have inhibitors that are used to keep them in line.
IF they stray too far.

as for the targets .. all will be made clear :D
Lukkai 11th Mar 2015, 8:38 AM edit delete reply
I guess second guessing orders they don't believe to be reasonable is not yet straying too far then.
Seems most Cassians never bother though.
Sheela 12th Mar 2015, 5:06 AM edit delete reply

Well, most cassians don't have a problem with authority figures.

Malati is such a unique snowflake, that she's an icecream cone snowflake!
velvetsanity 10th Mar 2015, 9:27 PM edit delete reply

I knew there was a reason I liked Malati so much
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:38 PM edit delete reply

Because shes awesome?
velvetsanity 11th Mar 2015, 3:40 AM edit delete reply

Because she doesn't just blindly follow orders, and because she calls it as she sees it. So, yes. She is awesome.
velvetsanity 11th Mar 2015, 8:51 AM edit delete reply

Also, as of this page, I'm hearing Malati's lines in the voice of Alyssa Wilmoth Keegan (stage actress in Washington DC, and also voices Cynna Weaver in Graphic Audio's productions of the World of the Lupi series)
Centcomm 11th Mar 2015, 10:26 AM edit delete reply

I dont know this person :D
velvetsanity 11th Mar 2015, 1:26 PM edit delete reply

Probably because she primarily does theater in D.C., other than VA work
cattservant 10th Mar 2015, 9:39 PM edit delete reply

The first overt loose rail in this impending train wreck.
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:39 PM edit delete reply

Oh trust me .. this thing is building speed :D
Lukkai 11th Mar 2015, 8:39 AM edit delete reply
So did Shoemaker-Levy 9 when closing in on Jupiter.

And we all know how well THAT went down!
Centcomm 11th Mar 2015, 10:26 AM edit delete reply

velvetsanity 11th Mar 2015, 8:43 AM edit delete reply

Loose rail? More like Malati just threw a switch to send the train onto an unused line that hasn't been repaired in 50 or so years :D
Sheela 11th Mar 2015, 8:08 PM edit delete reply

Malati's rails were never too straight to begin with. XD
MST3KFan 10th Mar 2015, 9:40 PM edit delete reply

Someone has a mouth. O_o
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:39 PM edit delete reply

Thats for sure :D
mjkj 10th Mar 2015, 10:19 PM edit delete reply

Ah, rebellion...
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:40 PM edit delete reply

sweet sweet sound of .. NO!
mjkj 11th Mar 2015, 8:01 AM edit delete reply

Lukkai 11th Mar 2015, 8:42 AM edit delete reply
Why do certain scenes from several Planet of the Apes movies suddenly come to mind?
Sheela 12th Mar 2015, 5:07 AM edit delete reply

Getting Malati to start saying "no" is the easy part.
Making her stop, on the other hand ...
ProfEtheric 10th Mar 2015, 10:42 PM edit delete reply

Yes! Go, Malati, go! (Someone just became my favorite Cassian!)

Of course, her time may be very short now... but I hope not.
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:40 PM edit delete reply

Oh these next few pages .. will be quite enlighting :D
Dongaria 10th Mar 2015, 10:57 PM edit delete reply

Red Eyes rules. Let's see more of her please. ;)
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:41 PM edit delete reply

That would be Nox. You will get to see more of her soon :D
Draginbeard 10th Mar 2015, 11:37 PM edit delete reply

Hard to tell what Malati is objecting to. It might be that this plan is going against her programming in some way.

Im starting to notice that she sounds more and more like Teedee. Same sense of humor, and growing use of profanity.

Im wondering if their personalities arent modeled from the same loose circut?
Centcomm 10th Mar 2015, 11:42 PM edit delete reply

Both of them share a similar vocabulary .. however Malati does not casually curse as much. Teedee is a walking profanity factory.

What Malati is objecting to will be very clear on the next page or two :D
Timotheus 10th Mar 2015, 11:53 PM edit delete reply

A sense of humor is often an indication of the ability to assess a situation and determine its logical inconsistencies. This would lead her to feel calling a fubar mission exactly as she sees it to be her duty. Especially if she respects the person who is being set up to take the fall.
Centcomm 11th Mar 2015, 2:22 AM edit delete reply

correct. Malati has never been one to keep her mouth shut on calling something as foul.
Lukkai 11th Mar 2015, 8:45 AM edit delete reply
To a good leader, this might actually be an asset.
velvetsanity 11th Mar 2015, 8:59 AM edit delete reply

I wouldn't be surprised if the weirder the sense of humor, the more true that is, Timotheus
Cperka 11th Mar 2015, 12:44 AM edit delete reply

Is it Cassians, or has the visual quality of the strip gotten better lately? I especially like Kali in the last strip <3
Centcomm 11th Mar 2015, 2:22 AM edit delete reply

Thanks .. its the same lighting and methods Ive been using glad it looks good!
DLKmusic 11th Mar 2015, 2:42 AM edit delete reply

Awesome!!! It's one thing to think it might happen, but quite another to actually see it happen.

Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:37 PM edit delete reply

hehe :D
VanEzzania 11th Mar 2015, 6:23 AM edit delete reply

Awww shit, Malati!
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:37 PM edit delete reply

Yep Our dear Malati is calling it as she sees it.
jas 11th Mar 2015, 6:59 AM edit delete reply

Malati, the Picard of Datachasers! Wait, what?? XD
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:37 PM edit delete reply

I know crazy huh?
Skweeee 11th Mar 2015, 7:03 AM edit delete reply

There is just so much bad assery on this page!!!
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:38 PM edit delete reply

Thank you - Thank you ! :D
KarToon12 11th Mar 2015, 7:28 AM edit delete reply

Here I thought Kali was a bit creepy looking, until I remembered these guys, and now seeing them lined up next to her, Kali almost looks the most normal. XD
Hornet 11th Mar 2015, 9:00 AM edit delete reply
Yeah the blondes especially would fit right in with your typical zombie horde.
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:38 PM edit delete reply

Yeah most of the Cassians are pretty creepy .. Hrist is one of the more normal ones :D
velvetsanity 11th Mar 2015, 9:18 AM edit delete reply

I can't help but wonder if Noctis intended to blindly follow orders, wasn't sure if she should speak up about the orders being wrong, or simply kept quiet because she'd known Malati would call bullshit on them...
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:38 PM edit delete reply

Noctis never does anything "blindly " trust me :D
XMinusOne 11th Mar 2015, 10:40 AM edit delete reply
IMO Malati's programming is calling bullshit on Price Douchebags orders as they are a crime against the State of Nova Roma and therefore unlawful. Whether Kali and the others have processed this yet isn't evident, but I'm reasonably sure Malati will bring them up to speed. Kali's rather doubtful as to Prince Charming's governing skills already, so she probably won't take much convincing.
Sheela 11th Mar 2015, 8:12 PM edit delete reply

It's not a question of convincing, as much as a problem of subverting the programming.
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:39 PM edit delete reply

Also keep in mind Andriods in DC have actual minds as much as programming. its the spark that makes them more than just a robot or silly computer ..
Hornet 11th Mar 2015, 1:28 PM edit delete reply
Hmm.. wonder if Ceci has been outfitted with a program to effect androids.
Tokyo Rose 11th Mar 2015, 3:18 PM edit delete reply

If by "affect" you mean "throw down with in a gnarly fight", then yes. :D
Stormwind13 11th Mar 2015, 3:44 PM edit delete reply

Very much so, Hornet. CeCi could probably tear an gynoid like Connie in two without breaking a sweat. How she will fare against the Cassians remains to be seen.

I'm thinking as CeCi is a weapon system, instead of a weapon of terror, she can probably take any one of them on and win. How she'll fare against a swarm of Cassians though is lots more problematic.
Hornet 11th Mar 2015, 5:23 PM edit delete reply
No, I know she's a BlackAngel and would basically destroy herself to take out opposition. Was thinking more overt like a good type virus.
Hornet 11th Mar 2015, 5:25 PM edit delete reply
afterall she did have some personal "me time" with both Malati and Noctis when they dropped off the waster.
Sheela 12th Mar 2015, 5:10 AM edit delete reply

Yeah, but we're talking about CeCi here .. she would like to have some "me time" with a tumbleweed.
A fine looking pair of cassians lika that, she would love to have a *lot* of "me time" with, that's for sure.

I suspect her "pleasure bot" programming came out stronger than Centcomm intented it to be. She *loves* people! :)
Marcus Ramesy 12th Mar 2015, 6:41 PM edit delete reply

there is a reason why my first reaction was to terminate her before finding out that she sparked... and im still not fully convinced but I trust Dr Silver and have to take her word for it..... just remember... if a Black Angel is sent on a mission, no force on this planet baring a cease and desist command from New Troy, or... a rock for luna... will stop her.. I cant speak for the Cassians, but.. my money is on the Angels...
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:40 PM edit delete reply

Points at Roses comment :D
Sheela 12th Mar 2015, 5:58 PM edit delete reply

hrmm .. throw down in a naked fight then ? XD
JustNoPoint 11th Mar 2015, 6:52 PM edit delete reply

She cut out a word when she repeated herself!
Tell us how you really feel Malati.
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:40 PM edit delete reply

Oh.,. she will.. wait till tomorrow :D she gets really creative :D
Rashala 12th Mar 2015, 1:40 PM edit delete reply

Even custom built and specialy programed armed and trained Assasin bots can smell BS orders when goiven just like human can You go Girl!
Centcomm 12th Mar 2015, 2:41 PM edit delete reply

Yep - they can :D
Sheela 12th Mar 2015, 5:59 PM edit delete reply

Aw, we lost Terry Pratchett too ? :(
