"This never happened"...
I think I just heard someone say something very like that just recently.
Centcomm 30th Oct 2012, 9:20 PM edit delete reply

hee! it happens a lot ...
cattservant 30th Oct 2012, 9:42 PM edit delete reply

You know, you're right!
I was thinking about this.
But, there is this too.
Centcomm 30th Oct 2012, 9:48 PM edit delete reply

Like I said.. happens a lot >_<

Oh, please mind the links are pointing to the wrong pages since the update of the earlier pages
cattservant 13th Jul 2013, 11:48 AM edit delete reply

Oh my! You're right. No good deed goes unpunished, as usual. And I don't remember the reference now!

Edit: I think it was this one.
Centcomm 13th Jul 2013, 11:59 AM edit delete reply

sorry about that >_< I wish I had the ability to alter the links. but I cant alter any posts but my own..
GntlTch 3rd Dec 2015, 10:30 AM edit delete reply
Although you can't change anybody else's links, how about posting a table/map of old comic pages/links to new and adding a link in the main header to that master table? Not as convenient, of course, as a direct link but at least we could find the referenced page.
Fairportfan 30th Oct 2012, 9:34 PM edit delete reply

"This never happened" ... "We will never speak of this again" ...

Heh.

Put me in mind of this.

For those who don't read Exiern - the blonde used to be a Mighty Barbarian Swordsman named Typhan-Knee. Then he ran up against a wizard while rescuing Princess Peonie (the brunette).

Now Typhan-Knee is Tiffany, and the King has made her Peonie's official bodyguard.

Mister Black 1st Nov 2012, 7:23 PM edit delete reply

I don't find the "forced body swap" idea funny in the slightest, and I find some of the comments in response to it down-right disturbing.

When you ask people (more accurately in my case, Americans, since they're the majority of the people I talk to) "What is the most important right?", the most common answer is some variation of the First Amendment..."Freedom of Speech", or some such. There is *one* right, though, that's more important, more basic, than any of the rights laid down / guaranteed / protected by the Bill of Rights, the Magna Carta, or the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It's so basic and fundamental that nobody has ever even bothered to codify it...it's simply been assumed. That right is the right to freedom of person. The right to have my own body. I'm not talking about the right to life (negotiable at best, just ask Bonnie and Clyde, or the people in WTC1), the right to liberty (ask any prison inmate about that). I'm talking about the right to be secure in my "self"....We've just established that, at least in New Troy, that right doesn't exist. As Cent-Comm decrees, so mote it be. If The State needs you to be a woman, that's tough crap, Mister Jones, learn to read the soprano notes. If the State needs you to be a disembodied brain in a jar, well, bubbles for you. There is no security of person or being in this place.

Personally, given what this exchange reveals about Cent-Comm, forget straightening out Nova Roma. Let's start closer to home, New Troy is a far more oppressive place.
cattservant 30th Oct 2012, 11:01 PM edit delete reply

Get her a bucket of 'New Troy Applied Lady-Parts' when she gets back!
Tokyo Rose 1st Nov 2012, 3:09 PM edit delete reply

I honestly have to wonder why so many people seem to think it would be Grade-A Hilarious to put Teedee into a body with "functional" lady-parts. It's not the least bit funny to FORCE someone to present themselves as a sex object, which is exactly how Teedee views it.

Imagine the reaction of, say, Acantha if she were given no choice but to walk around publicly in Frederick's of Hollywood lingerie 24/7. Adding an "option" of working lady-parts to Teedee would be the equivalent of further forcing Acantha to wear crotchless panties and an open-bust bra in public.

