Get 'm Dolly!
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:20 AM edit delete reply

damn right! :D
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 11:38 AM edit delete reply

At last !

I'm so excited!
The Old Scribe 3rd Sep 2015, 9:10 PM edit delete reply

I wondered when some clever trooper would bring in the heavy artillery. I'm sure Dolly has combat mods aplenty to deal with situations like this. Kick his Roma ass, Dolly!
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:21 AM edit delete reply

She does have training if not the Mods :D And she is certainlky going to do her best!
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 11:39 AM edit delete reply

Didn't seem like the body had a lot of mods, it is simply meant to be buildt well from the get go, so she wouldn't need mods later on.

It's all about flexibility and speed.
And I suspect she has a lot of both!
Stormwind13 4th Sep 2015, 12:46 PM edit delete reply

We know that Dolly has some speed, Sheela. Took her only 3.2 seconds (from comic of that name, 11 July 2012) to DESTROY Dari. Who was a trained mercenary (albeit scum). Dari didn't even get a chance to react, she just got beaten.

I would normally have said beaten senseless, but Dari was ALREADY pretty senseless... or she would have known better than to tangle with Dolly. Especially after having taken Dolly's 'child'. That was BEYOND stupid.
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 7:26 PM edit delete reply

I feel fairly confident that Dolly held back while kicking Dari's ass.

She would have blown her bounty hunter cover otherwise.
Stormwind13 4th Sep 2015, 8:12 PM edit delete reply

I think you are right, though possibly for a different reason.

As I remember Dolly was still coming to grips with her new body. She didn't seem to know all it could do. Dolly HAD her training though and it allowed her to more than kick Dari's butt.
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 8:50 PM edit delete reply

She also have several red flags pop up, if she exceeds a normal woman strength level or speed.

At least, that's what Calliope said.
Dragonrider 3rd Sep 2015, 9:10 PM edit delete reply

YAY, for the first time in over two weeks I can see the pictures and read the text. Due to windows 10 I lost my Komputer for a while total meltdown been using a smartphone.
Looks like "Mommy" is about to get her hands bloody, too bad she doesn't have a built in Light Saber like Ceci.
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:22 AM edit delete reply

Whoooo!!! glad to hear it! yeah no light saber. but she might have some other toys :D
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 11:40 AM edit delete reply

Welcome back to the civilized world, Dragonrider. :)
Mark_L_A 3rd Sep 2015, 9:14 PM edit delete reply

Oh SNAP! Dolly is about to get medieval on someone.

So medieval it shocks even CeCi's watchdog.
Just_IDD 3rd Sep 2015, 11:19 PM edit delete reply
I have a shirt from some small security company that came up with a great slogan. I have no idea how good they are in general. Anyway the word "castle" in ther name. They want to get medieval on your assets.

Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:23 AM edit delete reply

Oh yes !
Sheela 5th Sep 2015, 10:22 AM edit delete reply

Having a Mama Bear on the warpath, should be .. enlightening, for the guards of Roma.

Alas, poor combat drone, we hardly knew ya.
Probably better that way.
Draginbeard 3rd Sep 2015, 10:50 PM edit delete reply

Bring on the fisticuffs!

I know Dolly is tough, but is she Rhonda Rousy tough?!!
(I bet she is!)
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:23 AM edit delete reply

Yep .. she really is. :D
plymayer 3rd Sep 2015, 10:56 PM edit delete reply

Perhaps his highness is close bye.
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:24 AM edit delete reply

nope .. not yet. Dolly would have some wonderfully choice words for him. although she might just let him talk to her fists.
Sheela 5th Sep 2015, 10:24 AM edit delete reply

Considering the fact that the Prince would not be conductive to getting Lynn to safety any quicker, Dolly has no interest in wasting time on the Prince, so she would simply ignore him.

Which would infuriate him to no end! :D
anonymous coward 3rd Sep 2015, 11:13 PM edit delete reply
Stupid question, does Dolly have any exes, possibly ones that may have abused mood- or mind-altering phenomena? The utterly inane death threat makes me wonder if Dolly has an actual high-ex, and how theoretically-edible they may be.
Eldoran 4th Sep 2015, 6:40 AM edit delete reply
It doesn't seem strange to me. I think panel 3 refers to
And panel 2 is simply the annoyance of a new roman citizen with the useless AI routines of the outdated drones, eg. that it pauses to talk before shooting against an extremely aggressive opponent which would not be deterred by that. Possibly even after seeing/hearing another one gunned down moments earlier.
Eldoran 4th Sep 2015, 6:47 AM edit delete reply
Actually the only strange thing would be that the combat droid has no brackets in the speech bubbles - eg. it is using the same language spoken in new Troy.
Mark_L_A 4th Sep 2015, 7:51 AM edit delete reply

It might have already spoken it's announcement in Lamod, and has now switched to Stanglish to be sure his instructions are understood by anyone.
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:25 AM edit delete reply

The languages .. are actually called " Standard " And " Roma " The old terms were products of me being cute and may be revised in the reboots ..

