and now we get a glimpse of team Kill-Em-All in the locker room! And what's this? They're bringing Unremembered into the match?! I tell you folks, this is going to be the most chaotic Urban Brawl World Championship in the history of the game! I can't wait to see how Rising Sun is going to adjust their strategy after the dinner incident, that definitely didnt look like part of their plans.
For those just joining us, here's a quick rundown of the teams that are in it so far: the Cassians, Kill-Em-All, the dynamic duo of Pink & Blue, the Praetorians (who appear to be allying with the Cassians so far), Rising Sun, and now it looks like Unremembered will be added to the list. It remains to be seen whether Sparta will have time to field a team this close to the Championship. With all these teams being involved, it's anyone's match at this point! Stay tuned for more of the Urban Brawl World Championship pre-game show!
From what we've already seen, that does seem to be a key part of Rising Sun's strategy, Franc, but they did just find themselves in need of a change of plans with the loss of the assist they'd borrowed from Sparta! I guess we'll have to wait for another glimpse of them in the locker room to know for sure if the alliance will happen or not.
I have to say, though, it's starting to look like this year's Championship is going to be more of a Royal Rumble than the Battle Royale everyone was expecting, with the leader of the Praetorians as everyone's primary target.
Rumor has it that the only thing holding the Praetorian-Cassian alliance together at this point is some dirt the Praetorians have on them, and this is also the first time that securing a single person, one Miss Lynn Taylor, has been the victory condition, so this should definitely be an interesting match!
I'm pretty sure that Kyle was NOT Rose's only tie-in, velvet. She has agents everywhere, remember? So she may need Team Pink & Blue even more than she did previously. Get Acantha clear, then have her hire a repair team when she is firmly in power. Rose is ready to shift focus on the turn of the card.
Of course let's not forget that Team Kill-Em-All's doctor made Pink and Blue's entry to the match possible. Are they going to co-ordinate or get in each other's way? What will happen to the doctor?
Well just have to wait and see how it plays out, Franc, but so far I don't think most of the teams even know about each other aside from the Praetorians and Cassians, but with Rising Sun's history, I wouldn't be surprised if they know everything they need about all of the teams to come out smelling like roses when it's all over!
However, the Cassians do suspect Pink and Blue. That could lead them to Team Rising Sun? Then again, that could lead to a bigger diversion for Team Kill-Em-All.
Of course, the target could withdraw with Team Sister to the safe zone? If that happens, with Sparta's known candidate out of the game, Team Rising Sun may not be able to gain acccess. However, I suspect that Team Sister will want to stay on the pitch.
And don't forget the ultimate wildcard that is in play!
Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, friends of the wholesome civilised slaughter: He. Is. Here!
The four times champion, the juggernaut, the general himself has graced us with his presence! Right at the centre of the playfield to boot. And guess what? In true wildcard fashion, his affiliation is not fully clear.
Oh yes, we are indeed in for a rout! For chaos of the best kind. Stay tuned! And don't blink!
I think it's premature to count out team Praetorian, and it's doubly-premature to count out prince SFB. He has home-field advantage, and it'll be hard to take away his shared-suicide contingency. His long-term strategic position is crashing rapidly as he piles up ill-will and enemies in geometric progresion, but in the current scenario he's holding a pretty good hand and he can press all the other teams with time-pressures more than they can press him.
To be fair, it will be easier for everybody else to find him since it's his home territory with his home-field issues. That said, it almost doesn't matter unless one of the other teams is just going for a radioactive-crater finish. It will require a stunning combination of resources, organization, collaboration and special circumstances to make even a fair play at taking down prince SFB and everybody is operating under time-crunch pressure. I put the odds of a decisive victory against him as either low if he can manage to stop reading the Evil Overlord don't list as a to-do list, or the result of successful collaboration between nearly every other team in existence. When you realize that most of the teams don't even know who all is participating in the event you have to lowball the odds of that actually happening for anything short of a fairy godmother showing up to play queenmaker.
I'm skeptical of that one, Franc. It looks to me like team Rising Sun's involvement is already more ambitious than they have the players for, and rumours to date say they only were planning an extraction of Acantha on top of making a play to support the darkhorse team of Aeneas.
With the Kyle injury situation though, maybe team Sparta will be calling up some farm-team reserves we don't know about and getting involved. I mean, a play like that by the Praetorian team's captain is gonna have repercussions and the news is still spreading through the league management.
I think you may be right, HiFranc. TeeDee's definition of civilian is probably fairly flexible. Especially for anyone related to those responsible for shooting her down (Nova Roma hired those gutters). If they run away AND aren't in uniform, don't shoot them. Everything else, lock and load.
Actually if people remember despite Teedees verbal comments shes actually a very highly dedicated member of S&R She would not be that if she actually failed to save people ..
And let us not forget good old Luna. We know they have agents on the ground, they are aware of the situation, have been able to follow the diplomatic exchanges (you know dang well those transmissions were monitored), and are not above putting their oar in the pond as it were if it suits their policies (trade, stability, no further glazing of mother earth, keeping Centcom's toys locked away).
