please remember your poor artist this december! so if you have extra feel free to drop a few coins in! ( it helps pay for things like bills and kitty food and Artist food.
I think the purses in this case are large enuff to make a dent in the surroundings, but I ken what you mean!!
My weakness is 2nd hand bookshops. My mother in law jokes about wonky steering in vicinity of same!
I'm afraid my weakness is "Guitar Center". Musicians refer to it as GAS... "Gear Acquisition Syndrome".
Thats where you walk in looking for a couple of sets of strings and a bag of guitar picks, and walk out with another $500 guitar. I HAVE SIX GUITARS, I DON'T NEED 7!!!!
Hey DLK, two of my sons are teaching themselves how to play guitar. One plays trumpet already and has made first chair in the Regional UIL Band 2 years in a row and made second chair the year before that. The other plays the Euphonium and the Tuba. He made third chair in UIL this year.
Do you have any suggestions for instruction books that I can get them?
I forget the name of the books that I started with, but the author was Chet Atkins. There's also a series of books by Tommy Todesco that are very good. Important to note though is both of these recommendations use notation, not tablature.
One bit of advice that I would absolutely give is that since they already read music, make sure that whichever course or books you get emphasize reading music. I also personally recommend having material around for sight-reading (not just for the guitar, btw, but for their horns as well). I personally use the "MicroKosmos" by Bela Bartok for that.
Got to see him play live in this little one-horse town, in a hundred+ year old theater with amazing acoustics. Sat in the balcony overhanging the lower seats, so close you could almost shake his hand...fantastic show, if you ever get the chance, take it, never thought I'd see him outside of major cities but he's been here twice.
That's the same as me walking in to get some drum sticks and I walk out with a full set of hydraulic skins for a 12 piece Ludwig w/double basses and an 18" Wuhan China type cymbal.
@stormbringer77: I'm telling you, Guitar Center is Evil!!! They Train their staff to be EVIL!!!! They're taught to greet us with sales lines that we fall for EVERY TIME!
Lines like: "Welcome to Guitar Center" or "Good to see you again, Don!"
Why do I get the feeling that Noctis is going to end up playing the game with live ammo and real swords ? Ah the wonderment of suspending reality for a moment...realistically ;)
I can hear her now...
"this is a FUN game, oh look, I'm getting the high score"
TeeDee and Noctis need to have a contest involving the artistic deconstruction of a room full of CentComm dolls and Decimus dummies.
They'd probably both try to expense the doomed hardware as both training and therapy related expenditures.
And, one of the dolls would end up wearing a Decimus face, and would be returned to its doll related duties, after a bit of hacking by the Taylors and Doc Silver forced CentComm's facial recognition to see it as a standard CentComm doll.
Great job, you made a high-tech, super futuristic parking garage look like a...parking garage, with grey concrete and dim lighting. Now THAT's talent at work, bravo !
With that look, I fully expect them to be accosted by some random wino or petty thug(s) with the expected results and a very happy Noctis being both proven right and getting some exercise at the same time.
I don't think I understand what you mean by date weirdness. The only thing I can think of to fill the gap in my understanding, is something like: reported date/time stamp and system date/time stamp do not agree.
Well, there are other kinds of 'date weirdness', but they don't apply here. :D
I wonder do the celebrate Christmas in new troy? If so wonder what a Taylor & guest Christmas would look like this year. I bet the cassian would be scanning any gifts under the tree for......danger...and coal maybe
Noctis is entirely too subtle to "crack" jokes; instead, she de-shells them with surgical precision, and leaves them for someone to bump into and knock open.
Noctis appreciates that, given the nature of the Universe in which we live, you don't need to manufacture jokes. A suitably wry and accurate observation about the nature of things as they are serves quite nicely.
I hope they did not jinx it... =S

harumph....
The annual budgets for New Troy and New Rome are about to be decimated.

At any rate, thanks :)
Wonders will never cease. :D
Noctis is quite the character, isn't she?
