No, Julia doesn't get turned on by the sight of blood. However... Sykes is was the guy that provided "special training" to select slaves--mostly selected by Prince Decimus--and he really enjoyed his job. Decimus chose Julia from a new batch of slaves, Julia was sent to Sykes, and Sykes took a shine to her and gave her... extra attention.
Julia has nightmares about Sykes.
Sight of blood, nah. Sight of closure... that's another matter.
BADDA BOOM BADDA BANG That took a left turn real damn fast, didn't expect Julia to let kids stay here in Nova Roma and definately Did Not see or expect a total soaking wet panties proposal of marriage in the middle of the worst carnage she has ever seen.
LOL. Julia is a former slave of Decimus, and a palace doctor who had to deal with the aftermath of Decimus and his team of elite murdering rapists. (When there was anyone left alive for her to treat, that is) This is nowhere near the worst carnage she has ever seen. It barely rates a Tuesday.
Julia probably doesn't even notice blood splatter anymore, except when she needs to guesstimate how many units she'll need to pump back into a victim.
She probably did look at the guy's remains, but only because it's become a reflex to assess which parts (if any) are intact enough to transplant into living victims. Although, in this case, she might've had to stare at him for a bit, for it to sink in that he's finally dead.
Well... that is kind of surprising. Not the moment I would have expected Julia to pop the question, but what do I know.
Miraiko did tell Julia that she would protect her and that she wasn't a frail barrier {Trust, 24 October 2014}. Now she has proven it. Plus Miraiko told her she loved her at the same time, so the question isn't a huge surprise, just the timing.

