Nope She didnt fire anything at all. Nox has no ranged weapons at all. actually her fighting style is more closely related to Arnis although there is some other stuff mixed in.
I get the reference to Sinanju itself, just not where you are tying it in on this page. I've got the first 90 or so books of the series before the series went "bleh". Started reading them back in the 80's
This is the internet, filled with many, many bored and/or perverted people. Referencing butts is usually a mistake unless you want to inspire butt-topical conversation.
>>>LOVE<<< The Smile poster. Democlus owes her for killing the Smurf wannabe's? I have to coin a term for Nox here, Ultra Supermax Sociopath. It does seem Nox may be due for a surprise tap on the shoulder next page, she didn't notice the second arrow on her way in. Oh Well breaks of the game.
Actually all the barrels have gone boom by now. and yes Nox is very broken. Im glad you like the smile sign :D as for a tap on the shoulder, hehehe I think you will like what happens.
OH GOODIE Nox will have an attack of "Universal Peace, Love, Goodwill and Friendship" for all humans everywhere. She will run up to Douchie and proceed to "Love him to death."
I, too, enjoy the poster but it seems a bit off... like it belongs in Paranoia more than in Nova Roma where it should be written in Lamod if it even exists at all.
One order of flash fried Blueshell on the half shell to go, please. My, my, Noxie's an agile little thing isn't she? That Bo staff of hers is an interesting weapon. Blades on one end, shock stick on the other. Is Demo firing at her or at more barrels?
You know, if the revolt that's sweeping into the palace here had a good PR division they could probably get some pretty good use out of the footage from Democlus' stand. Is the sign accurate, do the cameras still work, did they catch it all, did they get a good angle on the humiliating end of a squad of Decimus' thugs?
No cohorts or allies for Nox, then, only deferred targets.
Nox: ...Then, with the objective complete, the squad commander became insubordinate and had to be terminated. His squad then moved to act in retaliation, and I killed them in self defence. There were three civilian witnesses, who I disposed of as a precaution and in order to prevent reports from leaking out and concomitant damage to morale and order. Kali: There will be no more purges or examinations of our public surveillance teams by you. This is a direct order. And perhaps I should start accompanying you on missions again... I never seem to encounter these acts of insubordination that you seem to be beset by, in spite of our equally fearsome reputations...
Nox: ...! By your command.
Kali: Now, there have been reports of a possible plot at the Arena tonight. You will be part of a visible presence-
Malati: And if might volunteer to, ah, partner or assist Nox on this... it's kind of my home-from-home, and I know how stuff works there, so I think I oughtta be there to stop any of those dangerous gladiators from getting all up and insubordinate with anyone... right?
Kali: That seems... sensible. Very well.
Nox: ...~#!!
Malati: (to herself) Don't worry, big boys, your best friend Malati's gonna keep you safe from nasty old Nox. :-3
Sadly, Sheela, I think that there may be a total of 2 people who are not cassians that will mourn the passing of Malati... Max and Irene. Everyone else was terrified of her, even the ones she liked.
Nox, (Who I keep confusing with Noctis) Really makes me wonder if there is some sort of evalulation/performance program for Cassians. Having her around seems to imply a lot of employee replacement costs.
Hmm ... I think someone else also has eyes in the room. And there is an interesting visual clue in the last frame. But if dem wins on his iwn that would be superheroic andbtotally awesome. Just dont let himdie. Too much shipping invested.
@Hiroprotagonist I think you are seeing Demo's shadow since part is attached to something that should not have a shadow, and both terminate where that last shot impacts. I would expect that the beam would cause shadows not leave one.
At this point Democulus has already won ... or else he's lost. Against an opponent with such superior speed/strength/armor/etc. his only chance would be superior logistics/tactics. Since he's not going to be able to outlast her, I am hoping he is silently counting down in his head about the grenade between his feet whose pin he already pulled _before_ opening fire on the barrels. Just before it goes off he runs/leaps away, hoping this takes Nox just enough by surprise that she gets her own faceful of BOOM before she can react. Otherwise, his "testing himself against a Cassian" looks like an embarrassing flop.
Of course, he has already reconciled himself to the 'rearguard sacrifice' role, and on that count he has already achieved a significant success.
However, the best rescue would be, since Cassian communications are intact and Noctis has received carte blanche, for Noctis to recall Nox from her errand citing the higher priority of her plan, which has been approved by the Prince.
"I need you to inventory all the dry goods in all the kitchens in the Imperial Palace. Be thorough and don't kill anyone unless necessary. The authority for this comes directly from the Prince. Thank you."
Theoretically Nox is the Cassian you _least_ want going up against a Cyberpath. Remember Noctis is using a sniper because you don't want the Cyberpath getting close and suborning your Cassians. If Nox doesn't take them out before they know they are there, suddenly she's working for the enemy -- which may be all kinds of poetic justice, but isn't really in the interests of New Sparta.
Money is on Dolly for that. Nox hates humans, and right now Dolly is registering as human. Nox going down permanently to a "meatsack" with a questionable relationship with a comfort gynoid from hell just screams karmic justice.
I hope Demo does well. Max picked him for a reason, perhaps he's good enough to take down a Cassian. I suspect we'll see soon.
Warning to all Patreons, Patreon reported a hack so you should log in and change your password there.
Details I saw (haven't looked fully yet) stated registered names, e-mail addresses, physical addresses, and salted password hashes were stolen for normal users. Creators could've had their encrypted social security numbers and tax ID info stolen too (so maybe ok, just depends on how/where they stored the key and if it was generated well).
Salted password hashes shouldn't be that dangerous, but still a good idea to change the password. Especially if you are a person who shares passwords between websites (then changing for all using it would be good, ideally to different ones, software like Password Safe or KeePass can help with that).
Actually they corrected that. So yeah the data they stole was encrypted and useless. also Patreon does not actually store any CC info so thats safe too :D
they released several emails about it.,
So I'm really hoping that the cavalry arrives in time. Ceci and Dolly may not make it, I'd like for it to be Max, but I don't think he'd have made it here yet either... aaannnyone else... Miraiko was her name, yes?
Her, I'm putting my money on her.
Oooooor Aeneas may do something fun. Who knows.
Also, got a question here for my future in my hobby of figuring out how to counter things. What effect would, say, a blast of flaming magnesium pellets and white phosphorous do to Nox?
Ceci said there was only one group of hostiles between them and Lynn, and she said it was blue guys and an android noted to "hate humans more than murder-turds hate everything" which sounds like Nox (reference comics are Comic 1296 - Pithed Off, Comic 1297 - Not Harmless, & Comic 1298 - Priorities for those bits of info). I think Dolly and Ceci are likely bets for people to catch up. Possibly seeing Decimus fighting Nox will keep them from killing him as a hostile.
Miraiko left that area an hour ago to wreak her own havok. My suspicion is Miraiko's leavings are the other hunter Nox noticed and told Noctis about. Her statements to Julia and Kyle both suggest that she's going to make sure Decimus' time on this side of the sod is limited. She's more likely to meet Maxus, in my opinion, which means one of them can distract Kali.
Well, the gun shot.
She is missed.
This should be good.
ETA: did her staff just fire something at Democlus in that last panel?
Brilliant! :D
I've read much in the past on Sinanju, but I don't get where your reference is coming from in this page.

