hehe :D I like it too :D

She looks so modern but there still is the blood mask.
Face & hair do look right & good.
velvetsanity 16th Apr 2015, 9:17 PM edit delete reply

Speaking of the mask...are you sure she's not actually a pro wrestler? ^_~
Centcomm 16th Apr 2015, 11:16 PM edit delete reply

Im glad she looks ok :D
Confettirainbowpony 16th Apr 2015, 10:47 PM edit delete reply

Hey!! You CAN do it!! Lololol!! XD and she looks amazing!!! *__*<3
Centcomm 16th Apr 2015, 11:16 PM edit delete reply

YAY! Im very glad of that! More cameos are planned :D
Dragonrider 17th Apr 2015, 12:04 AM edit delete reply

Ya know this was a great idea before the dinner party. Now all it will accomplish is getting Acantha and Lynn locked down tighter and it doesn't take into consideration Lynn ain't leaving without Acantha and Acantha ain't leaving until SFB is locked up so far from human interaction he will never see the light of day or the light of the moon. Well he might see the moon if he has a mirror, drops trou and looks over his shoulder.
anonymous coward 17th Apr 2015, 9:41 AM edit delete reply
The authors have to put in some excuses to be worried the protagonists won't win, otherwise there's no drama or suspense. I mean really, they wouldn't go to all this trouble to introduce so many people and entire factions that Decimus is just gonna end up killing or capturing before they can accomplish anything: Law of conservation of detail and all.
Until Kyle died I thought most people identified as team not-Caligula also had impervium-grade plot armour too, but I'm not sure how to read how minor a character Kyle was to analyze that.
Pirtnac 18th Apr 2015, 9:48 AM edit delete reply
I don't know what the original plot was all those years ago... but remember that the comic started BEFORE Game of Thrones reminded everyone you can take a sickle to your cast and still have a story.

This'll be interesting.
Centcomm 17th Apr 2015, 2:31 PM edit delete reply

wai for it.. all will be revealed soon :D
ProfEtheric 17th Apr 2015, 12:12 AM edit delete reply

Awesome cameo!

It's going to be TERRIBLY interesting to see all these plans go down... :)

Five-star rating, because I see no particular thing I would change.
Centcomm 17th Apr 2015, 2:31 PM edit delete reply

it will probably wind up in a firefly style cluster fuck :D
highlander55 17th Apr 2015, 6:31 PM edit delete reply

Cent I'm sure you don't mean it will end suddenly like Firefly. Serenity was a tease but exceptionally worth watching! I have it on DVD.
CptKerion 18th Apr 2015, 6:26 PM edit delete reply
So what Cent is saying is that we're going to get a massive battle between several different factions with the protagonist corps using it as a distraction to punch their way through.
Howard 17th Apr 2015, 1:48 AM edit delete reply
They down Rated the comic?! I will kick them in there virtual no no zones!! They may have got to that dark chapter near the beginning. If I am being honest I have to say I nearly walked away there, to dark for me. But I knew lunar star was awesome, so I kept going and I am glad I did!
Stormwind13 17th Apr 2015, 5:06 AM edit delete reply

Talking about Mockingbird, Howard? I agree that it is DARK; however, I still had to give it 5 stars. It was WELL done. Once I got through it, I never wanted to read it again! It was so dark, such nightmare fuel that I don't feel the need to subject myself to it again. But it was well done.
Centcomm 17th Apr 2015, 2:30 PM edit delete reply

Yes .. Mockingbird.. the most hated/loved segment.. :D wait till I redo it :D

mjkj 17th Apr 2015, 4:13 AM edit delete reply

Wow, nice party ingredients...

...though is that really still necessary after all the distraction the late kyle did?

*lol* Two-Cells - well, Marcus, you needed to make a pun - it backfired ^_^

Timeline-wise when does that happen? same time as the shooting? before? or after?

Oh, there are people who downvote DC??? Woah...

Centcomm 17th Apr 2015, 2:30 PM edit delete reply

At the same time as "dinner" is going on .. roughly
Stormwind13 17th Apr 2015, 5:17 AM edit delete reply

I'm wondering if it was an accident, Centcomm. I know I had a 1 star vote on a page. I went to put in a comment, and at the bottom it has buttons for voting. So I put in a comment & somehow got down on the buttons. The first button apparently was lit, when I submitted. When I went to vote, it showed a 1 star vote. And it wouldn't let me change it!

