Hopefully, Feelie's rematch will...

I'm sorry, but Feelie is a terrible nickname to have when she has that sort of chassis.
Oberoten 25th Sep 2018, 9:16 PM edit delete reply

Dear mother of god... Also, my dearly beloved crowd, what mods would you guys EXPECT to find on that list? And why hasn't she checked the list before (de nile, not just a river in egypt?)
Oberoten 26th Sep 2018, 3:52 AM edit delete reply

Cuddly Kitty -- Non Lewd, just cuddly.
Adwanced Swearing -- Added By Tokyo Rose
Photo Session III -- Posing and light setting knowledge.
Sashay Mod IX -- Non disableable.
megados 25th Sep 2018, 9:18 PM edit delete reply

Not an electric sheep - check.

What is it, and what's it carrying? Power source perhaps? It looks like it's got shields. (Nice design and FX! Also Ophelia's perspective is cool along with the 'failing' view)

Also an interesting thing to me, is the thought that Ophelia fell asleep due to a Commander Pauline mod. That's gotta be unnerving, along with the replay as a dream. *edit: As I look at it again, it's more of a daydream; as the alt-text mentions, a replay? That could mean Astraea is just messing with her again, as far as mods go.
Oldarmourer 26th Sep 2018, 1:48 AM edit delete reply
whatever it is, in the next panel it seems to be turning into, blocked by or emitting smoke ? or is the distortion just that bad for poor Feelie ?
robnot 26th Sep 2018, 6:58 AM edit delete reply
Feelie is powering down,,, so distortion as systems go off line..
an like megados ,, WTF is it carrying.!! it can any of a thousand things,, bit i don't think it's yesterdays laundry...
Eli Cosmanis 26th Sep 2018, 2:53 AM edit delete reply

Lusty Bunny? Maybe it creates a fondness for carrots.
Sheela 26th Sep 2018, 8:48 AM edit delete reply

uh-huh .. big long hard .. carrots.
Just_IDD 26th Sep 2018, 4:16 AM edit delete reply
Astraea seems extremely well aware of all of the options of this chassis. Cassian's didn't strike me as and always on the infosphere type of people but I guess they are.

It didnt seem that info-tap implants are that common. Direct hookup seems to be the preferred method versus wireless connection which frankly is a good thing because wireless security sucks.
robnot 26th Sep 2018, 7:07 AM edit delete reply
Astraea is a scout/sniper. one of the things bout sniping, is know you target.. IE, all the little quirks , (after entering a door way , target takes a small step to left..)
so,, im guessing wen she was researching a target (online) she came across the "movie quote" game,, an been on that ever since..
Sheela 26th Sep 2018, 8:53 AM edit delete reply

As I understood it, the Cassians have multiple networks available.
- A normal standard wi-fi like everyone else.
- A military virtual network, separated from the normal wi-fi with high security protocols, but using the same hardware.
- The Cassian network, which is completely independent from everything else, software *and* hardware, but requires a separate cell cast network.
Bullwinkle 26th Sep 2018, 4:38 AM edit delete reply
It looks like it was sent to retrieve something and her crew got in the way. Also I think that was Ophelia's sensors going offline.
megados 26th Sep 2018, 6:51 AM edit delete reply

Retrieving something is an intriguing possibility. The gutters had or stole something they shouldn't have?
Sheela 26th Sep 2018, 8:56 AM edit delete reply

Alternatively, it was something it already had on it's person, and something it has to protect - And it swatted the gutters when they tried to take it from it.
knuut 26th Sep 2018, 6:37 AM edit delete reply
Shades of the 1951 'Day the Earth Stood Still'
megados 26th Sep 2018, 6:45 AM edit delete reply

Ophelia should have tried "Klaatu barada nikto" :D
knuut 26th Sep 2018, 9:49 AM edit delete reply
I don't think Gort would buy that coming from a Cassian.
megados 26th Sep 2018, 10:56 AM edit delete reply

Maybe not; he did accept it from an 'earthling' though.
robnot 26th Sep 2018, 7:11 AM edit delete reply
ALSO: that yellow distortions in panel 2,, looks like wording,, was it trying to communicate..???
Ganurath 26th Sep 2018, 8:22 AM edit delete reply
More likely that's just the commentary about having killed an android being distorted by the damaged memory data.
Sheela 26th Sep 2018, 8:57 AM edit delete reply

