Yup, they don't need any more confusion, they've got plenty.
Sheela 21st Jul 2015, 9:24 PM edit delete reply

Nah, confusion has barely even begun .. just wait until TeeDee and Dolly both start adding to the confusion in each their own respective ways.

And then .. Aeneas starts singing over the loudspeakers across Nova Roma.
THEN they will have plenty of confusion! :)
Pirtnac 21st Jul 2015, 9:37 PM edit delete reply
I imagine Aeneas' singing sounding like System of A Down doing children's audio books.

...Which totally needs to happen now.

Democlus seems to be pretty smart. Unfortunately it appears everyone on the planet knows 4 AM is the prime moment to do unwanted things to imperial palaces.

Also Acantha has just gone open carry? I thought the idea with Aeneas' stealth gun was that it could be concealed...
velvetsanity 21st Jul 2015, 10:55 PM edit delete reply

Aeneas has always reminded me more of Jim Morrison. In fact, if him singing were to suddenly blare over loudspeakers or a city-wide PA system, I would not at all be surprised if he were to do a karaoke of The End
Sheela 22nd Jul 2015, 3:05 AM edit delete reply

Eh, as long as he isn't singing anything from Rage against the Machine, hearing Aeneas go all like "Freedom", would be fucking terrifying!

Well, having a drone army rock up on your doorstep, courtesy of Centcomm, all chanting "Burn burn, yes you're gonna burn!", would be just as bad.
Lukkai 22nd Jul 2015, 5:55 PM edit delete reply

Suddenly I'm thinking of www.schlockmercenary.com/2009-10-13.
That one guy 22nd Jul 2015, 5:55 PM edit delete reply
I think I'm hearing Aeneas go for REM's "End Of The World." Maybe dedicate it to Decimus first.
Melody_Whyte 22nd Jul 2015, 10:12 PM edit delete reply

Ten bucks says they each confuse each other for one of Douchimus' soldiers and beat the holy Hell out of each other for a cvouple pages.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 2:57 PM edit delete reply

wait for it.. there's more a coming
Sheela 23rd Jul 2015, 8:46 AM edit delete reply

Well duh .. Neither Dolly, nor Rose has even started adding to the confusion yet.

And Maxus probably have some confusion to add as well.
Lukkai 21st Jul 2015, 9:05 PM edit delete reply

Nothing like a big ass explosion some ways away from you to make for a good distraction.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 2:57 PM edit delete reply

Yep .. as long as you arent in it!
Lukkai 22nd Jul 2015, 5:57 PM edit delete reply

That's where the "some ways away from you" comes into play. ;)

Granted, depending on the yield used the minimum amount necessary for that "some ways" will vary.
jamie59 21st Jul 2015, 9:08 PM edit delete reply

Shift change has nothing on what's happin' now.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 2:58 PM edit delete reply

Oh I think it will be a all hands on deck thing now :D
The Old Scribe 21st Jul 2015, 9:14 PM edit delete reply

Annnd that would be Bidi opening the South Gate. I hope the crazy lil' cutie jumped before it hit. Then again, it's not her comic. Oh well, at least her goldfish was avenged ... and her cat ...and her dog ... and her parakeet ... and her family too.
HiFranc 22nd Jul 2015, 5:12 AM edit delete reply

Given that she talked about Decimus's purges just before that, there is more than one explanation. The way I see it:

1) She's parodying Decimus's excuses when he carries out purges or

2) She has lost her family through Decimus's purges.

Of course, these intepretations aren't mutually exclusive. I tend more to 1) though.
Sheela 22nd Jul 2015, 6:38 AM edit delete reply

42) shirt!

No really, that's all the reasoning that Bidi needs to blow up the gate.
chk 22nd Jul 2015, 1:46 PM edit delete reply

42?
DLKmusic 23rd Jul 2015, 11:59 AM edit delete reply

If you don't understand 42, Chk, you need to hand in your nerd card and your pocket protector. you can have them back after you finish reading hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, but not before.
Tokyo Rose 22nd Jul 2015, 7:23 PM edit delete reply

It's #2, actually. Keep in mind that Damnatio Memoriae uses holo-masks and assumed identities, usually lifted from movies, TV, and so on. NO ACTUAL BIDIS (OR THEIR FAMILIES) (OR DOGS OR GOLDFISH) WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS STRIP etc.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 2:58 PM edit delete reply

42. Ill go with that.
Lukkai 22nd Jul 2015, 5:58 PM edit delete reply

It is to answer to everything after all.
Sheela 23rd Jul 2015, 8:47 AM edit delete reply

Sheela 22nd Jul 2015, 5:14 AM edit delete reply

Oh yes .. this, so much!

