Be fair, that is an accurate and legitimate complaint by the Hungarian judge. Since the allowable ratings they can give are only in increments of a whole tenth of a point they couldn't give any less of a penalty than that, and they did note an actual flaw in the performance there which we can hear in the playback. Besides, they drop the lowest and the highest ratings before working out the average, meaning that 9.9 gets dropped anyway. So take a few deep breaths and relax, eh?
Quintus does it have anything to do with her going for center of mass & slicing through body & armor with no effort?
To bad she didn't have the joy package installed.
The joybits are wasted mass and volume with the added negative of an unnecessary vulnerability if you don't have any plans to use them. It's not like there are very many people in Nova Roma who'd really wanna get busy with one of the Cassians anyway.
Although those who WOULD want to "get busy" would have to a) be capable; b) be DEEMED capable; and c) be ready for the ride of their life (because it could end immediately after, if not during, like the mating habits of the preying mantis)...
No problem! In a flash, it slices, it dices, it juliennes....
I just can't get the old 'veg-a-matic' pitchmen's live presentations in the Sear's aisles or at the endcap of a supermarket in the early 60's outta my head... lol!
What's a gratuitously violent not-a-cliffhanger among 'friends?' Though the opposition may not recover from their heart attacks. I take good Captain Canoi is being left as a treat for Laetitia Sapiro
Wait, wait, for her to look like a lotus she'd have to be considerably more unclothed than this when Quintus sees her fighting.
Kinky, perhaps disturbingly so.
While the battle design omitted the internal "joy bits", was the external form chosen back when they were working for a more normal administration in the role of maintaining the peace and protecting the citizens, it was easier for folk to feel comfortable around them if they did not look like obvious war machines with sharp pointy bits?
In accordance with New Rome's long-standing laws regarding android design, the Cassians all have decidedly unusual appearances, but most of them were intended to be, at least, not overtly threatening. :D
I always dislike that phrase "No wasted movements." There are always wasted movements as one person has to set up or respond to the other person's actions. The only way to avoid having wasted movements is to control both sides of a fight so it is perfectly choreographed, which isn't really a fight.
What you can have is "Unnecessary movements". (There is a difference)
That presumes that "set up" or "response" is "waste" -- a point I do not concede. If they serve a purpose -- and I suspect most serious artists would assert that they do -- then they are not 'wasted'.
The better you can predict an enemy's movement, the less wasted effort on your own part.
Thus a very skilled fighter will waste less energy, and can therefore fight longer.
This is important.
Yeah, EverVigilant that is a SCARY level of skill. She doesn't look like she has been fighting at all. She looks AWESOME in the last panel! Great job, CentComm.
Oh and I just had a thought (scary I know). I don't think that thmp is Noctis landing. I think that is the last of those Blueboys' bodies hitting the ground! If the floor is carpeted it would absorb most of the sound.
If Noctis were to make any noise, it would be much like the cat who decides in the middle of the night to run thru the house with extra gravity--purely for the effect while setting everyone on edge. :)
Its a volumetric fire set from Daz not sure what its called. Ill have to look it up - I paired each one with its own point light - I think there are like 20 point lights in this scene.
I forgot to mention how much I love dynamics of Panel 1. Especially the "Matrix bullet-time" move to avoid getting her left... pec(?) shot off. Such an amazingly fluid and dynamic pose!
Let the bodies hit the floor!
Let the bodies hit the floor!
Hungarian judges. @$%@^@##$@#&$%^#@#!
YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHH GET SOME

And had some fun with the Gladiators.

Democlus would have stood better ground against Nox with such training.
"One, two! One two! And through and through
His vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead and with it's head
He went galumphing back."
I can't see Noctis galumphing, or collecting heads for that matter, but the vorpal blade and snicker-snack bit sure fits.
very good!
Kinky, perhaps disturbingly so.

On the other hand: A relationship doesn't necessarily have to have a sexual component.
Not that it helped him any. Still impressive.
