Uh, Dolly? Remember what they said about the android pot and the cyborg kettle?
Next up: What final objective is cooking now that Ceci is where she is. I seriously doubt it is "Make sure all puppies within 200 KM are happy and loved" (Sorry Sheela).
There is a real world example, Lukkai. Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. That is beyond belief, but they did it back in 1950 on a dare by the host of Truth or Consequences radio show. :-D
Kyle you're dead meat. First Lynn's killing you. Then Dolly's going to make you wish you were really dead for making Lynn cry. Then Ceci might do the job correctly.
Actually I doubt our Asian Puppeteer would allow her minion to be used and abused that way. Kyle belongs to her Body, Blood and Soul. I doubt she has plans to ever turn loose of him until death do them part.
I doubt TR would allow even death to claim him. She's already augmented him to take 3 shredder rounds. I wonder what other augmentations or mods she's added.
Well, until Kyle is done, sure. Afterwards she'd probably line them up and charge tickets for a chance at killing Kyle--before reviving him for the next customer.

This occurred right as CeCi was scanning this agent who is trying to repair Aeneas. That implies that either Kyle or the repair of Aeneas is her primary objective. It's almost impossible that Kyle is her objective since Cent-Comm had no way of knowing he would be there. (Or did she...?) So, for good or ill, it seems almost certain that it has to do with Aeneas.
True that Cent would not know that Kyle would be there. But that being the case this could be something conflicting though knowing the writers. We may be looking at CeCi going full Black Angel and her objective is to cut down Aeneas along with any witnesses.
All this doom and gloom regarding an agent of the same Evil Overlord who didn't shoot the wasteland mechanic. She probably knows better than to kill the lover of one of the two people who can reprogram her. Dicey move, that, even with potential witness containment. Unnecessary, as well. If she wants to stop him, she can just smash the chair.
Cent shouldn't have known Rose was sending in an agent, so there shouldn't be specific orders to kill such a person; CeCi is either operating under a complex set of instructions that include such contingencies, or was under orders to mess with Aeneas. Both would suggest repair orders, given that Aeneas was, in part, a Cent creation, and that he hasn't done anything to reclassify himself as a threat. Also, I'm wondering if we're about to see the use of another manufacturer's backdoor. It would be rather convenient for Cent to have Rome's own A.I.S. take out Decimus, if it can be arranged for him to stop the countermeasures from hitting Troy. Plausible deniability and no exposure of her own assets, and someone who made a play against her city is gone. Aeneas is a lot of firepower not to appropriate if you've got an axe to grind.
Her primary objective was to get into that very room they are in now (see a few pages back). And since she made it, it is time to load the next directives...
It's possible Dragonrider, but since Cent-Comm thought that Aeneas was entirely non-functional, it is also possible that Ceci might try to supplant him with another copy of Cent-Comm.
I still think that Ceci was hacked by TR during construction, one reason she sparked and also why watchdog is so uncooperative. She has been TR's "sleeper" back-up all along.
My problem with that being that the back-up activated too soon then. There was no real reason for the sleeper program to go live at the point it did, if it was TR's. Seeing as her plans with Kyle actually did go along just fine at the time.
I don't know about CeCi as Rose agent. Her original mission was to keep her away from Rome on guard-Dolly duty, which she did. Rose going to expend the trouble to compromise a Black Angel...why that one? Her itinerary isn't quite right, predicting her modification of it requires knowing Dolly, and if the change gets Dolly killed then Cent's going to take it personally. Why not just make her own?
But I'll pile on to the conspiracy theory: what if Rose arranged for Cent to spark?
Good post, Visvires! I'm not sure that I buy Rose's interference with CeCi, but I think your scenario is probably the more likely of the two, IF that is indeed the case.
While I don't think CeCi is a "spy" for Tokyo Rose, pér se, I could easily imagine Rose hacking a doll, and give it a goofy sub-seed, so that when Centcomm activates it, it doesn't behave like she would expect it to.
Her current operational status is a jury-rigged re-balancing after fatal objective conflict threw a core-dump crash. She's been pretty obviously dancing a charlie foxtrot all along I'd say, but I was more thinking about the tune of these secret objectives.
I wonder if Ceci is going to scan him to verify his identity, whether she will detect the damage to his chest and whether she would reveal said informaiton.
So is Rose trying to take over, Cent trying to take over? both, neither? Is there a war of the AIs abrewing?
Or are they both perfectly moral and honestly motivated only to help their poor injured friend? Have AIs gained human ambitions? If so the world will be ended for sure.
In an earlier strip, Rose referred to Aeneas as "My Friend". I don't think Rose is trying to take over, but I do believe that she thinks that a major city-state like Roma without an AI watchdog to keep human ambition in check is not a good thing, and needs to be rectified.
The Dynamic Duo have been playing Cent-Comm's motivations far closer to the chest though. It could be in sync with Rose's ambitions for meddling, or it could be that Cent is trying to take over the AI. It is also possible that Cent is trying to ensure that the Nova Roma war-machine is permanently crippled. Destroying Aeneas would accomplish that.
Unfortunately, we don't know, and that's why it's so much fun.
(P.S. Cent, it couldn't possibly be that you hate Kyle because he's putting a crimp in your plans by fixing Aeneas, would it?)
Actually I'm not sure if destroying Aeneas would be a good way to cripple Nova Roma's war machinery. It certainly would not be the best way. That actually being a full repair.
I think you are right, Lukkai; however, I don't know if CentComm sees it that way. She has already done things in ways I didn't anticipate.
Still her choice of a Black Angel as her agent doesn't fill me with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I fear some level of programmed paranoia is leading things down a DARK path. Guess we will find out soon, if Terri can stay out of Doctors' Offices or Hospitals!
Centcom had no intention of hurting Aeneas, but did believe Aeneas had been fully neutralized. Ceci is a free range version of Centcom, meaning she carries within her all the core "or seed" elements of a city sized AIS. Her objective was to find the remaining central processing hub of Aeneas. Would it be a stretch of the imagination if Centcom's plan was for Ceci to down load a new AIS operating system into what remained of Aeneas so it could restore itself?

Again, sorry Sheela...
And no neutering !
Let's keep it safe out there. ^_^
eta: the alt text is hilarious.
"OH, SORRY. DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS YOURS."
Death leaves.
"Nothin ominous here. Move along."
Then she'll be ready for the world!
Also, I think we might be underestimating Lynn's intelligence, she *is* the daughter of a prodigy.

Well, surprise...
*lol* @alt text...
PS: I wonder what CeCi's final objective is - and if it will interfere with Rose's...
That would be a bad thing
But I'll pile on to the conspiracy theory: what if Rose arranged for Cent to spark?
Why ? For the lulz, ofcourse. :)
Well, at least Ceci would feel fine if it was.
Be afraid, be very VERY afraid, bwhuahahahahahah!
what's really sad though is I actually like this better than the original
I remember being directed to it once by the "Sandra and Woo" webcomic.
Good times. :)
AHH I'm so psyched to see what happens next!

CeCi the housewife ! :D