Some people are aroused by violence, and bloodshed. It's called Erotophonophilia Murder, often of strangers (also known as dacnolagnomania)erotophonophilia, is sexual arousal or gratification contingent on the death of a human being.
Not to me - Miraiko gave her justice and, more importantly, set the trapped people nearby free. Julia knows that the agent in her would just let those people be. Wild speculation here: Whilst she was waiting she may have realised how uncertain life is after they leave.
Actually from Miriakos expression she is also having a hard time processing this at this time and place. Think for the first time Julia actually shocked her.
For some reason, I'm getting a 'Carrie' flashback. Well, that was a high fly ball to center field. It must be the blood. Those two youngsters are pretty sanguine for just seeing a woman morph into a silver warrior and make bloody cold cuts of their former captor; they even want to travel with her.
They think that was scary? Just wait till they see Tokyo Rose planning a wedding!
I'm not so sure that's the scariest thing they've ever seen. Seeing a comic book superhero come to life and splatter an evil asshat all over the room might be pretty scary, but they were just staring at a lifetime of getting brutally raped and tortured, so that's pretty hard to top. Plus, it wouldn't surprise me if Douchemus televised torture and executions. This might only be the scariest thing they've seen since the last 'After School Special'.
Ok, I was exaggerating a lot, but my point is that whether she was there to free them or kill them, they've got a lot less pain in their future now, than they did 5 minutes ago.
I'm actually rather more concerned about the blood stain that goes under the shoulder strap instead of being on it. It's on both sides of the exposed torso, but not a serious trace on the cloth. That would require an extremely unusual blood spatter to create.
That's a limitation of the medium. To create the blood splatters, Cent had two choices:
1) Use surface shaders or the Layered Image Editor in DAZ Studio. This can be fast and easy, but the results aren't always very good, and a given material zone can really only have one shader applied.
2) "Paint" the splatters directly onto the texture maps for Miraiko's body and clothes. There are a number of maps involved, and this process can take much more time and work to get seams to match up on a given figure... never mind getting them to match up on skin and clothing alike.
We didn't have any buffer at all this week, so Cent had no time to get the spatter patterns matched up exactly. That big blood splotch across Miraiko's chest that doesn't have a corresponding blotch on the shirt strap is just something that happened in the process, and the viewer kinda has to roll with it.
If they viewer was consistent, they would have noticed the same situation on monday. I figured painting the model was a better choice as to keep the splatters consistent shot to shot. then you just go back to the saved clean one when she gets the gully worm off'er.
We could always write it off as one of the many hydrophobic polymers that would quite readily repel blood. You will notice how it's just running quite normally off the rest of it, or beading, rather than absorbing.
I've had to clean up blood spatter a few times (massive sneeze, bloody nose, not fun at any point of the process.) and I can say that varying materials will yield different results as the blood is on it. The under-arm splotch keeps getting re-smeared by her arm, the belly splotch appears to be about ready to run off as well, and based on what I've seeing the holds in the fabric are catching it a little. There also was probably a lot more there to start with.
Re: blood spatter, I can think of a number of ways it could get under the strap. Cencomm is doing a great job keeping up and with no buffer and health concerns, I say give her some slack, yeah?
Oh, you misunderstood, my comment at least. IRL CentComm deserves at least one internet of things for keeping everyone in the loop even when she wasn't at the top of her game.
I know blood spatter on cloth tends to spread as its absorbed by the cloth but surprisingly most retain the shape unless mixed with other thinner liquids.
Primarily it is the coagulative properties of blood that makes it tend to set in place as it's absorbed on cloth. Also why it's so hard to remove. And surprisingly, it's not really water soluble, but rather partly an organic liquid. (And I only mentioned it because the lack of a stain was so noticeable there, the artist can do as she pleases when she pleases.)
No, Julia ... don't do it! You may think the two of you are a perfect match and that -- after her horrid and suffering-laden time undercover in Nova Roma -- Miraiko is ready to retire as an operative and settle down to a comfortable little domestic homestead free from hazard and strife, but ...
We've seen how CentComm retires her black operatives. Who's to say that Tokyo Rose is any different?
On the other hand, if we did get the sidestory of their honeymoon in Shinedo, including the horizontal language lessons, could we title that Lust in Translation? ^_^
(... Or maybe that's just what Tokyo Rose wants us to think ...? Yeah, that's it! Can we dust off the whole "Tokyo Rose is scheming for Global Domination under Shinedo, with herself running things behind the scenes as the Shadow Empress" conspiracy theory? As proof I offer the incontrovertible fact that no piece of evidence has ever been found anywhere to support this theory! Only a truly global conspiracy of unfathomable power could achieve that! Yeah ... I think we're onto som- ...)
Mistreating an agent who has come through hell to get a job done is totally not Rose's style. Oh, the agent may get cussed at from minute to minute, but that's just how Tokyo Rose breathes.
I suspect that Miraiko will be remunerated very generously, and has several years of very generous back pay coming to her.
But I do not expect her to "retire" any time soon. Rose will send her on new adventures when she needs an operative for new adventures. If they do get married, and it's a long-term job, then Julia is likely to accompany her.
What little I have seen of Julia suggests to me that she is not well-suited to the demands of operations in the field. Not that she would not do her best on behalf of someone important to her, but that her existing trauma and troubled history leaves her emotionally unstable in the face of long term stress -- especially in a covert, high-risk situation. Of course, I might be completely misjudging her.
Really, in my opinion, there is so much currently unexposed of both Julia's and Miraiko's psyche that it would be very difficult to predict what (if any) prospects they have for a long-term relationship and what form that relationship might take. Miraiko strikes me as the sort who, if asked, would say she is far too sensible to ever again accept any kind of job offer from Tokyo Rose even remotely like the job she has just finished. Unlike other long-term agents who seem to thrive in the role (ala James Bond), she doesn't give me that 'adrenaline-junkie' vibe.
Judging by how Julia wields that gun, my analogy is not very exact, but I could see her being a Molly Hooper who stays behind doing awesome medical work to Miraiko's field-active Sherlock.
(*There's a spoiler to explain that connection further, if needed*)
hehe .. never say never... i can see it now,, Archpriest under Julia's recommendation, gives the kids to the "Queen" so Julia an Miraiko see the kids every time the queen visits..!!!
aunty Miraiko can you teach me how to break a mans hand please... not at the table dear, maybe later...
Ah love, isn't it a wonderful thing?
Miraiko looks a bit... Speechless? maybe even surprised or a combination of the two.
cant wait to see the reaction. and if Miraiko accepts, how would that effect her... position/work for Tokyo Rose, provided Tokyo Rose still has a job for her.
Don't see why everyone wonders if she will accept. She just said, to Julia, not thirty minutes ago you are the only souvenir of this place I want to take with me. She has been calling her pet names all this trip, she was worried sick Julia wouldn't go with her and Rose would make her kill Julia, she has told Julia she loved her, she told Sikes she was doing this for Julia and her both. She's shocked the proposal came when it did possibly because she was planning on proposing to Julia either on the trip to their new home or as soon as she got Julia in their house.
Guess that's not so bad considering she's a Doctor.

Awwww... Julia proposed... <3 ♡
PS: I really like that heart shaped speech bubble...

No . . . Thank YOU :)
.. timing .. yay! but wow..
p.s. the nanoweave may have a different absorption rate than cloth or skin....
umm... never mind. forget I asked.
how do I change the name on this post again...?
We've seen how CentComm retires her black operatives. Who's to say that Tokyo Rose is any different?
We've seen that the nanites are in place.
I'm just sayin', is all. ^_^
So noted, @Centcomm. <smile>

But I could easily be completely wrong.

aunty Miraiko can you teach me how to break a mans hand please... not at the table dear, maybe later...
having said that, there is still a lot that can go wrong. The Cassian sniper is still doing overwatch on Doc Silver for instance.
Miraiko looks a bit... Speechless? maybe even surprised or a combination of the two.

LOL
Ahhh the timing!