Now I vote on pages I like, 5 stars. If I don't like a page, I don't vote on it. More careful now too.
Centcomm 17th Apr 2015, 2:29 PM edit delete reply

it could be .. but its been happening on a number of pages .. and I dont mind if someone doesn't like something .. just would like to know WHY :D

"The party don't start 'till I walk in." XD

lalverson 17th Apr 2015, 9:50 AM edit delete reply
Well done as usual but a critical point. Marcus's eyes in the last to looked "Off" to me. but it's just me.
Centcomm 17th Apr 2015, 2:28 PM edit delete reply

Yeah .. I think its just the lighting ..
anonymous coward 17th Apr 2015, 11:22 AM edit delete reply
I just noticed something that seems... off. Shouldn't the fabric of Kathryn's shirt (sweater?) stretch between the breasts instead of conforming to her cleavage gap? I'm not saying that clothes that stretch like that aren't possible--I've had a seamstress explain to me at length various methods of trying to do things like it--but it does take more effort. Most people wouldn't bother unless they specifically want their clothes to show independent boob jiggle or something. I suppose I can't count out the possibility that it becomes a fashion trend at some point when custom clothes design and construction for endowed women is easy, but it still seems really weird.
Stormwind13 17th Apr 2015, 12:00 PM edit delete reply

I have a feeling that may have more to do with the model designers than any statement being made by the character or artist, anonymous. :-)
Hornet 17th Apr 2015, 12:02 PM edit delete reply
Think it's a failure of the software, clothes appear to be little more than "painted" on.
HiFranc 17th Apr 2015, 12:22 PM edit delete reply

Whenever I see anything that doesn't conform to expectations I just assume that clothes in the future have different properties to today's. After all, I would expect that they would have invented new materials by the time of this story.
Centcomm 17th Apr 2015, 12:58 PM edit delete reply

actually thats a limitation of the software .. he shir shes wearing is a separate model but it super conforms to her body other items are modeled with the "uniboob" like Acantha's sweater and some of the coats.. I use what I can to vary the wardrobe up :D
anonymous coward 17th Apr 2015, 3:07 PM edit delete reply
Interesting, I didn't know that was specifically one of the limitations of the software. I guess I should take another look in five years to see what the bleeding-edge limits are then: I'm hoping to see it becomes easy to make a 3D model of an area with just a few, quick, automated pan shots.
Tokyo Rose 18th Apr 2015, 5:17 PM edit delete reply

There are very few clothing models that are designed to fit more naturally on the body, especially around the bosom area. The basic tittie topography is complex even before you factor in the number of third-party morph packs available to fine-tune the shaping*. It's just more "universal" to create a piece of clothing that fits very tightly, even though it doesn't make for a natural appearance. There are some tools for sale that can be used to lessen or eliminate the "shrink-wrap" effect, but they don't work with every character figure or clothing model.

* Mostly--and I know this will shock everyone's monocles clean off--for the purposes of creating erotica.

Seriously, I don't understand poser pornography when there's pretty much endless real-life photography pornography to find if its your job to keep track of what other people do. The only real niches for it I can imagine is gore-porn and physically impossible things that can't even be staged well with trick photography and editing.
HiFranc 19th Apr 2015, 8:16 PM edit delete reply

From the creator's point of view:

No actors(resses) to pay, no need to spend money (including paying rent on a property) building sets, costumes, makeup, etc.

From the reader's point of view:

It could be the construction of the story is important to the reader and the medium is secondary. It could be that the reader is a fan of SciFi and/or Fantasy and wants to read stories in those genres.

{edit} Similarly, a person could ask: Why read comics when there are books, films, etc? Why read webcomics? Why read Poser webcomics? Etc.
chk 17th Apr 2015, 3:12 PM edit delete reply

Failure? I love it.
Caley Tibbittz Collopy 19th Apr 2015, 10:23 AM edit delete reply

It matches Kathryn's form-fitting armor in Eternal Knights, so it works out really well for this cameo.
chk 17th Apr 2015, 3:10 PM edit delete reply

Why on earth would anyone down rate this comic? As best as I can tell, it's the best on the web.
Vivocateur 17th Apr 2015, 3:21 PM edit delete reply

Aha!
I recognized her at once.
Great cameo :)
Caley Tibbittz Collopy 19th Apr 2015, 10:30 AM edit delete reply

Me too! It's so nice to see Cheetara as a brunette...
DLKmusic 17th Apr 2015, 5:20 PM edit delete reply

I don't understand the downgrade either. I personally think that as far as the 3D rendered comics go, the artwork here is the most naturally posed of all the ones I've read.

As for the content, even at it's darkest, is IMO scripted as well as anything out there.

Although apples and oranges, you have Star Wars space opera crossed with the dialog and character development of "To Kill a Mockingbird".

So, in summation, to the Haters I say "pffffffht"
Haegan2005 17th Apr 2015, 5:22 PM edit delete reply

Ah, nothing like party favors to make yourself popular!

Looks like we may have a civil war on our hands guys!
Stormwind13 17th Apr 2015, 6:03 PM edit delete reply

Or at least a coup attempt, Haegan. Not sure 700 guns is enough for a war, no matter how civil it might be.

Of course, Kathryn might be bringing her OWN party favors too, then the war might be on. :-D
Deo 17th Apr 2015, 6:53 PM edit delete reply

My two cents.

talking about "what can i improve stuff", sometimes the mouths in your characters generate light(like on the last panel), and the general lightning may be too dim/coming from weird angles(on the first panel, the collar of the dude in the left is reflecting light, meanwhile the armor of the other dude isn't).
Tokyo Rose 18th Apr 2015, 7:37 AM edit delete reply

"Mouth glow" is an incredibly common problem with DAZ Studio/Poser. The cause for it is well-known.

