Yeah something is up, Mark. And I am guessing it is something visual. Dolly's eyes turned then Dolly broke off. So either CeCi is damaged or has collected a bunch of weapons, I'm thinking. CeCi may be remembering the talk Dolly gave her about Mission Loot back in Joleet.
I have a hard time seeing an appearance by either Nox or Maxus as not causing some noise effect or speech bubble or Dolly not immediately springing into action upon seeing it.
Not sure what caused the reaction, but I don't think it's anything perceived as hostile or a threat (and Maxus would likely be considered likely either a hostile or a dangerous unknown by Dolly & Ceci with the information they have at the moment).
She is totally not standing over there chewing on a dude's severed arm or juggling eyeballs or scooping brains out of a shattered skull and mooshing them around like Play-Doh.
"Sorry Mommy! I'm not sure why, but Big Sis gave me an irresistible urge to write 'I've got your biological superiority RIGHT HERE!' on the walls with freshly harvested New Roman testicles. Something about living vicariously. We should talk to her about it when we get back. [whispers]I think she needs a release valve for some of those centuries of stress."
#1. VOTE dropped to 17
#2. The terms "I sure am, Mommy" and "These are all dead", used in the same cheerful comment in some polite circles might be considered a bit off putting.
#3. Dolly is showing a bit of "Gallows" humor with her statement about slippery floors.
#4. I told you Dolly was gonna get her hands bloody.
With CentComm's level of concern for Dolly's prototype body (and the emotional impact Dolly's loss would be on Calliope), it wouldn't be surprising for more plans than anyone knows about to be on the table. Deep Blue knew what was going on, and as TR has managed some limited communication with Aeneas, it's possible CentComm or Deep Blue have as well. So CentComm may have alerted other AIS as well. Who knows what might be arranged with Luna, as well.
Also, with her level of snooping Rose probably knows enough to want to keep Dolly safe for scientific reasons too, and she's had plenty of time to get New Rome softened up.
Dolly not being safe would be quite the freak accident that would likely throw a massive wrench in a whole lot of plans. More so than Lynn or Acantha, for that matter.
better then watching a little tail on the other side of my coffee table and wondering if my new pair of slippers are going to disappear like the other four! (glare)

It is adorable. And I never get tired of it. :)
Anyway, this term of endearment seems rather fitting considering that Ceci is only a few days old. And Dolly is a much older nannybot in a Momma Bear mode to rescue Lynn. Though, I do wonder if Ceci continues to do this to tease Dolly (among other reasons).
The fleshy bits of her hands may be in a bit of disrepair due to plasma caster and (I'm guessing souped up) taser blade.
There was also mention that loading additional protocols for a Black Angel damages the synth brain (which is one of the ethical reasons they aren't supposed to be self-aware). Ceci could be having some cognitive issues as well, and if she does, remember that Marcus has already asked Dr. Silver to keep an eye on her to attempt to keep her from running amok. So she might also be remotely disabled in some way.
Is there a BIG pause between panel 1 and 4?
That seem to span at most 30 seconds, but it has to be far longer (how else would the 100 seconds shield restore cycle complete)???
Then again, if Ceci was on rampage for so long, Ceci could have massacred several dozen of enemies.
There's enough of a pause for Dolly to manually switch the shield to "fast charge" mode (normally not recommended by manufacturer as it may impact the lifetime operation of the device*), as well as eject the power cell from her gun and reload it.

Androids can think and act faster than unaugmented humans (like you or I). And, at the moment, she's not engaged in combat. So she may have the equivalent of some spare CPU cycles to briefly think about something else while still staying focused.
Anyway, she just realized she hasn't engaged in combat like this since Fallon died. That realization, in turn, triggered a realization that Calliope hasn't been herself since Fallon died and so she vowed to change that when she got back. She did a simple "note to self" moment, is all.
This train of thought seems realistic to me and, actually, makes her seem more human.
Or, to paraphrase another comic I read, "That's odd, his head is way over here and his body is over there. It's almost like they were kicking it around on the floor!"
*runs off*
Q: Does the Pink Hippo of Happiness belong to the same Distraction Union as the Demonic Duck?
Alternatively, she has found Nox.
Or Watchdoggy has disabled her.

Totally.

But Dolly doesn't know this.

*is worried*
What is wrong with her? why did she suddenly stop talking? why and where did she (assumedly) vanish?

.. she might bite, if you try to go in there.
Ouch.
I think out of the five, Dolly took out two, and CeCi took three. I'm counting the drones as part of the group.
Please be covered in blood.... Please be covered in blood.... Bad ass moment please!

now somethings happened to my Ceci *activares bezerker rage mode*
As for the rage... ::Points toward CentComm:: Get her, she is to blame for ALL problems CeCi has.
