Argylefox next page will be on Wednesday. But I wanted to share this LIVE page with you.. Also im doing well so far.. And now the hard thing to break is the not smoking and rendering ... but im getting it done.
Saw a comic that had a decent number of people fall by the wayside for 5 months, and then when he startet back up he couldn't understand why there was no readers left.
But - With fan updates and all that, you're nowhere like that. :)
@HiFranc: 5 comics that all have huge followings, and have been getting consistant votes at this level for 2 years, unfortunately...
Still, Being Right behind Girl Genius and Grrl Power is Pretty Damned Impressive!!!! even more so since Data Chaser votes have been consistant at about 600 a day for 4 months!
Well Done, Everyone!!!! ROSE! CENT! GUESS WHAT!!! We LOVE YOU!!!!
Hah, if Tokyo Rose had to go on stage and talk about how it is to be as high ranked as the dynamic Foglio Duo, she would probably alternate between hyperventilating and squeeing, if they also got up on stage.
I'm not sure if she has realised how well this comic is doing in the rankings.
I thought @Tokyo Rose was defined by her calm, phlegmatic disposition and languid, relaxed emotional response to any possible circumstance? Surely, if she were sharing a stage with the Professors Foglio, she'd just peacefully bide her time (possibly nodding off for a bit of a nap) until it was her turn to address the audience, right? ^_^
Slipped to 8 since this morning. But still, anything in the top 10 is impressive. I also find the fact that LunaStar being in the top 50 as often as it is (most of the time) impressive given that it was finished a long time ago.
And I find Rose's reactions to celebrity funny. :)
Oh, and lets not forget that Neil Gaiman is kinda handsome too, you'd miss out on that if you fainted.
Good to see this, again you're not as well as you feel you are. Ask the Doc if you can do this Please. Yes I nag.
In process of reread, have one page do not redo don't mess with perfection, when Dolly clocks Cent back on her ass.
You need two computers. One to model on, and one to render on. Or, one to model on, and one to play/surf/chat on. That way you're not waiting on the render one to get back in.
Alternately, you need a decent personal library.
Out of curiosity, how long does rendering take? I've seen people mention 5min to 18hours or more, depending on the scene and their system. I'm guessing it's long enough that waiting for it can get boring, but shorter than just letting it run overnight.
Also, I imagine there's a bit of "babysitting"? For example, it looks like this comic has 4 renders, plus I assume the comic layout and text isn't part of the render.
Rendering is a tricky question. It can take anywhere between 5 min to a hour. the way i do things. and Daz tries to suck up all my ram to do the renders. its greedy that way.
I'd have suspected it to be CPU or GPU bound. I'd donate the funds right now for 64GB of shiny new RAM, if her computer supports it and it would help. (RAM is like one of the cheapest and easiest system upgrades these days)
Some of the best speed upgrades to systems these days tend to be SSD disks ... I'm speaking in general terms here though, don't know if it would apply to Centcomms machine.
The advantage of a second computer to use as a distraction is it wouldn't have to be a workhorse.
Something with enough power to check email, browse the web, and maybe play a few browser games would be enough for a distraction.
Or, you could just get an XBox One/PS4/WiiU.
Really glad to hear you are doing okay, CentComm. And extremely happy to see more of your (AWESOME) artwork. Please don't overdo it, but when you feel up to it... MORE PLEASE! :-D
And thank you to all the guest artists for your awesome efforts. :-)
When I was in Afghanistan when there was an IED incident on a route we had conducted a search on earlier, we would hear that. Problem with any clearance is that as soon as you take your eyes off of it, the route becomes less and less reliable. I sympathize.
First, thank you for your service Skweeee. Second I'm glad you made it home. Third, just because you clear something doesn't mean the other side is going to leave it CLEAR. In fact they frequently try to clog it up again.
German military strategist Helmuth von Moltke once said : “No battle plan,” he sagely noted, “survives contact with the enemy.”
It seems to hold true with New Romans too, the enemy just won't do as you want them to do.
Heck, I reckon that goes for clearing mines as well ... when your plan meets the real world, the real world wins.
A thought: What does "Drop your weapons" really mean to someone in full battle armor with integrated weaponry? Next time she confronts a con-goer with a Gatling gun for a shoulder dragon, TeeDee should probably reconsider her dialogue options. ^_^
IM sure Teedee could have said something better but she went for the classic .. and in her parlance Drop em means lower the barrels or de-target. Or power them down.
Alternatively, it's a clever plan by TeeDee to put them in a situation that will end up with her shooting at them ... because she needs some more shooting!
Actually I chalked it up to TeeDee's training. She is probably trained more like the police than the Marines.
Also TeeDee is lucky she is dealing with PROFESSIONALS, If they were trained like the Blueboys, it could have been VERY messy considering how heavily armed the suit is.
Stay strong.
Also, this cliffhanger... so mean! XD
It must be pretty weird for TeeDee.
(Odds are, based on the guest artist pages, that the smart money is on 'ask a question'. ^_^)
"How many bullets do you have, and can I have them?" :D
News to me!
Everyone is happy to sit back and let you heal.

If I was in a room with Neil Gaiman, I would probably pass out.
Called it! ^_^
And I find Rose's reactions to celebrity funny. :)
Oh, and lets not forget that Neil Gaiman is kinda handsome too, you'd miss out on that if you fainted.
But I am glad you and your willpower are winning.
In brightest day, in blackest night,
No cigarette will I ignite.
Let others fill their lungs with blight,
I have the strength to do what's right!

Praying for your recovery.

Have you priced rendering services?

On a sidenote, how much RAM do you have ?
In some situations a faster disk might still make a big difference though, for an additional boost once RAM upgrade options have been exhausted...

(And yes, stopping smoking can be a mother fucker. Glad you're doing OK.)
Thank you, Cent, great to hear from you... *hugs*
And thank you to all the guest artists for your awesome efforts. :-)
You still have at least a quarter of a century left in you, and probably more!

im really glad you commented! and yes that is so true! :D

I had read in an Able team book about the guys in the team breaking down a door and yelling "SEX POLICE" And the guys in the room actually stopped.
I thought it was jilarious.
and then a few years later while working for the housing authority I did the same thing on an entry into an apartment.
And EVERYONE stopped. Including the two officers with me.
It just gobsmacked 'em.
And I'm tired and still in a lot of pain from MY dr visit.
I'm going to go lie down now.
