Awesome. :)
ProfEtheric 2nd Aug 2016, 8:54 PM edit delete reply

Yay! It's here! :D

Seriously, this was a lot of fun to do!
Centcomm 2nd Aug 2016, 9:00 PM edit delete reply

You did a fantastic job Prof .. thank you - Take a bow! :D
Sheela 3rd Aug 2016, 1:21 AM edit delete reply

Yeah, this is good stuff.
I am particularly enjoying CentComm's internal dialogue.
There's so much good material to write about how artificial intelligences differ from humans.
Tokyo Rose 3rd Aug 2016, 4:59 AM edit delete reply

I had fun writing the original story, and seeing how you interpreted it into visuals is awesome. Thanks a ton :)
ProfEtheric 3rd Aug 2016, 7:57 AM edit delete reply

I was more than happy to do it, Rose! I am a fan of your writing, and the chance to bring it to life was a great one. :)
Dragonrider 2nd Aug 2016, 9:03 PM edit delete reply

Centcomm reminds me of the Evil Witch or the Evil Stepmother in Cinderella. Give her a basket of apples and it would be perfect.
Centcomm 2nd Aug 2016, 11:44 PM edit delete reply

hehe.. except she treats the taylors like gold...
mjkj 2nd Aug 2016, 9:03 PM edit delete reply

Ugh, so it was a cliffhanger... =S

Great page, Prof.
ProfEtheric 2nd Aug 2016, 9:34 PM edit delete reply

Thankies! :)
Stormwind13 3rd Aug 2016, 5:06 AM edit delete reply

I'm not sure that was the original plan, mjkj; however, when Terri suffered the heart attack and bypass whatever the plan HAD been went out the window.

Thank you for stepping up Prof to help out.
ProfEtheric 3rd Aug 2016, 7:58 AM edit delete reply

Terri is a friend, and I love the Data Chasers stuff, so helping out was a joy. Besides, Dolly is one of my favorite characters. Ever. :)
Visvires 2nd Aug 2016, 9:11 PM edit delete reply
For a second there I thought maybe something was wrong with your rendering program.
Centcomm 2nd Aug 2016, 11:45 PM edit delete reply

nope its Datachasers in 2d! .. there are sopme other guest pieces that are coming down the pipe as well!
DLKmusic 2nd Aug 2016, 9:18 PM edit delete reply

Thanks for stepping in, Prof! This is awesomeness incarnate!
ProfEtheric 2nd Aug 2016, 9:35 PM edit delete reply

It was my genuine pleasure! :)

I was happy to play with Cent and Rose's toys.

Because it is canon, I am unsure how much I should fairly credit you for story things and how much comes from the original creatrices; however, let me say I love the notion of CentComm hiding the degree of her surveillance by making it seem as if she doesn't have information she already has. That seems both amusing and eminently credible to me. Well done.

I was also amused by "Feynman & Cooper", but if "Pulaski, Heyward, & Summer" are also authors of a Physics textbook, I don't know of that one. ^_^
Centcomm 2nd Aug 2016, 10:13 PM edit delete reply

this was originally in " story format " not script - Prof translated it to comic format and came up with the imagery on his own using the existing framework the story is actually canon as it really happened. its a really sweet story and it will shed some light on some of cents actions.
ProfEtheric 2nd Aug 2016, 10:42 PM edit delete reply

I was literally just the art monkey on this one. Centy sent me the story and I did my best to do it justice.
Centcomm 2nd Aug 2016, 11:20 PM edit delete reply

pfft Art monkey.. you did a fantastic job Prof.. thank you.
ProfEtheric 3rd Aug 2016, 12:03 AM edit delete reply

I was honored to have the chance, Centy. :)
HiFranc 3rd Aug 2016, 12:41 AM edit delete reply

I think the most curious thing about this is the fact that CentComm feels the need to play this. As much she tries to portray herself as cold, this shows that she feels.
Tokyo Rose 3rd Aug 2016, 5:03 AM edit delete reply

When I wrote the story, I meant to demonstrate that Cent literally has to work at it to come across as more "human" and less "omniscient A.I. system"... and she actually does work at it in appropriate situations.
Matt Knab 3rd Aug 2016, 1:04 PM edit delete reply

Awesome, I recognize that art style!
jamie59 3rd Aug 2016, 7:40 PM edit delete reply

Centcomm that's a very exact age for Calliope. Did you time from crowning, feet out,or first breath/scream?
Gilrandir 3rd Aug 2016, 7:52 PM edit delete reply
Possibly time of decanting. Given the state of the art for New Troy medicine, their 'squeamishness' about purely biological processes, the probable reluctance to expose any of the Helios direct line to the inherent risks of natural childbirth, etc., I wouldn't find it at all unlikely that they use uterine replicators (ala McMaster-Bujold's "Vorkosigan" universe).

Alternatively, it may be that a baby isn't born in New Troy until the entry is made in the city database. ^_^. In which case you just use the transaction time stamp.
Centcomm 3rd Aug 2016, 11:50 PM edit delete reply

actually the taylors are known for natural child brith so the date is " recorded DOB "
Tokyo Rose 4th Aug 2016, 5:11 AM edit delete reply

Right. Including the timestamp. :D
Dragonrider 4th Aug 2016, 6:11 AM edit delete reply

Terri, Krissy, hope neither of you are close to the area the Phoenix shooter is targeting. Read on CNN about another round last night.
Centcomm 4th Aug 2016, 7:32 AM edit delete reply

ugh.. again? .. well im staying inside,,,
Stormwind13 4th Aug 2016, 8:50 AM edit delete reply

Sounds like it is over in Maryvale (part of Glendale) which isn't near you, I believe. Still be careful, because it sounds like the guy is being random who gets shot.
