She's a comm-droid, right ?
I think it would be part and parcel of her function/job.
Frankly, I don't think she would mind, as long as the results are satisfactory.
So do the Cavs Ian's have spare chassis in Nova Roma and the ability to swap into them? If so she could give them this one and use their temporary to get to one of her own and give their temporary back and give them a reward for reactivating her. It would be a hefty reward but she is also a primary security officer for a nation state and they would be helping her to report which could lead to lucrative contracts. Not Everyone likes being upgraded by Luna and their love of Chrome. I actually wonder who built the chassis originally. Nova Roma would not have trusted new Troy to do the work.
It does make one wonder. They must have access to some high-end tech and personnel involved in android creation. It wouldn't seem as though body swapping would be commonplace, or a simple matter. It's possible that there are entities out in the wastes, such as former techs, or "android engineers without borders" or something, I suppose.
There are some things about a Android that are 'plug and play ' provided they know what they are doing and the body and brain are compatible. The Maccs system makes that possible.
What do you get? How about not getting killed by a Cassian or her friends for dicking around with said Cassian. They may or may not be grateful but they certainly would be pissed if you did something other than assist her and I, for one wouldn't risk it.
I had the feeling Cassians were different than the regular droids. From what I've seen CeCi was almost entirely organic.
I knew Dolly's first body was pretty much mechanical since she didn't need food, but her new body kind of does... yet she's the most advanced model.
But do these other less-advanced droids NEED food at all?
From memory and as I understand it, I think you are pretty much correct; it has been stated that the Nova Roma androids don't really conform to the New Troy standards. The Cassians have been said to be akin to a late model 3, possibly early 4, but have many varied modifications and specializations.
As to the need for food intake, again I think you have it right; the more biological components one has, the more intake would be needed to supplement other power needs, and provide sustenance to the biological aspects. I'm not at all sure whether the earliest ones require food intake.
It has been left a little nebulous, I think, to allow for some room in storytelling, but not detrimentally so. Additionally, I could be very wrong. :D
*edit* I wanted to add, that this (and, to an extent, Luna Star) is one of very few stories I know of, that contain elements of the developmental aspects of androids, without that being the main theme. Almost everywhere else, androids are pretty much already fully developed. It's an interesting aspect, that adds something to the tale.
She's in pretty good shape, all things considered. Better shape than TeeDee and other Androids who've blown up. Good thing too, since I'm not sure any of the Cassians would trust our friendly Technopath to bring than back from the brink.
How about freedom of an entire life of not looking over your shoulder wondering if somebody is going to find this chassis. And if they were to report you to the Nova Roma Pricepts whom we directly serve?
On the plus side in addition to some kind of reward you may pick up a contract for my rehabilitation. All of this would be voided by preventing my expedient report.
"What do we get?", seems a perfectly logical question at this point. Ophelia was unable to respond coherently that she is a Cassian, so while Jordan and Ivy have probably heard of Cassians, (operating around Nova Roma it's likely) they may or may not know who they are, and are probably yet unaware that Ophelia is one. There is potential for a wee misunderstanding. :D
For now, Ophelia is kind of at their mercy, since she's not really able to do much at the moment.
While I have to concede that this guy's shoulder looks rather girly, I don't know what gives you the strange idea that all characters use female models...
In the 90's, there are not many skillful pixel artist, so too many characters look male-like. For example, Baldur's Gate's female characters have too wide shoulders. When artist does not fully study anatomy and proportions, they will get the art wrong. However, many take the lazy route and draws one gender model and modify it to the other gender.
Yes, in some art assets, most 3D female models started as modified 3D male models. However, when sufficient modifications are made, those models are reclassified as such "3D female models" instead of "modified 3D male models". In other art assets, it started the other way around. All models starts as 3D female models, and the male models are modified from them. However, if insufficient skills are used, then they look like "modified 3D female models" instead of "3D male models".
Given how "By Staff and Sword" was an earlier work, I will say that it is visible that the models are 3D female models. The 3D male models still has minor flaws that takes skills to find them. The more this comic series evolves, the less those flaws will be visible.
Basically, the 3D male models from these comics started as modified 3D female models, and still has minor flaws, but those flaws are getting less and less indicating that their skills have improved by a large factor.
I think it is the "bishounen" mentality that keeps these flaws present. There are many bishounen in these comics.
I don't know what you're saying exactly; I have had no trouble distinguishing the male from the female characters. I admit to some confusion from what you're saying, because I don't see how characters from Baldur's Gate apply here. Centcomm uses DAZ studio which has models for both male and female characters. No need to make one from the other.
By Staff and Sword: The shoulder and hips are proper, but they still have breast. Those are hidden with good angle and remove shading.
Luna Star: The pecs are too round for some character. Looks like gynecomastia.
Data Chaster: The models are completely male.
In other words: If we take it as if it is "chronologically", the Male Models are converted from Female Models, and it was until Data Chaster that the Models are clearly separated.
i use Victoria and Micheal they are totally separate meshes the only "unimesh " figure i use is Luna star, and thats for Galina. the rest are all male AND female. sorry to burst yer bubble there tex. Not a no prize! but thanks!
A/NAlt Text says, not quite as bad as I might have expected, so there's that. :/Still, though, poor Ophelia :( She does need some help here.
If her new 'friends' can keep from being too greedy . . .
@Glendale, it sure would be interesting!

how does that work? o.o
i hope they give her a new body.
There are a number of models, and as they have been refined, they migrate away from electromechanical, toward synthetic biological.
I knew Dolly's first body was pretty much mechanical since she didn't need food, but her new body kind of does... yet she's the most advanced model.

"If you, in fact, had any flesh. I think it would be a tad more serious than that, though."
"Well then, how serious is it?"
"Are you familiar with the party game called 'Twister'?"
"I am aware of it, yes."
"Now imagine you were playing it with a Murderturd."
"That bad, huh?"
"Worse."
That's one of the reasons why a bunch of our friends now have white flannel pajamas with large colorful polka-dots.
Makes the game more fun in other ways too. :-)
“Replace twister board with polka dotted flannel pajamas...”

Skillful eyes could still see that the models are modified for male characters, but they're not made of 3D male models.
and if you go to DAZ,, they DON'T use modded male models ...
Sorry, my comment was about the entire comic in general, not this particular page.
It is the "pectoral muscle" shape that gives this point of view. The pecs are a bit too rounded to be pecs.

Maybe what I'm saying is only relevant to "By Staff and Sword" staffandsword.thecomicseries.com
what Megados said is what i was trying to say ,,, but words fail me.!!
Luna Star: Some of the male characters' pecs are a bit too round, so it is questionable.
Datachaser: 3D Male Models.
