So far so good. Dental work went off without a Hitch Had my followup today ( Thursday actually ) And it is all healing nicely.

He are playing it close to the Chest on comments because of spoilers. As we are approaching the endgame of the first arc of the comic.

Although as fates have it The day or two after I* got back from Surgery I wound up catching the flu or something from Roommates.

Also for those of you who are helping I have two more payments of 645.00 to pay off the Surgeon. So any help would be deeply appreciated!

Thank you - every single one of you~!

Now this is a revelation. Rose has deep allies it seems.
Dragonrider 21st Jan 2016, 9:07 PM edit delete reply

I do note that TR is staying in the background as "The Specialist'. Might this be so their is no chance of a slip and Ceci recognizing her? One does have to wonder if Dolly might have something extra that was snuck in to her creation by TR when she helped Calliope make the upgrade.
@Haegan2005 This is one of Rose's equivalents to CentComs angels.
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 2:21 AM edit delete reply

Actually Rose had her own Variants of the Black Angels they are mentioned in one of the short Segments done way back.

You can also find Info on the bit on the blog I think somewhere - but im not sure where at this moment
Tokyo Rose 22nd Jan 2016, 4:55 AM edit delete reply

Shinedo's equivalent of Cent's Black Angels are called Shikome. Kagami the Mirror is emphatically not one of them. :D
Dragonrider 22nd Jan 2016, 6:34 AM edit delete reply

I did not specify a Black Angel. Cent also has White Angels for programming and other duties.
Stormwind13 22nd Jan 2016, 10:28 AM edit delete reply

I think Kagami is (part of) the AI for Japan. More closely related to CentComm (the character) or Deep Blue than an angel, Dragonrider.
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 11:06 AM edit delete reply

Correct Storm Kagami is a AIS
Sheela 22nd Jan 2016, 6:16 PM edit delete reply

She's one of the Three Treasures of Shinedo, right ?
jamie59 21st Jan 2016, 9:19 PM edit delete reply

Quick give the girl some alcohol she's too boring like this.
T1-G3R2501 22nd Jan 2016, 11:56 AM edit delete reply
Captain! The Alcohol rations are dangerously low! It cannot take another pull! *Hides shot glasses*
Stormwind13 22nd Jan 2016, 8:10 PM edit delete reply

jamie, if you TRY to give her alcohol, Rose will hunt you down and hurt you. After the LAST time, she isn't going to be very nice to anyone that does that to her girls. :-D
xpacetrue 21st Jan 2016, 9:22 PM edit delete reply

Didn't Rose help design/create the Three Treasures of Shinedo? I seem to recall something in the comic to suggest this. But I wouldn't know where to begin to find said page(s) or comments. Whatever the case, it's obvious that Tokyo Rose has close ties with Shinedo and the Three Treasures.
Graham 21st Jan 2016, 9:42 PM edit delete reply
The prequel comic about the Hybrid suggested that TR predates the Three Treasures. Maybe she helped shape their personalities.
sigpig 22nd Jan 2016, 11:12 AM edit delete reply

Don't forget that TR was a MAJOR PLAYER during Galina's adventures with the Epiphytes...
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 2:20 AM edit delete reply

Yes TR did help design the Three Treasures. :D
Sheela 22nd Jan 2016, 6:17 PM edit delete reply

Don't tell anybody, but ... I think they are her split personalities !
Visvires 23rd Jan 2016, 11:35 AM edit delete reply
Impossible. No portion of TR's mind is that devoid of profanity. ;)
xpacetrue 21st Jan 2016, 9:32 PM edit delete reply

@ Cent

Kagami looks very stunning and other-wordly. I especially like the colorful cyberspace or digital world background. Nice page, all around!
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 2:32 AM edit delete reply

Thank you very much I did some other variations before sticking to the fractal background
ProfEtheric 21st Jan 2016, 9:59 PM edit delete reply

Oh... VERY NICE! I love Kagami's look!
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 2:19 AM edit delete reply

Her look actually was designed by Rose - I just gave it a few nudges here and there.

really glad you like her :D
Tokyo Rose 22nd Jan 2016, 4:56 AM edit delete reply

I had very specific visions for the Treasures; Cent's done a fantastic job with Kagami. :)
DLKmusic 21st Jan 2016, 10:06 PM edit delete reply

WOW!!!! LOOK AT KAGAMI!!!! I'm in love all over again!!!!

So, now the people standing in the "I DON'T hate Kyle" line consists of Myself, Dolly, and Kagami (Miriako is here too, but she's busy at the moment). I would give the rest of you a raspberry, but I'm enjoying the company here too much!

P.S. If you want to join us in the "I don't hate Kyle" line, Sheela, I heard a rumor that Kagami might have a tuna roll she might be willing to share!
xpacetrue 22nd Jan 2016, 1:55 AM edit delete reply

Kagami is quite beautiful, isn't she?

