"If you ever fall into someone's power, pray that they are evil."
"What?"
"A good man will simply kill you. You die. But an evil man? He will want you to suffer. He will want you experience how powerless you are. He will want to savor him power over you. He will want to tell you about his power. That that is your chance. Your chance to escape, to live."
Man, this doesn't look good. Maybe this ship coming in isn't as bad as our bandit-guy here is. I reeaally hope this ship coming in isn't as bad as our bandit-guy here is, because he really needs to have the table flipped on him.
Great job building tension on this page! Nice job, Ladies!
Alive and up to my ears in work. I have not forgotten, but my time is tight. We still have more then 800 pages to edit and post. No worries on material, thank goodness!
It's feasible. Micro-grav would oppose mass attraction, so just turn it up. The thing you wanna ask is whether it's directional granularity allows it to be turned up in the front, without turning it up on the bottom! ;)
Tune in next week when we find out that "Gae-sae-ggi mi-chyeoss-da" is Belter for "Ship defense grid, target the armed man in front of me"
and "Ta-ma-de" means "ready...aim..."
I recognize both phrases as things I've heard Mandarin speakers say. I never asked what they mean and don't know for sure, but I'm fairly certain ta-ma-de is a general phrase that gets used when something distressing, crazy, and/or outrageously unlikely is discovered.
Contextually it seems interchangeable with "what the fuck?!" or similar.
Using it as a code phrase for your ship weapons would be highly appropriate, provided you aren't someone who might say it by accident.
Deal with threats until they're no longer threats, half-dealt with threats try to kill you faster because now it's personal.
Unfired rounds are nice to have but not much good when they're lying beside your body.
As pilots say, three things are useless to you in aerial emergencies:
Altitude above you, runway behind you and gas in the fuel truck.
Its an acronym: Guns Active Emergency-Shields Active Emergency-Guns Go Independent Missiles Independent-Chose How You Explode Obnoxious Stupid Shit-Destroy Asshole

That's what happens when you let Tokyo Rose program the Emergency Weapons Systems
And a brain the size of a walnut. What is he doing, gloating about letting her die without her grav-suit? So, her options are, he kills her cleanly, and he has to remove her suit himself OR, she does what he wants and dies slowly and horribly, and he doesn't have to do shit. What kind of threat could he possibly use on her that she wouldn't immediately take him up on? "Take off your suit, or I'll shoot you in the head!" "Um, fine, go ahead, I ain't takin' it off."
For the criminal mind, it's usually about controlling someone, it's not that a victim does something it's that they made them do it.
The same goes for most politicians and managers, there's a very high sociopathic score for those groups.

Keep him talking, lady...
Do it for all the people they'd otherwise hurt between then and now.
.. and their shoes .. and their guns.
...and how far away Marcus is...

He could be in a table _flippin_ sandwich ! 😁
I'm sure Marcus would oblige, if nothing else to make the rapport to Centcomm more lively.

A: "probably not"
"He who commits his reserve first, loses."
Maybe an extra round for insurance is okay, but it's good to have an unfired round in the gun, also for insurance.
