Tokyo Rose
Trivia: Cent asked me what the big monster thing ought to be named, and suggested the grand title of "scythe lizard". I took one look at it, and in my head, I could just hear some wastelander saying "Don't go near those ruins, they're chock full of murder-turds."
Medical note: If you ever glance in the bowl and see anything that bears more than a slight resemblance to this monster, please review your fiber intake IMMEDIATELY.

And I thought NY had a rat problem NOW....
Centcomm 9th Aug 2012, 4:38 AM edit delete reply

NY .. or rather whats left of it .. hs a lot more problems than giant rats. *winks*

Love the wasteland critters. The sabretoothed rat is entirely plausible, given rats' adaptability and fast breeding qualities. Your version reminds me of Dougal Dixon's "predator rats" in his future natural history After Man.

And the "Murder-Turd", *skreeK* indeed! Nice work on the graphics of that one; it's nasty just to look at!

I loved that book. Used to read it every night aged 7-10ish. (I might be oversharing a bit.)

That's one intact skeleton! I'd have thought it would have been broken up for the sweet, sweet marrow within.
Centcomm 9th Aug 2012, 1:20 PM edit delete reply

yeah I should have broken it up more ... Oops
Rashala 9th Aug 2012, 2:51 PM edit delete reply

WHo said it wasn't a RECENT one. I mean middle of a wasteland....no way out caustic dust storms... .perfect palce to dump bodies of folks you do not like.
Centcomm 9th Aug 2012, 2:54 PM edit delete reply

MR BLACK
YEAAAAAAAAH

...and I say life on wastes is so much more pleasant than the cities by the description over there, if you think about it. Everyone is supporting everyone else! Nice community.
Centcomm 9th Aug 2012, 4:35 PM edit delete reply

^_^ yeppers !

really? so the caustic dust and monsters waiting to eat you at every turn and high heat is no biggie? *evil chuckle*
mushroomisland 9th Aug 2012, 4:42 PM edit delete reply

I mean. I wouldn't want to be there. But it's that pristine idea of "Circle of Life" thing.
Centcomm 9th Aug 2012, 4:50 PM edit delete reply

Ahhh I getcha .. looks for simba .. oops I think a murder-turd ate him.. >_< J/K
Rashala 9th Aug 2012, 5:45 PM edit delete reply

I gotta ask something......Does Tokyo Rose Ever do......well. Practical jokes on centcomm? Nothing overly maliscious but just kinda annoying and distracting so she can do stuff unopposed?

*if so I have a suggestion for one for her *Evil grin**

I've browsed through a lot of your archive and have been very impressed. This page though, is insane. I really can't think of anything better to say. The awesomeness of this page is INSANE. How many days did it take to build all this?
Centcomm 10th Aug 2012, 5:16 PM edit delete reply

thank you very much -
umm lets see - truck, "murder-turd", rat, ruins .. mostly arranging ( alot of this is prefabs ) lights proably 6 to 8 hours ?
cattservant 12th Aug 2012, 8:55 PM edit delete reply

Seems like there must be some balance point where ground transportation is more practical and economical* than air transport.

*(Given the condition of the infrastructure and the charming wildlife.) Two points of interest: One and Two.
Centcomm 12th Aug 2012, 9:35 PM edit delete reply

there are some products that cant handle air travel , also a lot of wasteland companys that cant afford grav vehicles or aircraft and rely on ground transports and private individuals ..

Oldarmourer 14th Jun 2019, 6:46 AM edit delete reply
just occurred to me...

dust storms, endless wastelands, small outposts and huge trucks barrelling along empty roads, everything trying to kill you...

Earth just flipped it's poles as part of the 'apocalypse' and North America is now Australia, isn't it ?
