I've f***ed up my life enough times and really don't want to any more.

She has a point, yes, but . . .

My motto and lifetime practice...

So, I was wondering about other possible churches that might compete with the Church of the First Circuit to offer a path to enlightenment for androids. What about a church that preaches the virtues of forgetfulness and oblivion? By leaving behind all of one's past sins and memories one can face life free of guilt or doubt. The Church of the Reformatted would offer services (for a fee) allowing members to purge their memories of unpleasantness, leaving behind only a blissful, idyllic, Lotus-Eater-like record of experience. Or, for the most extreme adherents, an empty slate. A blank disk prepared for the Almighty to write upon with the coming days experience. The church would teach that where there are no memories, there are no worries. Or, in other words, Lacuna Matata. ^_^

Apropos of absolutely nothing, the First Circuit was lightning. ;)

LAcuna matata?
I'm sure Timon and Pumba sang HAkuna mamata.
Or is there a joke I failed to recognise?
Gilrandir 8th Sep 2021, 4:04 PM edit delete reply
That was the joke. The song lyrics are, in fact, "Hakuna Matata". A "lacuna" is a void or a gap, and happens to rhyme with "Hakuna", so I thought "Lacuna Matata", in the context described, would be amusing.
Oldarmourer 8th Sep 2021, 6:07 PM edit delete reply
well, I thought it was funny, and an even longer stretch than I go to for a joke...most times
DLKmusic 9th Sep 2021, 3:33 PM edit delete reply

So... LAcuna means "gap" or "void"? is that a knock against us Southern Californians? (grin)
Gilrandir 9th Sep 2021, 6:04 PM edit delete reply
Not al all, @DLKmusic. SoCal is a fine place to soak up some culture and some rays. Especially if you get out of the city and maybe spend some time in Lacuna Beach. (Laguna Beach) ^_^. You can always get in a little shopping at the Gap.
DLKmusic 9th Sep 2021, 11:09 PM edit delete reply

I'm reading this about 5 hours after you wrote it, and Ironically "Lacuna Beach" (about 10 miles from me) is enjoying the most delightful thunderstorm, about 2 months earlier than normal...
Gilrandir 9th Sep 2021, 11:53 PM edit delete reply
Did you say “ion-ically”? ^_^
DLKmusic 10th Sep 2021, 12:33 AM edit delete reply

LOL, that too! I'm sure the locals are getting a charge out of the storm!
TheSkulker 10th Sep 2021, 7:49 AM edit delete reply

Interesting. I'm 30 miles north of "Lacuna" and all we got was lightning and thunder - about four months earlier than the new "normal".
megados 10th Sep 2021, 7:05 AM edit delete reply

The Kahuna of Lacuna
DLKmusic 11th Sep 2021, 3:17 PM edit delete reply

yeah... The Kahuna's of Laguna have their pissing contests too... only it's usually about their credit limit.
And God forbid you look crosseyed at the Mercedes with the bumper sticker that says "My other car is a Lamborghini", because the bumper sticker is probably telling the truth.
Welcome to the wonderful land of Lacuna Bleach

I have to admit, I didn't realize it either. Thank you Dianna!

Loved the last 'Omake' one you two did, maybe another such mini-story can be in the offing ?

Returning to this comic after a long time away, and I'm delighted that it's continued.

My comment on this particular one is that you may have discovered the philosophy of someone close to me...what they think is endless bad luck is in fact consistent bad decision-making.