The Plan(TM) is like an unstable house of cards caught in a sandstorm.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 2:59 PM edit delete reply

yep.. wonder what else will go wrong!
That one guy 22nd Jul 2015, 6:10 PM edit delete reply
My list of unlikely things to go wrong:

* Dolly's prototype body decides it's time for her to experience menopause.
* Marcus's stealth suit no longer helps when he has a sudden unexpected onset of Tourette Syndrome.
* TeeDee has a change of heart and decides violence is not the answer and quits in the middle of the rescue to go become a Buddhist Monk (or this era's equivalent).
* Ceci's conflicting systems cause her to be unable to stop doing jumping jacks, rendering her much less effective in a fight unless it's against straight human males.
* Centcomm accidentally routes her nuke launch authorization and targeting system to a dart board in a bar in the travel quarter.
* Connie turns out to be a plant all along, not by Centcomm, but by a previously unknown and hostile alien race that uses her to start taking over the ravaged Earth.
* Dr. Demark becomes Patient Zero for the zombie apocalypse.
* Epiphytes have a little known need every couple of millennia to kick ass and take names on a serious scale, causing Tulip to knock down the outer walls of New Rome as a start and keep going from there.
Lukkai 22nd Jul 2015, 6:01 PM edit delete reply

Doubly true because right now, I don't think there's any plan left going as it should. At least originally. Though some of the parties involved don't even know it yet.
plymayer 21st Jul 2015, 9:27 PM edit delete reply

Yep. Now, is good.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 2:59 PM edit delete reply

Haegan2005 21st Jul 2015, 11:27 PM edit delete reply

Someone has to slow the cassians long enough for Acantha to shoot one!
Sheela 22nd Jul 2015, 3:11 AM edit delete reply

Well, he *is* clad all in red.
T1-G3R2501 22nd Jul 2015, 6:34 AM edit delete reply
Now Now Sheela we already determined that the blue armors are the easiest to kill.
Need we revisit the Maxus slaughter house?
Sheela 22nd Jul 2015, 6:39 AM edit delete reply

Maxus is also clad in red.

Well .. when he's is clad in anything. >_<
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 3:00 PM edit delete reply

yep use the chaos :D and most of the Roma Army wears red.
T1-G3R2501 23rd Jul 2015, 6:14 AM edit delete reply
WAIT WAIT!! realization! Isn't NOX going after the princess? Yep the red's dead.... definitely dead
Centcomm 23rd Jul 2015, 7:48 AM edit delete reply

you might change your mind in a bit :D
Sheela 23rd Jul 2015, 8:51 AM edit delete reply

Yeah, we don't know how badass he is.

Alternatively, Acantha simply orders Nox to stop.
That one guy 23rd Jul 2015, 3:31 PM edit delete reply
Acantha cannot order the Cassians at all yet. If Decimus died, she could order Kali who could order the rest, though I'm not sure she could order the rest on her own until she came of age.

We do know that Noctis heard an out in the phrasing of the orders regarding Maxus which she hinted to Malati with Kali's blessing. While I'm not sure what it is yet, the implication is that she heard an out in the orders for herself and Nox as well.

Additionally, we know Miraiko was told by Tokyo Rose when Dolly & Ceci confirmed their presence. It's possible that Miraiko is going to meet with them and be a guide/local intel asset for targeting assistance, and Nox and Noctis might be their first targets and I'd bet on the trio over the duo in that match-up. We also don't know what Rose may have already planned to neutralize the Cassians. She's been in New Rome's systems for a long time, she could easily have something already in place to shut them down, break their inhibitors, alter their inhibitors (allegiance swap from Decimus to Acantha, for example), or otherwise take them out of opposition to her plans.

There are plenty of dangling plot threads that could easily stop Nox and Noctis from doing what Decimus wants them to do. Just a question of what the authors have planned.
Sheela 23rd Jul 2015, 10:48 PM edit delete reply

The cassians are linked to the Livius family, that means Acantha and Decimus.

That also means that Acantha does have some control over them, the only reason they cannot put Acantha on the throne is because the Senate would not let them. Frankly, if the Senate wasn't in the way, the Cassians would gladly put her on the throne. And if Acantha is as smart as I think she is, and I suspect she is, she could simply demand Nox to tell her the specific orders that Decimus gave, and then work around the.