Teedee feels demeaned, humiliated, and violated already. It wouldn't be a funny joke to make the situation worse. Writing for her right now is both easy and uncomfortable. Putting together a string of furious expletives is easy. Actually putting myself into her frame of mind and making myself feel the same way she does is very, very uncomfortable.
Centcomm 1st Nov 2012, 3:15 PM edit delete reply

Theres a reasons Bio-upgrades are carefully monitored and choached on what to expect. and why they arent done "randomly" Teedees body was carefully picked in order to aviod giving her "functional bits" she is also angry she was never given a choice in the "side-grade" I can not argue with Roses observation in ANYway .
Tokyo Rose 1st Nov 2012, 3:19 PM edit delete reply

Sorry, got a little too serious there. Back to the humorous bits, which I'm trying to focus on to get around the aforementioned level of discomfort. (Ahahaha "skull made of fuck")
cattservant 1st Nov 2012, 3:24 PM edit delete reply

Perhaps because you are gifted with levels of empathy, sympathy and creativity that most of us 'surface manifestors' don't even consider employing.
Thankfully you are, and not shy about pointing it out too!
Sleel 30th Oct 2012, 10:26 PM edit delete reply

HA! Kidnap bait. So true. I share her problem with names. I forget them almost as fast as I turn around.

mushroomisland 31st Oct 2012, 3:38 PM edit delete reply

lol. TD is just humorous on so many wrong levels XD
Dragonrider 31st Oct 2012, 6:10 PM edit delete reply

I'm sure that Centcomm has some DNA somewhere she uses to make her dolls lifelike, have Calliope make a biological upgrade for TD that is capable of child birth and make her carry a Centcomm clone through a full 9 month cycle including natural child birth. Then have her raise the little darling. That might teach TD not to be so trigger happy.
Centcomm 31st Oct 2012, 6:30 PM edit delete reply

hehe thats funny . actually her dolls are made of a totally synthetic plastic , they are cool to the touch and are totally cosmetic. the mod you are talking about is a 4-H mod that allows a andriod to be a surrogate. the andriod gives no DNA to the child but can carry it ( this mod is almost never used BTW )
cattservant 1st Nov 2012, 3:29 PM edit delete reply

Seems like it would be time consuming and inefficient.
Centcomm 1st Nov 2012, 3:34 PM edit delete reply

VERY the prefered method is a extro-vitro mechanical womb not attached to any one .. far safer and far more efficent.
cattservant 1st Nov 2012, 3:41 PM edit delete reply

No stretch marks...
Centcomm 1st Nov 2012, 3:54 PM edit delete reply

Yup no strech marks and a lot of New Troys population are very image conscious. so having kids "without" having kids is a bonus !
cattservant 1st Nov 2012, 4:18 PM edit delete reply

You could make a case for self-centeredness* being a byproduct of the process too.

*(Maybe 'introversion' is a better description.)
Tokyo Rose 1st Nov 2012, 6:44 PM edit delete reply

If one wanted to be generous, one could point out that pregnancy and birth can be hard on a woman's body as well as on the fetus. Complications range from "inconvenient" through "debilitating" and into "fatal". Then there's the potential defects that can show up during gestation and even during birth. When you have a relatively small population that's constantly in danger of genetic and environmental damage, it's good to have the option of being able to very carefully monitor fetal development with an eye towards catching and correcting problems as they appear, as well as protecting the population's fertile females from the physical demands of pregnancy.
Centcomm 1st Nov 2012, 6:46 PM edit delete reply

you know .. I like yours a lot better than mine :P
Tokyo Rose 1st Nov 2012, 6:49 PM edit delete reply

Mine makes the New Troy population sound slightly more logical and slightly less bubble-headed? ;D
Centcomm 1st Nov 2012, 6:50 PM edit delete reply

That would be the case ..yes .. hangs head.. I think my processors are dirty >_<
cattservant 1st Nov 2012, 7:48 PM edit delete reply

Given the the placement of 'the action' in space, place and historical perspective your argument is indisputable.
Would the 'loss' of human gestational connectivity be considered of any consequence, or even recognized?

"Fuck that. I was officially fucking dead when I shot it, so officially I never fucking shot it." "......" So awesome! TeeDee has been really well captured in these past few pages. So much so that's she seems to be stealing the show.
Centcomm 8th Jan 2013, 8:30 PM edit delete reply

yeah she kinda did :D shes just agressive that way :D