:D
Photo of said pained Tookis?
:p
It would be able to contain quite a lot of pain.
Bonus points for not being your own Tookis too! :D
Maybe a bit silly as well. :D
:D
Also " Stanglish " is being ret-conned into " Standard "
That would be a game to remember!
Plan, Part 2 - Not so much.
There's a silver lining in everything.
Still think the ka-Boom should have been way bigger given the confined space and that there were four more barrels INSIDE the room with Dem.
Wow, Nox is fast...
...I just hope Demo can match her speed...
Her specialty is High speed one on one combat. Although her skill also extends to group combat..
Why she will charge in solo to a group of armed men is unknown and considered suicidal to even other Cassians.
So many targets, so little time. :)

I wonder if they will mourn her though ?
Violently. In the streets. Against Decimus' troops ! Long live Queen Acantha!
Nox, (Who I keep confusing with Noctis) Really makes me wonder if there is some sort of evalulation/performance program for Cassians. Having her around seems to imply a lot of employee replacement costs.
And she made for some interesting stories, and as such, she was a very successful character. :)
We do miss her.

Although, I'm hoping that that particular scenario will play out before she finishes fighting Democlus.
"Look, mommy! Flash-fried Cassian coming right up! Might be a little charred, though!"
I hope Demo does well. Max picked him for a reason, perhaps he's good enough to take down a Cassian. I suspect we'll see soon.
Holding my breath for the resolution of Dem's fate...