The Drone is speaking in Standard sense most people understand it.
anonymous coward 4th Sep 2015, 12:06 PM edit delete reply
I guess my joke really sucked if I'm getting a link to wikipedia because people think I misunderstood what "high-ex" means in the comic. :(
Mark_L_A 4th Sep 2015, 6:46 PM edit delete reply

I figured that, but it was Laaaaaaaammmmmeeeeeee (say it like a sheep or goat)so I ignored it :)
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 7:30 PM edit delete reply

And here I was thinking you were talking about an ex-boyfriend.

... which would be an interesting thing to bring to Roma, during an undercover mission.
anonymous coward 4th Sep 2015, 8:02 PM edit delete reply
Well, at least the doggie gets it, just nobody thought it was funny.
But I must go forth and have a training montage, because I am too soundly defeated as a joker to even respond with the obligatory, "That's what she said," response here.
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 8:52 PM edit delete reply

Ahah, but .. that's what the doggy said. :)
mjkj 4th Sep 2015, 12:14 AM edit delete reply

Wow, now let us see how well she is integrated...

@alt text: yeah, indeed.

Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:26 AM edit delete reply

Dolly is totally integrated into her body .. unlike what Teedee was.
Mark_L_A 4th Sep 2015, 6:48 PM edit delete reply

I think Dolly's is so fully integrated because of her own drive and determination to rescue Lynn and NOT fail in her sworn duty.

Plus her own Love for Lynn and Callie.

Just for that she would do anything it takes for them, her "Family"
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 7:33 PM edit delete reply

We know that she has integrated .. what we don't know, is the full capabilities of her body.

However - We *do* know that the body was custom buildt by Calliope, for Dolly. And as long as Calliope can remember, Dolly has been a Guardian.

I would be quite surprised, if the new body hasn't been buildt for guardian duties - And that most definately includes combat.
I do suspect, that Dolly is a pretty dangerous hybrid human/android analog, with quite a bit of power behind it.
Not as hardcore as CeCi, sure, but definitly tough enough to beat up some jumped up guards.
velvetsanity 4th Sep 2015, 12:31 AM edit delete reply

And thus, the true badassery (on this end of the free-for-all, anyway) begins :D
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:26 AM edit delete reply

yes it does!
Sheela 5th Sep 2015, 10:25 AM edit delete reply

Meanwhile, on the other end, TeeDee is getting into her groove, and thus. both ends of the Roma military is getting their arses kicked .. thoroughtly!
ProfEtheric 4th Sep 2015, 1:01 AM edit delete reply

Go Dolly Go! Yeah!
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:27 AM edit delete reply

Rah rah rah! :D
HiFranc 4th Sep 2015, 2:28 AM edit delete reply

Am I right in thinking that the Bluebs have realised that Max's assassination has gone south and are trying to find him?
Centcomm 4th Sep 2015, 11:27 AM edit delete reply

Mayyybe but not on this floor :D
HiFranc 4th Sep 2015, 2:47 PM edit delete reply

Sorry, I should have made myself clear, I was responding to the first panel.
Tokyo Rose 4th Sep 2015, 4:09 PM edit delete reply

Remember, the guards were off chasing wild geese thanks to Kyle's interference, and the Prince has capitalized on that to keep them out of the way. His personal guards are down there to lend credence to the idea that there really is some kind of danger or threat to track down. Now that an ACTUAL threat exists in the form of the invasion into the palace, the displaced guards are now trying to get to locations where they can join in the defensive efforts. Problem is, that means they have to run TOWARDS Dolly... and they keep on shooting at her, how dumb. ;D
Stormwind13 4th Sep 2015, 1:00 PM edit delete reply

I'm thinking most of the Blueboys (and almost all of Maxus' people) have NO idea that an attempt was even being made. I mean, I know those two that the girls ran into did; however, assassinating your General is probably not something that you want everyone to know, especially beforehand.

Might cause people to revolt, try to overthrow the evil oppressors of the people... Oh nevermind, that IS what is going on... Though we know it wasn't triggered by that order.
HiFranc 4th Sep 2015, 2:57 PM edit delete reply

Don't forget what we know about the guys in blue (see Out of control...). For the bluebs, telling them his plans for Max would be a way of appealing to them and making them feel special for being in the know. Whilst Decimus is crazy, and can make extremely bad decisions, he isn't a complete idiot. He probably understands the bluebs better than he understands most people.