Well, I've never hated on Kyle. Actually, I seem to recall speaking up on his behalf at least once or twice.
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 2:19 AM edit delete reply

I have 2 of the three done at this point. So just need to do one more - I can say that you will see all three before this is over :D
Sheela 22nd Jan 2016, 6:19 PM edit delete reply

*looks innocent*

... I'm not trying to electrocute Kyle ..
Nooooo siirreee - Not at all .. Nope!
Stormwind13 22nd Jan 2016, 7:53 PM edit delete reply

Agreed, DLK. That is 'inhumanly' beautiful. I love how pretty Kagami is.

And no I've never joined the Kyle hater club either. I don't have anything against him, but not a whole lot for him either. I mean, he was pretty bone-headed to go after Lynn himself. And even MORE so to then try to drop kick Rose's plans. :-p
Mark_L_A 22nd Jan 2016, 12:09 AM edit delete reply

In LS TR called the 3 Treasures her "Girls" and implied she helped to design/build/program them. Ooops just noticed I put this in the wrong place it should be under Xpacetrue's post.
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 12:30 PM edit delete reply

That's correct!
mjkj 22nd Jan 2016, 12:47 AM edit delete reply

So, Shinedo seems to ring a bell...

...and Aeneas seems to be more damaged than I thought.

*lol* @alt text...

PS: I wonder what CeCi will do next...

TheSkulker 22nd Jan 2016, 1:15 AM edit delete reply
I found DC after reading though LS and must say these are at the top of my list for must reads. After weeks of archive diving I am finaly current with DC and now must endure the nail-biting real timewait between pages. I was very good for the first thousand pages - not just archive diving but reading all of the comments and folloing links. However, impatience and involvement got the better of me then and I've skipped the last 300+ pags of comments. Just had to see what happened next! I also observe that here is an entirely different feel between the total immersion of archive diving and relative toe-dipping tri-weekly single page reads.

Regarding today's page, I am afraid this is a bit harsh but I have a new perspective on Lynn. My first reaction to todays' behavior is "what an arrogant bitch!"

Apparently Lynn has not learned a single thing from her impetuousness and all the trouble she has caused. She is willing to jeprodize the operation of an entire city-state just to satisfy her curiosity. She is a guest in the house of Aeneas, she is very well aware of the instability of his mind, and she is well versed in the delicacy and fragility of AIs. Yet she jumped at the opportunity to pull the plug on repairs in mid defrag. That is way beyond irresponsible! The consequences could have been disastrous.

I am also disappointed that Dolly made no move to stop her.

And big kudos to you Cent-Comm and TR for creating a world so real that I could get emotionally upset over fictional characters!

Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 1:30 AM edit delete reply

ive been sick with the flu or something this is why i have not been on much I do have to say something about Lynns actions here.

Dolly *did* try to stop her But I in my painkiller induced haze did not show this very well.

And yes Lynn was about to make a mistake But she does that. Shes upset at having her boyfriend killed then alive Shes not all there She wants answers and she wants them NOW. All I can say is ill try to be better at showing things So ill just apologize.

And thank you glad to have you with us!
TheSkulker 22nd Jan 2016, 1:47 AM edit delete reply

Wow, that was fast. I tried to edit my comment but apparently can't once some has replied.

Absolutely NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE! The level of detail, the strict adherence to internal consistency, the realism that you achieve, the placement and expressions of your characters is so head and shoulders above any other comic artist on the internet that you should apologize to no one!

(If you really want to call attention to it, do what the software people do "That's not a bug. It's a feature!"

BTW, the link to ComicFury that used to be at the bottom of the page seems to have disappeared. Intentional?
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 1:52 AM edit delete reply

Actually if you make a Comic Fury free account you can edit to your hearts content! :D And it shows support for the comic. ( ie Subscribing )

I see the link Sooo not sure whats going on :D

And thank you :D
TheSkulker 22nd Jan 2016, 3:23 AM edit delete reply

Already have and have had for some time. Had to go to my profile page to logout.

Links on the bottom are (L-R):
TWC, Comic-Rocket, comic basement, donate
LS, S&S, TV-Tropes

Oh, now I see it - at the extreme bottom - dark purple against a black background (visited site). Almost invisible. Needs more contrast and a bit of "white space" padding before the border.
Timotheus 22nd Jan 2016, 1:43 AM edit delete reply

There are limits to all rational restraints. Lynn's have been thoroughly crossed by a good margin. (She's been dealing with kidnappers, torture, insane rulers, rapists, loved ones being blown away in front of her, desperate escapes, people she cares about dying tragically, sudden arrivals of saviors but not relieving the danger, and now a dead boyfriend is alive and present at her destination before she arrived and doing god knows what.) She wants answers irregardless of circumstances.
TheSkulker 22nd Jan 2016, 1:50 AM edit delete reply

Yes, she does. But it is still extremely irresponsible.

And, coming from a "royal" family, she is held to a higher standard.
Wolfsbane 22nd Jan 2016, 1:55 AM edit delete reply

Reminds me of a certain young Jedi who couldn't control his emotions, either, and wound up in a heap-load of trouble...
sigpig 22nd Jan 2016, 11:17 AM edit delete reply

Lynn IS only 18-years-old, remember...
DLKmusic 22nd Jan 2016, 6:26 PM edit delete reply

Welcome to the Clubhouse, TheSkulker! I think that this is a great post and I agree with a lot of it. Lynn is very much an "Act first, think later" type of person, and has been since the beginning of the strip.