For each light in a scene, you select whether it casts shadows or not. In a given scene, you need fill or ambient lights to brighten the scene instead of winding up with an unnatural-looking "spotlight" effect, but you do not want all of your lights to cast shadows. It can cause very unwanted and ugly results, as well as stretching the render time out to an unacceptable degree or even causing crashes, if there are too many conflicting shadow patterns.

However, when you set a light to cast no shadows, that light radiates through objects almost as if they're transparent, lighting the surfaces without accurately calculating for darker or lighter areas depending on how much of a given surface would catch the light. Interior surfaces, like mouth and nostril cavities, are also lit by non-shadowing lights, and that's what causes those areas to "glow". The shadowing lights offset the effect to some degree and at some angles, but they can't completely eliminate it.

So far, there really isn't a fix for this. About all anyone can do is either tinker with the settings for the mouth surfaces to darken them, or postwork an image by painting shadows in the mouths, and it's very hard to make that look good.

As for the first panel, it has to do with the way the surfaces are set up to interact with lights. Marcus's armor isn't reflecting much because it's a dull, matte black surface, while Mister Black's shirt collar is a white linen-like fabric.
Deo 18th Apr 2015, 10:22 AM edit delete reply

that's sad to hear. have you tried using another render engine for the renders?

Centcomm 18th Apr 2015, 1:14 PM edit delete reply

I like the Daz render engine because of its speed .. I dont want to wait 2 days for a render - or 20 to 30 hours.. Ill try to minimize it as best I can :D
Tokyo Rose 18th Apr 2015, 5:19 PM edit delete reply

There are a couple of render engines available, but as Cent points out, they tend to extend render times to a degree that's simply unfeasible.
velvetsanity 18th Apr 2015, 8:45 PM edit delete reply

It's been a while since I poked at the mouth glow issue, but IIRC the solution I found was to turn off subsurface scatter in the shaders for the mouth parts
Sheela 19th Apr 2015, 3:53 PM edit delete reply

One day .. one sunny day in the future, our computers will be fast enough to do raytracing rendering at fast speeds, and stuff like mouthglow will become a thing of the past!
Draginbeard 17th Apr 2015, 9:21 PM edit delete reply

That much hardware...this sounds like they are mounting a pretty solid offensive!
Centcomm 18th Apr 2015, 1:15 PM edit delete reply

yep wait till yo see next week ! :D
Stormwind13 19th Apr 2015, 10:26 AM edit delete reply

Against the military might of Nova Roma, Draginbeard? I wouldn't consider it more than a half decent START. It might be more than you would find at any one POINT, but I would expect that Nova Roma could mobilize a whole lot MORE in fairly short order. And they have things that fly seen here and here too. So Nova Roma forces could be on top of the 'rebels' before they could advance too far. I wouldn't like their chances against armor or air cavalry with light weapons. Especially when they would be outnumbered (by that count of weapons at least).

And that completely ignores the Cassians. I think 10 Cassians might be equal to that entire weapons load in the hands of amateurs at least. Most of the rebels will have conviction and spirit, but likely very little training.
Timotheus 17th Apr 2015, 11:32 PM edit delete reply

I have no idea how one would rate a comic, up, down, or sideways. So don't blame me.
(I do vote FOR it on a regular basis.)
Centcomm 18th Apr 2015, 1:15 PM edit delete reply

I appreciate it
Skweeee 18th Apr 2015, 8:29 AM edit delete reply

I agree with you on the down vote thing. I would like it if any bad score would not be accepted until a prompted text box was filled. We are here to learn.

Also, sometimes I've seen that some people have accidentally hit the wrong button. There needs to be an edit button for the ratings.
Centcomm 18th Apr 2015, 1:16 PM edit delete reply

yes im thinking its proably a misclick too .. but occasionally there have been a few trolls :D
Caley Tibbittz Collopy 19th Apr 2015, 6:28 AM edit delete reply

She looks FANTASTIC.

Am I reading it right -- Eternal Knights was a TV show in the DataChasers-verse? If so, that's awesome.
Johninaustin 19th Apr 2015, 8:28 AM edit delete reply
I don't see how anyone could down rate this place, I'd think about going with user error.

Also, I just HAVE to work the line. "The basic tittie topography is complex" into a conversation somehow.
Centcomm 19th Apr 2015, 10:51 AM edit delete reply

Yep all the CF cameos that are going to happen are due to "fictional" shows :D EK just happens to be one of Marcus's child hood favorites :D
Caley Tibbittz Collopy 19th Apr 2015, 10:09 PM edit delete reply

That's because Marcus has good taste!
Twistedfro 19th Apr 2015, 6:59 PM edit delete reply