Wow. I don't even have a CLUE how Connie would pull that off, Sheela. I think she wants to stay with Mr. Black. And I can't see him giving up his wandering ways (for long).
She wouldn't be the one pulling anything off.
She would just be strolling down the street, helping some hapless android and *whammo*!!
Out of the blue she becomes the Grand Empress of all Androids!
You'd be *amazed* what you can slip past a customs inspector in (what looks like) an item of harmless clothing. That's not a 'cowboy tie"...that's a bolo combat unit.
I may have to retract a statement I made about you and Mr. Bond above, Mr. Black. IFF you can pull a Bolo Unit out of that tie then I would have to at least consider you as a Bond like character. :-D
*waits til the wall is done and handing Acantha lynn dolly and Co some gloves to protect their hands and goggles ALWAYS WEAR GOGGELS CHILDREN. Helps them push the wall over to flatten DEci
Think about that for a little while. If you flatten Decimus as-is a large chunk of the rest of New Rome's citizens go with him. So we need to proceed backwards from what it takes to prevent that to where we are now: Aeneas has to undo the safeguards, which requires restoring Aeneas. That requires getting the smuggled robotics out of Kyle's remains to Aeneas's core AND convincing Aeneas to cooperate with exposing what's left of himself to foreign robots. That seems to require collaboration between the Japanese team and Aeneas, probably involving princess Acantha along the way.
It's a little dubious to even get that far, I'd say. If you manage that you still have to take down 'Imperator Decimus.' That requires avoiding, subverting, circumventing or otherwise nullifying Decimus' robots, the Praetorian guard and the regular, human security and military forces of Nova Roma. Awful prospect, you're talking about urban warfare in hazardous territory against an opponent on their home-ground. That's not too easily distinguishable from genocide since you'll end up killing lots of people no matter how you try to accomplish that unless Decimus continues acting like a moron and commits short-term suicide as well as the long-term suicide he's already committed to.
Well, I do have to admit that of all the teams out there my fave characters are(in no real order), Connie, Blue, Cici, Acantha, and Lynn. While the guys are not bad, They just have not twigged my empathy as well as the above ladies.
Don't get me wrong, Mr Black and Marcus are pretty cool, but I need to see more development from them. While they are not 2D, I just don't feel the same depth for them as many of the ladies.
Connie has not had as much screen time, but she has been through a lot already and I find I can relate to what she has experienced. At least I think I can(darned white knight in me I think).
Lol the cars are climbing the next hill still. Darned roller coasters do not aleays do what you expect them to!
Actually, the guys in the story that I can Show empathy for?
Maxus, Setorus, Mr. Black. All three of them are pretty well developed, although Mr. Black is mystery by design... he really does have that whole "loveable Rogue" act down well...
Maxus is the Gentle Giant. Even the most bloodthirsty of the Cassians respect and admire him.
and Setorus? Try as I might, I can't NOT like the guy.
That's what's so funny about it. He's supposed to be creepy, instead, he's a hard working, sensible man who cares about his patients.
Even his asking Petronilla for a new glass of water and some salt in the last panel was a way to get her out of panic mode because she now had something to do.
I don't think that was the whole reason as to why he asked her for those.
But I do agree that Setorius, even though he shouldn't be, is very likeable in his own way. Probably also because he's setting such an excellent counterpoint, characterwise, to just about anyone else. He is in one word: Interesting.
Nope, Setorius didn't give the tiniest shit if Petronilla was panicking. He just wanted a clean glass and the salt, and slaves in the palace are expected to jump when someone says "frog". :D
Epic, Prof? I think it is going to rank ABOVE that before the mess and body count ends.
It will smoke Hot Shots! Part Deux... I won't be surprised if the count passes Lord of the Ring: Return of the King even! :-D I expect it will be less than the Enterprise episode, Twilight though. Since I expect SOMETHING to be left of the Earth.
Nothing more ironic, than having Drekhead obliterate himself with a space rock. :)
I'll admit I'm not very imaginative myself... But how about, for example, him becoming the only victim of his own contingencies? :-)
Plus, I've never seen Mr. Black pull out a gun (something Bond does frequently)... or a boat out of his tie (or some OTHER fantastic gadget). :-D
Well at least in the older Bond (haven't kept up on the new stuff) the toys were just toys the attitude was what did the real work.

Back to you, velvet!

I blame yoooouuuu, Franc!
{edit}
TR: TeeDee, you shall have a murder turd as a pet.
(edited for family listening)
However, I also remember the glee in which she presented the story of the murder-turd's rampage. Therefore, I stand by my assessment.
as for the murder turd she really hates the Nova Roma guys .. esp after how Connie was treated :D
Yes, Connie, it is. *hugs Connie*
Soon it will be announced: alea iacta est...
Lynn's grandparents !
And who knows, she may end up the Grand Empress of all New Rome androids .. by pure accident.
She would just be strolling down the street, helping some hapless android and *whammo*!!
Out of the blue she becomes the Grand Empress of all Androids!
Just like that.
Because she's so sweet. :)
And is it from the Dinochrome Brigade?
Who are the 'Unremembered?' I don't (and I hate to even say this) remember hearing of them before.
I thought my mind had gone null and void again.