She could also abuse the fact that a bomb just went off, and it's the Cassians duty to protect the Livius family, and the safest place for Acantha right now, is in Aeneas' stronghold.

Heck, for all we know, that alone could mean that the Cassians would be obligated to escort her to the safest place, ie. to Aeneas. Also, such a situation, would definately trump any order that Decimus would have given.

Survival of the bloodline first, and Acantha has a baby factory, so she is *not* expendable!
mjkj 21st Jul 2015, 10:45 PM edit delete reply

*lol* something tells me that also... XD
Draginbeard 21st Jul 2015, 11:15 PM edit delete reply

Vamoos now, while the vamoos...ing is good...or something.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 3:01 PM edit delete reply

pretty much.. :D
StellarJay 22nd Jul 2015, 12:39 AM edit delete reply

And with that, everybody's plans fall apart. I can only see a mass of confusion resulting from this.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 3:01 PM edit delete reply

it could be a good thing :D
Matt Knab 22nd Jul 2015, 2:20 AM edit delete reply

Hey, might as well!
Evervigilant 22nd Jul 2015, 2:44 AM edit delete reply
Ok, with the "whee doo" sound I expected to see the minion bust through the wall wearing that flashing fire hat. lol Sorry just couldn't resist.
Tokyo Rose 22nd Jul 2015, 3:01 AM edit delete reply

The Minion was a slight influence on the sound effect, but I was for some reason also thinking of "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist". (I would've totally gone for the "Kentucky Fried Movie" alert if I thought I could get away with it.)
Sheela 22nd Jul 2015, 3:12 AM edit delete reply

God dammit, now I have to go and watch Kung Fury .. AGAIN !
Thanks a lot, Rose! *shakes angry doggy paw at Rose*

Big Trouble In Little China? *innocent*
That one guy 23rd Jul 2015, 3:33 PM edit delete reply
I think I would've suspected a Kentucky Fried Movie alert to be foreshadowing for Big Jim Slade to bust through a wall and carry Ada off.
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 3:02 PM edit delete reply

runs off to watch despicable Me again .. :D
Haegan2005 22nd Jul 2015, 4:45 PM edit delete reply

T1-G3R2501 23rd Jul 2015, 6:32 AM edit delete reply
It's probably the helmet and the red....
Centcomm 23rd Jul 2015, 8:39 PM edit delete reply

I think red and gold was a bit much .. I was tempted however :D
Melody_Whyte 22nd Jul 2015, 10:11 PM edit delete reply

"Time to go!" "Yup!"

The irony is, THAT EXPLOSION IS BASICALLY A HOMEMADE DOORBELL FOR YOU, LYNN!
Centcomm 22nd Jul 2015, 10:28 PM edit delete reply

It really is :D
Stormwind13 23rd Jul 2015, 4:58 AM edit delete reply

I was thinking more along the lines of the ringing of the Doom Bell, Melody. Signalling the impending change of leadership of Nova Roma!
Marcus Ramesy 23rd Jul 2015, 6:40 AM edit delete reply

we tried to send the girl scouts.. but the wouldn't buy any cookies
Sheela 23rd Jul 2015, 8:54 AM edit delete reply

You should have tried to get The Little Sisters of the Immaculate Chainsaw, I'm sure they'd have enjoyed this.
Marcus Ramesy 23rd Jul 2015, 8:00 PM edit delete reply

they were unavalable at the time.. something about union dues and out of fule for the chainsaws... they wanted extra for fusion chainsaws.
Sheela 23rd Jul 2015, 10:52 PM edit delete reply

Uhh ... but their chainsaws are fueled by the demonic souls that they collect when they cut the demons apart, why would they want fusion material?

Btw, the Little Sisters of the Immaculate Chainsaw, is from Simon R Green's "Something from the Nightside" series of books ... they are worth a read!
Spelledeg 23rd Jul 2015, 7:12 AM edit delete reply

Well I guess if there were any second thoughts about going forward with the plan now it's a bit too late since the doorbell arrived!

Also hoping that Kyle doesn't get his bum too toasted in trespassing around Aeneas' circuits. Man, so much is going on...
Centcomm 23rd Jul 2015, 7:49 AM edit delete reply

Yep - I think Aeneas sets his weapons to extra crispy if he doesn't know you.
Sheela 23rd Jul 2015, 11:08 AM edit delete reply

Aeneas barbeques his own weapons ?

... sneaky.
Centcomm 23rd Jul 2015, 8:38 PM edit delete reply

he makes them in easy bake ovens :D