Could also be the sound from it's weapon ?
robnot 27th Sep 2018, 8:06 PM edit delete reply
@Sheela: it's not firing,, and the bubbles have , dots above an below,, like some words do.. then they have the pattern breaks like sentence structure..
robnot 28th Sep 2018, 6:41 AM edit delete reply
@Ganurath@ you are correct,, mostly ,, Neutralized not killed..
dived bak to 1584, Neutralized: an the bubbles match up...
Ictuan 26th Sep 2018, 1:35 PM edit delete reply
Who wants to take on the task of undoing the distortions of that text?
Tokyo Rose 1st Oct 2018, 5:26 PM edit delete reply

Ganurath hit the nail on the head.
Sheela 2nd Oct 2018, 2:05 AM edit delete reply

What is it with sci-fi robots and vocalizing out loud every darn thing that they do ?
"killed an android" .. "walked down the stairs" .. "opened the door" .. "took a dump"

I mean, geeze, it's almost like they have become small children with no "indoor voice" !
megados 2nd Oct 2018, 4:50 AM edit delete reply

Is it a robot? It's speech font doesn't follow the DC convention for a robot. Hmm, maybe one of those battle-bot hybrids with a messed up synth brain gone rogue, or 'doin' somfin'?
Sheela 26th Sep 2018, 8:59 AM edit delete reply

Man, that bot was very shiny … maybe Luna manufacture?
Romfire 26th Sep 2018, 7:14 PM edit delete reply
It looks a little like the Destroyer form Marvel. Maybe Odin got pissed about something.
Combat Medic Z 26th Sep 2018, 6:53 PM edit delete reply

Ha ha, Astraea wasn't joking. I think I would like to explore the "lusty bunny" mod with Ophelia, but Ophelia would certainly want to kill me.
HiFranc 26th Sep 2018, 7:38 PM edit delete reply

A first contact situation?
Siren 27th Sep 2018, 1:09 AM edit delete reply
Damn that forcefield came out nice.

...poor Ophie...

I hope she will not continue to have flashbacks...

...that body really is something else...

I have to wonder about the interaction between "Behavioral Mods" and Free Will. It seems like a fairly serious question.

Then again, I think a very large number of people would absolutely go for some kind of medical procedure that gives them enhanced enjoyment of sex, without minding a bit that it had the perfectly reasonable side effect of motivating them to seek it out more frequently, and it's a lot easier to think of that "Mod" as a potentially desirable option for a fair number of people.

The main problem with it, as far as I can see, is that "Commander Pauline" is such a readily identifiable character, and if the mod is known to be characteristic to that chassis, it'll attract assholes who assume far too much about whether that motivation to seek out sex can or should include sex with themselves.

'Cause sex can be a lot of fun, but not sex with assholes.
DLKmusic 28th Sep 2018, 8:52 PM edit delete reply

I'm sort of assuming that the "Free Will" aspect of mods like that would be that the android would have the option to enable or disable these mods at will. of course this IS one of those questions that could spark a global discourse!
Centcomm 29th Sep 2018, 6:34 AM edit delete reply

this might be why it was on the junk pile
Rashala 28th Sep 2018, 12:13 AM edit delete reply

Its just one thing after another for her. I pity the first person to cross her path after she transfers bodies who ticks her off.....will not be enough left of them for even a microsopic trace analysis.
Bullwinkle 28th Sep 2018, 7:47 AM edit delete reply
The commander Pauline is a mass produced model of non sparked androids. If they were sparked it would violate New Troys laws regarding android slavery.
Centcomm 30th Sep 2018, 7:49 PM edit delete reply

the thing is the modes can only act if the andriod allows them to .. but they were found to be degrading.
KarToon12 29th Sep 2018, 3:05 PM edit delete reply

Nice work on the effects of her vision glitching out. For a second, I thought the website froze or that something was wrong with my screen.
Centcomm 30th Sep 2018, 7:44 PM edit delete reply

hahah excellent the effects on those two panels took most of the day
