I understand too toxic to walk on, but is it too toxic to land on? Radioactive contamination or acids eating the ship?

Re: Filtering toxic air and space ships. Thanks for clearing that up. I was also a bit confused.

However, if their vehicles all run on fusion power plants, then they probably have the spare energy to perpetually recycle the air via a regenerative CO2 removal system. Instead of a fixed-life CO2 scrubber filter, it uses a "sorbent material" which is regenerated by heating to 400 °F. I suspect a craft like that generates at least 400 °F of waste heat.

Anyway, this is over 1800 years in the future and anti-grav tech is commonplace. They probably managed to miniaturize CO2 scrubbing tech a bit.

The dangerous dust storms is a really nice touch. Aside from the value as a plot device, it's quite believable. With nearly all vegitation wiped, nothing remains to hold the soil in place. And no trees to dampen the winds. It's like the great Dust Bowl of the 1930's - on steroids, with radioactive and toxic fallout.

Let's just hope "Find miss Lynn" and "Hug Lynn and explode" never have anything whatsoever even remotely to do with each other.
