Don't try getting anything by Grandma.
Haegan2005 23rd Jan 2018, 9:24 PM edit delete reply

I admit, I don't remember what happened to it.
megados 23rd Jan 2018, 9:40 PM edit delete reply

The player? I don't remember what finally became of it, but didn't Lynn fix it once?
Sheela 24th Jan 2018, 12:24 AM edit delete reply

Yes, she did.

I, also, cannot remember what happened to it.
Either it got destroyed, or was left behind when they left in a hurry.
Centcomm 24th Jan 2018, 11:30 AM edit delete reply

It was left behind. its still in Acantha's room actually.
JackOfClubs 24th Jan 2018, 12:32 PM edit delete reply

I'm guessing a lot of things in Nova Roma are in the past tense at the moment. Quite a few are in the subjunctive mood.
Sheela 24th Jan 2018, 8:44 PM edit delete reply

Oh, so it's not on fire ? :D
megados 23rd Jan 2018, 9:37 PM edit delete reply

Dec? Bitchy? Nah! XD

Maybe Lynn has some things to learn about Grandma?
Ebonbolt 24th Jan 2018, 4:16 AM edit delete reply

Lynn will never catch up with Grandma.
Sheela 24th Jan 2018, 12:22 AM edit delete reply

His bitchiness was over 9000 !
megados 24th Jan 2018, 7:51 AM edit delete reply

mjkj 24th Jan 2018, 1:41 AM edit delete reply

Wow, the same one? :o

...*lol* great change of subject there... =P
Centcomm 24th Jan 2018, 11:30 AM edit delete reply

yeppers same one!
Greenwood Goat 24th Jan 2018, 3:15 AM edit delete reply
Was it simply a case of...?

Adult Dec: able to conceal and even restrain his bitchiness - along with all his other numerous defects - when it suited him.

Li'l Dec-brat: his bitchiness and developing personality disorders were on display for all to see, only sometimes concealed and even more rarely restrained by his growing ability for deceit.
Kamy 24th Jan 2018, 3:24 AM edit delete reply

Is it just me, or is there any dark glitch to grand Ma's teeth ???

It looks strange ...
PaulRein 24th Jan 2018, 7:19 AM edit delete reply
I was just going to comment the same so, no, you're not the only one. They looked somewhat strange when she appeared in Calliope's lab as well. Maybe it is something with her model? (Most characters have natural looking teeth so it is noticeable when someone doesn't.)
Sheela 24th Jan 2018, 8:55 AM edit delete reply

It's the opposite of "Glow-mouth", it is "Black Hole Mouth" !!!

*dun dun duuuun*
Centcomm 24th Jan 2018, 11:29 AM edit delete reply

its a fill light error.. sighs.
Sheela 24th Jan 2018, 8:45 PM edit delete reply

Black Hole Mouths will swallow all !!! >_<
oldastronomer 24th Jan 2018, 10:54 AM edit delete reply
Not sure where to post this - earlier might have been a spoiler - but it looks like a change of regime in New Rome soon. I wonder if Aurelea Decelles, (family gruesomely offed by Noctis, Aurelia saved by Noctis splitting hairs), might Petition the Throne for Redress of Greivance - return of family house, property, etc....??? Change of regime, Jubilee, New Age, and all that.
Centcomm 24th Jan 2018, 11:29 AM edit delete reply

No her family was killed due to being a traitor to Valierus, Not Dec, all the proper channels were followed to degree the death, brutal but there you go.
Sheela 24th Jan 2018, 8:46 PM edit delete reply

All channels was followed, though a few were .. bent .. a little .. by Noctis. :)
megados 25th Jan 2018, 8:09 AM edit delete reply

The way I saw it, Noctis was directed to eliminate the traitors, and do it in such a way as to send a message/make an example. Noctis has the ability to be very precise; she followed her orders to the letter. She was informed that Aurelia was away, and Noctis had no instructions for the contingency of her being there. Noctis made a choice, which resolved the discrepancy, and gave a little insight into her personality. JMO YMMV
antrik 27th Jan 2018, 6:09 AM edit delete reply
My understanding is that Noctis specifically planned to strike when Aurelia was supposed to be away -- and only when it turned out to not be the case, she had to find another way to resolve the situation...
megados 27th Jan 2018, 10:57 AM edit delete reply

