Saying that bit about RvB makes me think. And I think Kyle's caboose in this manner. Hmm Dolly is Tex. Rose is Sarge, Hmm filling in this roster is gonna be hard
Yeah catt. I don't think he's going to get by her easily. Though even now I think they are treating him gently. I mean Kusanagi hasn't handed him his head (which after attacking Rose I kinda expected).
Agreed mjkj, Kusanagi is beautiful here. And I see her as FIERCE! She is the military component of the Three Treasures so she should be determined. I also think she is protecting Tokyo Rose right now.
So you definitely are giving Aeneas good advice to listen to her. Sadly I don't think he is really listening to either Kusanagi or you. Probably going to get noisy and messy. :-p
Thought that might be the rationale. Either that or "too many triangles", from a practical standpoint. But does that mean that, in cyberspace, Kusanagi's blade is always naked (which makes a statement), or that it disappears entirely when not in use (which would seem ... inelegant for one of the treasures), or just that the scabbard manifests in more peaceful times (which we just haven't seen yet ^_^)?
On the other hand, depending on which Hong Kong cinema you watch, the scabbard can form a significant component of your fighting style. I'm jus' sayin' is all ... ^_^
To mix web comics here, Kusanagi's sword is like Oblivion, the sword wielded by MiniMax. When she lets go it vanishes. when she reaches for it a hole opens to the past to where it was released and she draws it again. No possibly for a scabbard because anything it touches is unmade.
Cent took several weeks to build the sets and arrange the lighting for this sequence. Everybody sees the end result and praises it, but y'all don't know how much that means to Cent--we're talking hours upon hours of work just to put in details that aren't immediately obvious. And then there's the postwork, such as layering multiple renders and applying other effects. I have the comparatively easy job.
Well I at least appreciate all the hard work both of you put in to entertain us. I can barely comprehend all the work CentComm puts in to make such gorgeous images. :-)
If Aeneas persists, Kusanagi will sock-et to him. She will wreak havoc on his baud, and make him pack-et in. To help the swelling go down he will need a code compress. If he were more like Decimus, she might make him stream in his pants -- but, if he did, she wouldn't brag about it afterwards, because she is discrete.
And we have encountered Roses first level Black Ic program I'd sit back down Aeneas, this one looks like a level 10 and I'm betting they only get worse from here.
And one designed, optimized or just so inclined to military operations. Plus Kusanagi has been kept current on upgrades. Aeneas is several decades behind on those, I fear. This should be such an a$$-whopping as to not be a fight.
I agree that all the advantage is with Kusanagi if it comes to a fight. She's in full health, is completely prepared, is informed about her opponent's capabilities and vulnerabilities, occupies a superior (defensive) position, and has ready access to allies if she needs them. None of these things seems to be true for Aeneas. Technology may actually be a push since really old systems (like CentComm and Tokyo Rose and Deep Blue) seem more powerful and more capable than relatively new A.I.S. Also, we don't know how old the Treasures actually are and how tolerant their design is of incremental upgrade.
However, if it comes to a fight, the Treasures have already lost. Kusanagi's objective is likely to be _not_ to fight, merely to hold Aeneas long enough for the repairs to complete. Recall that the objective is to heal him, not demonstrate one's superior firepower by beating up on an already crippled A.I.S. Maybe she should suggest that the two of them row out to a small island in the digital stream and have their duel there? ^_^
If the two were both healthy, who would win in a fight is something known only to the creatrixes. Even if we grant Kusanagi some degree of technology advantage, don't forget the issue of their underlying mainframes. As far as I can tell, size does matter. Aeneas, when fully healthy, has a brain the size of a city-state and vast resources. I don't think we've been told what is hosting the Treasures, but if it's a doll-sized chassis, the mainframe-hosted A.I.S. might well come out on top. (Of course, under those circumstances, it would probably be much easier for the doll-hosted A.I.S. to just retreat out of range and come up with a different plan. Cities are not known for their foot speed in pursuit -- and any remotely dispatched units would no doubt be easy meat for a locally present A.I.S.)
Possibly ... do we know in how many sizes A.I.S. come in? And whether or not size matters is just conjecture on my part -- but it seems reasonable given the way A.I.S. talk to each other about each other.
I mean, isn't a sparked doll just a very small A.I.S.?
I agree with you, @Sheela, that it seems as if colloquial usage for "A.I.S." seems to be only for big, impressive, distributed installations, but I'm not sure if that's a difference of degree, or of kind.
I'm not sure that your way of measuring A.I. 'size' is correct though. As much as we all want to know just how many 'users' Tokyo Rose can 'service' simultaneously, I'm afraid those data files are locked in File 201. And I'm pretty sure that Aeneas' avatar might well have to be reworked with extra peripheral connections. ^_^
I don't think of A.I.S. as having 'users'. It seems to me the closest thing they have are 'purposes' or 'agendas' or 'missions'. And then, within the scope of those definitions they have 'clients' or 'constituents' or 'wards' and 'everybody else'. Subject, of course, to the notion that Mankind is endlessly inventive, so that saying "You can't build an A.I.S. to work _this_ way" is immediately taken as a challenge by someone to prove that statement wrong. Rule 34 suggests that there is at least one A.I.S. created or under construction dedicated exclusively to the production of ever-increasing quantities of porn. ^_^
Whoa hey now, Rose will be mad as hell if you try to steal her porn!
Also, being a telecomm technician, I can tall you that the difference of capability between an in building telephone central, versus a a public telephone central, is as huge as the difference between a Doll AI and an AIS - Brute Force is a thing.
And you know darn well he'll get confused over his favorite color.
(It's sad but I have no idea what a lot of the more modern game references are. The last electronic game I personally played this dog kept laughing at me when I missed.)
This page must have lodged into my mind subconsciously (especially the Tolkein references). On Sunday, whilst waiting for a grocery deliverhy (and feeling quite hungry), I was thinking thoughts such as, "Me wantss sandwichess -- dirty hobitsess keeping it away from me."
Oh, and is that Kusangi? If it is she looks Soooooo much better than she did before.
Please don't hurt me Rose....
Also competent and not like someone to be trifled with.
Aeneas, you better follow her orders...
So you definitely are giving Aeneas good advice to listen to her. Sadly I don't think he is really listening to either Kusanagi or you. Probably going to get noisy and messy. :-p

... not a big feat there.
It takes a lot of work!
( some of these make me want to scream sometimes :D

Aeneas have one thing going for him though, unpredictability.
I mean, isn't a sparked doll just a very small A.I.S.?
It's an AI, but not an AIS, the AIS's are buildt to service many concurrent users, while the AI of a doll is just a single user.
If I got the terminology correct - I could be wrong, I'm not one of the creators after all.