That being said, she has been raised more as the "Millionaires Daughter" than as "Princess of the Realm", and I think even at this late stage of the game, she still doesn't realize that for all intents and purposes, that's what she is.

And I agree with you entirely about Cent-Comm owing an apology to no one!

So! Pull up a chair and watch the show! We have beer and popcorn
Stormwind13 22nd Jan 2016, 8:02 PM edit delete reply

Truthfully DLK I would have been surprised and shocked if Lynn had done anything ELSE.

Lynn is obviously intelligent, but she is VERY young (as sigpig points out she just turned 18) and is in WAY over her head. The place she is in right now has virtually NOTHING to do with where and how she was raised. No matter how smart you are, tossing out 18 years of experiences in 10 days/2 weeks (whatever time has passed) would be a bit much to expect.
Matt Knab 22nd Jan 2016, 3:07 AM edit delete reply

Speed lines!! XD
Sounds like it's explanation time?
HiFranc 22nd Jan 2016, 4:54 AM edit delete reply

Given that Acantha has already explained the contingencies, it should make things easier.
cattservant 22nd Jan 2016, 5:30 AM edit delete reply

TR is sill safely in the onion bin.
Steven-Vincent 22nd Jan 2016, 7:17 AM edit delete reply

OK... I just have to say... 1351 pages and you are approaching the end of the FIRST ARC of this comic?!?

If this were a print comic, this would be like the first story arc taking 60 issues. That is just amazing. You put the print authors to shame with their dinky little 5-issue story arcs. THIS is how to do a story arc.
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 9:53 AM edit delete reply

Well to be fair Datachasrs isn't intended to end. The next two arcs are planned out roughly at this time as well :D
Steven-Vincent 22nd Jan 2016, 11:21 AM edit delete reply

Right but my point is, your story arcs have actual meat on their bones... a lot of meat. If this is one arc, we are looking at a full-on turkey dinner with all the trimmings and side dishes, plus dessert. Compared to this the 'decompressed' modern story arc that is 5 issues long and probably would take a total of 40 minutes to read all 5 issues, is like a half-sandwich on stale bread.
DLKmusic 22nd Jan 2016, 6:27 PM edit delete reply

Well said! Please pass the potatoes!
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 7:59 PM edit delete reply

FIRST arc? *Big grin* I'll just go out and get myself a barrel of popcorn kernels for the the next ten years then. :D
anonymous coward 22nd Jan 2016, 9:16 AM edit delete reply
Yeah, that declaration caught me similarly. That announcement makes me worry the esteemed creators might not finish despite making it well past a thousand comics in.
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 11:55 AM edit delete reply

We will only stop if we die or computers stop working .... muhahaha!
Wolfsbane 22nd Jan 2016, 1:31 PM edit delete reply

I am starting to wonder if only my kids will get to see the end of the story... ;)
Sheela 22nd Jan 2016, 6:24 PM edit delete reply

Imagine what the renders will look like in ten years ?
anonymous coward 22nd Jan 2016, 10:03 PM edit delete reply
Less detailed, because of power rationing in the post-collapse future?

Heheh. "Let's wake his ass up and find out!" XD
Centcomm 22nd Jan 2016, 11:56 AM edit delete reply

I know right?

Stormwind13 22nd Jan 2016, 8:08 PM edit delete reply

Totally agree D-Wrek. She did a great job with Kagami (with an assist to Rose for having a design). :-D
chk 22nd Jan 2016, 12:01 PM edit delete reply

Another proverbial iron in the equally proverbial fire. Who the hell is Kagami and what are the three treasures of Shinado?

I don't recall having ever heard them mentioned.
Stormwind13 22nd Jan 2016, 12:43 PM edit delete reply

They've been mentioned a few times (mostly in comments) chk. They were shown on a page though. I'll see if I can find it when I'm not on the phone. :-)
chk 22nd Jan 2016, 2:12 PM edit delete reply

And I thought I'd been paying attention.

O daaang!!! I fear that poop is about to hit the fan! D: D:
Sheela 23rd Jan 2016, 1:12 PM edit delete reply

The darn poop has been about to hit the fan for almost 7 years now.
Somehow our creative duo has managed to keep it in suspended animation, just infront of the fan-blade for that long.

Some say it's deliberate, others say by accident - all we know is, he's called, the S... /BREAK

/start:runtime:REWRITE :

- all we know is, SHE's called Tokyo Rose.

HeSerpenty 23rd Jan 2016, 1:35 PM edit delete reply

Perhaps so... but THIS poop has corn in it X'D
Lukkai 25th Jan 2016, 10:37 PM edit delete reply

In DC, poop does not hit the fan. This is more like an outboard motor on a boat, plowing over a lake of the stuff! And sometimes they rev it up.

(That is no comment on the quality, mind you. Just on the stuff going down.)
Centcomm 26th Jan 2016, 12:27 AM edit delete reply

Yep the fecal matter is loaded into the high pressure hose aimed at the high speed turbine lol