The problem came up when Noctis planned around information she was given, without verifying it for herself when she got there. She must have found that quite . . . vexing.
oldastronomer 24th Jan 2018, 11:53 AM edit delete reply
As you say, brutal, in a harsh age... I don't give much for a long life for Aurelia, not in that game.
On a slightly different tack, I wonder what the prospects are for the ending of slavery in New Rome.
Icefall Kitsune 24th Jan 2018, 12:09 PM edit delete reply

In my opinion...slim to none for at least 20 years. They might be able to free the older slaves who can actually work for pay. Those that were originally free and became slaves would be eligible as well if whatever the cause was can be satisfied. Those born into slavery or still young will be harder as they will need additional care. If Acantha can get it past the Senate that is.
Timotheus 25th Jan 2018, 2:45 AM edit delete reply

You're talking about an accepted social system. What can be done is the establishment of an enforced bill of rights for the slave class that along with the introduction of tolerance for artificial life forms can start to change the general political attitude. A phase out of slavery could then be considered, replacing it some form of wage bonding with guaranteed rights (one of the plans Lincoln was considering).

Hmmm, and just what is the significance of Athena's gift of a Tri-V player? Bugged, perhaps? Inquiring minds want to know.
Centcomm 24th Jan 2018, 6:21 PM edit delete reply

it was really just a gift. Sheesh.. :D
Sheela 24th Jan 2018, 8:49 PM edit delete reply

Unfortunately, Major Marcus Ramesey's R&D department got a hold of it, and it is now weaponized.
It likes to hang out with the Toaster and the Coffee machine.
megados 25th Jan 2018, 7:06 AM edit delete reply

A self-aware video player that comments on the videos?
Sheela 25th Jan 2018, 3:43 PM edit delete reply

... it's bound to happen.
DLKmusic 26th Jan 2018, 5:44 PM edit delete reply

Can I get the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 version of that please?
antrik 27th Jan 2018, 6:11 AM edit delete reply
That will be default. Not sure there will be any others, in fact ;-)
Sheela 27th Jan 2018, 5:22 PM edit delete reply

The MS3K version, is when they get to review rag on their own show. :)

I'm sure it has already happened.
megados 28th Jan 2018, 7:17 AM edit delete reply

It's already will have been going to happen. That's always been as should do. :D
KarToon12 24th Jan 2018, 2:47 PM edit delete reply

So Lynn's finding out just how much she really doesn't know.
Lurker314 25th Jan 2018, 12:03 AM edit delete reply
She's 18. Starting the journey a bit earlier than most, but she IS the heir to the ruling family... ;)
Rashala 26th Jan 2018, 12:14 AM edit delete reply

Her grandma sense is tingling!!!!!!!

Also I knew that purple fox was a rose operative!
DLKmusic 26th Jan 2018, 5:51 PM edit delete reply

I would like to make a small observation here. Everyone is pointing out how it's impossible to get anything past Grandma Athena. Has anyone besides me noticed that Grandma Athena "neglected" to tell Cent and Calliope that she already knew Acantha?
knuut 26th Jan 2018, 10:45 PM edit delete reply
Possible they already knew from prior conversations / debriefs and she didn't feel it necessary to remind them.
antrik 27th Jan 2018, 6:17 AM edit delete reply
Good point... Not sure about Drunken Taylor making the connection; but the Crystal Queen at least surely was able to guess as much, if she wasn't informed outright...
Gilrandir 29th Jan 2018, 10:09 AM edit delete reply
Athena is a trained diplomat, thus she realizes she doesn't know Acantha -- she met a little girl named Acantha many years ago. People change over time -- especially people exposed to wealth, power, and privilege. Athena is probably looking forward to getting to know Princess Acantha (soon to be Imperatrix Acantha of Nova Roma) and comparing her to the young lady she met earlier.

I am sure it was in CentComm's records that Athena had previously been introduced to a much younger Acantha, and it was given differing amounts of weight over an appropriate range in the Monte Carlo simulation of this meeting CentComm ran before deciding not to object.
Bullwinkle 28th Jan 2018, 5:30 AM edit delete reply
Grandma is smooth if she puts down Deck it could be considered an official insult to the royal family.
However if she agrees with Acantha it can't.