{edit} I think those guys who taunted Acantha's gang should consider them lucky that they were killed. I suspect that if the prince found out that they had blabbed the plan, and any one of the people concerned had lived, he would have used them as examples of that happens to those who can't keep secrets.
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 7:37 PM edit delete reply

To be fair, the network hub that Dr Silver took over, would probably have told all higher ranking people about the attack on the gate, before they got taken out.

Anyone with even a bit of rank, would have been recalled from the palace, to the gate ... and then, suddenly radio silence .. well, apart from Nyan-cat.

I don't know if it's just my display, but all your strips seem really dark to me. In the voting incentive, Dolly's armor is almost entirely a black blob...
Dragonrider 4th Sep 2015, 9:08 AM edit delete reply

Your display, had to same problem while I was using my smartphone.
Stormwind13 4th Sep 2015, 1:22 PM edit delete reply

I would suspect your display Cperka. Or you are in a light poisoned environment that messes with seeing it clearly (the office is bad about that with all the florescents)
Mark_L_A 4th Sep 2015, 6:50 PM edit delete reply

Mine were looking dark the other day. Someone (My daughter) had changed my monitor settings for a game she was playing on my computer. I just reset my monitor to it's defaults and it's back to normal now for me.
chk 4th Sep 2015, 12:15 PM edit delete reply

Tear them a new one Dolly.
Stormwind13 4th Sep 2015, 12:54 PM edit delete reply

I'm hoping she SURVIVES the fight, chk. I mean, she just took an explosive round. Her shield is down for over a minute and a half.

Am I the only one worried that Dolly could DIE here? If that Blueboy has another Hi-Ex round Dolly could be seriously injured if not KILLED. She is tougher than a 'normal' human being, but not THAT much tougher I think.
Mark_L_A 4th Sep 2015, 1:43 PM edit delete reply

Dolly Die? No, get injured possibly seriously? Yes. Will she let it stop her? No.
chk 4th Sep 2015, 4:34 PM edit delete reply

Damn, Stormwind. I never even considered that possibility. I've just blithely assumed that some characters will continue ad infinitum. Knowing CentCom and Tokyo Rose, that may not be a fair assumption.
chk 4th Sep 2015, 4:38 PM edit delete reply

She is seriously Badass though.
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 7:39 PM edit delete reply

Dolly is wearing plot armor though.

That's the best kind of armor you can get!

It'd be hilarious if, when they stumble on Democlus, they interrupt his delaying Nox and save his ass only to have him say "I'm sorry, but your princess is in another castle."
Mark_L_A 4th Sep 2015, 6:52 PM edit delete reply

DANGIT!! I was taking a DRINK!! Where is the windex and paper towels.

ETA: Lemonade in your nasal passages STING!!!!
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 7:41 PM edit delete reply

Aw, I've been wanting to use that joke for a while, here in the Datachasers comment section ... but I couldn't find a good situation for it.

And now it's all taken! *pout*

I'm sorry, but your cue is in another webcomic's comments section.
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 8:54 PM edit delete reply

I know, I buried it in the backyard. :)
Haegan2005 4th Sep 2015, 11:56 PM edit delete reply

That was a good joke!
Eldoran 5th Sep 2015, 10:06 AM edit delete reply
Well right now it isn't even clear whether Democlus would not attack them first or Dolly/Ceci would as he is wearing a guard armor
DLKmusic 4th Sep 2015, 5:48 PM edit delete reply

Time to learn a lesson about human anatomy, Dolly... when you hit someone, your hand will feel the pain, hit them hard enough and it will feel it for days.

Ah, but what's a broken knuckle or two between friends...

Great job as always, Girls!
Sheela 4th Sep 2015, 7:42 PM edit delete reply

At least her bones are stronger than human bones.
It'll take a fair bit to break her knuckles. :)
kitty 4th Sep 2015, 6:14 PM edit delete reply
Get 'em, Dolly! "Give ye such a guid kickin'!" :)
Haegan2005 4th Sep 2015, 11:57 PM edit delete reply

Go Dolly Go! Rah Rah Rah!

Keep voting guys, back up to 14!
Sheela 5th Sep 2015, 10:28 AM edit delete reply

Still consistently under Rank 20.
It would be nice to get lower, but one step at a time, and then all of a sudden .. dubstep!
CptKerion 5th Sep 2015, 8:47 PM edit delete reply
