Just wondering if anyone would be willing to donate to recieve a "revamped and reformatted" version of DC in 30 page installments or less.. IN a PDF format for offline reading..
donations are very helpful to us and I try not to ask - but computers are expesive and so is living. so what do you think guys.. ? )

Is it less work to refurbish an existing page?
Wouldn't want you to deform a gasket or something!
You could call this project;
"Data Chasers,
The Directors Cut!"
Centcomm 8th Dec 2012, 7:44 AM edit delete reply

Actually a lot of the early pages are no longer avalable they were lost in a disk crash. some pages are more or less work than others - id like to create new art for this anyway.. :D

but refubishing old pages isnt really possable..
cattservant 8th Dec 2012, 8:13 AM edit delete reply

Is that the legendary crash Lynn was referring to recently?

However you proceed, please don't harm yourself.

The Cats wish me to extend their encouragement and to let you know their acquisitive instincts are aroused!

I hope they make computers that cool one day! Great page! :D (as usual!)
Centcomm 8th Dec 2012, 10:25 AM edit delete reply

me too ! this is actually a redo of a older page - thank you for the compliment...
Draginbeard 8th Dec 2012, 10:20 AM edit delete reply

I think its worth a shot to try and put your stuff on PDF. If take your stuff to con, you have some great material already for print.
Centcomm 8th Dec 2012, 10:25 AM edit delete reply

well for one we dont have a printer . and according to a VERY good source ( a commercial author ) useing a vanity press is death to any possablity of anyone taking it seriously. dont ask me why. I dont know.. Id like to print a few copys and take them to Dragon-con thats in alabama not far from here. IF I had the cash and IF i had a way to get there -- lots of IFs here the most pressing is upgradeing the system so I can do even more for you guys. Im at a wall in somethings due to memory limits.
and thank you!

Have you looked into the possibility of self-publishing DC as an Amazon Kindle e-book? I've seen some graphic novels in the Kindle store and the latest version of the Kindle app should be able to handle the graphic formats.
Centcomm 8th Dec 2012, 11:04 PM edit delete reply

actually yes.. thats one of the reasons for the reformat. is a e-book. again paper publishing on a vanity press has been touted to be suicide - so going to aviod that for now., however the same isnt said for E-publishing ( again I dont know why - although after doing some research it has to do with possable copywrite issues )

Last I checked, DragonCon was in Atlanta, GA :P
KarToon12 8th Dec 2012, 10:26 AM edit delete reply

Hmm...I like this idea; it'll make the early comic pages easier to read, and it'll match up better with the current way you CG render.
Centcomm 8th Dec 2012, 10:31 AM edit delete reply

I "might" replace a few panels, esp where the text is hard to read. but overall these will be donation rewards. or assembly for print as dagin suggested.

Really diggin' the holograms! Looking great.

I was just lurking about over at Comic Rocket and happened to come across the first pages of DC. By comparison to this page, there is no comparison at all!
What an amazing improvement over time. The clarity and detail of the environments is palpably better and the figures (human and otherwise) are fully flexible and have life like textures. All remnants of rigidity have been rooted out!
All in all, a perfect example of practice propelling proficiency!

Give yourself an educational treat, go back and re-read the Archives!
Centcomm 9th Dec 2012, 12:28 AM edit delete reply

heheh - glad you like them - its a real treat to go back and revisit some of these :D

Hail oh Visual One!
Well met by cathode ray light!

(Just a thought out here on the dark Mountain, but I would proudly wear a
NRGAP-DC tee-shirt right out in public...)
Centcomm 9th Dec 2012, 1:13 AM edit delete reply

I actually looked into t-shirts and mugs and stuff .. you know how much they wanna charge for that stuff! im not rich >_<
but it would cost around 15.00 to 20.00 a mug .. the shirts far more.

There's always a weasel in every conceptual wood pile!
craybest 9th Dec 2012, 8:14 AM edit delete reply

Love the hologram effect, maybe I would have liked if it would emit some more light, but it looks cool!
Centcomm 9th Dec 2012, 12:41 PM edit delete reply

yeah still tricky getting the holos to look the way I want with raytracying i might redo that shot..
cattservant 9th Dec 2012, 9:14 AM edit delete reply

A modest proposal: For a modification to the current vote incentive;

Turn Maxus and Kali about 90 degrees so they are looking at each other.
Put Kali in a tight black with white letters NR-GAP t-shirt.
Have Kali say, "Tell me again about this 'sense of humor' that you speak of."
Have Maxus say, " . . . "
Centcomm 9th Dec 2012, 12:42 PM edit delete reply

hahah I like that..
dpallee 9th Dec 2012, 7:51 PM edit delete reply

Great visuals Cent....worth the effort you gave it!

I think I just had an partial insight into how Nova Roma functions. (?)
The Cassians are an Order of Nuns* under the authority of the the Church of Purity charged with furthering socio-genetic improvement. Some how in the turmoil following the Revolution they became charged with political responsibilities.
(For an 'invisible personage', the Archpriest is positively ubiquitous!)

*(The Sisters of the Short Sharp Shock)
Centcomm 10th Dec 2012, 3:57 AM edit delete reply

well actually the cassians are "wetworks" opertives and secret police. they specialize in keeping things running smoothly by assassination or by other methods. the origins are similar to the CIA and NSA of today. or more accurately the homeland security force they only answer to the prince and a few others. and have no internal rank system.
cattservant 10th Dec 2012, 4:09 AM edit delete reply

Thank You!

(Does sound kind of romantic though...)
Centcomm 10th Dec 2012, 4:13 AM edit delete reply

heh romantic? hows that work?
cattservant 10th Dec 2012, 4:40 AM edit delete reply

All that ancient history
From before the revolution...
Who assembled the first Cassians?
What was their original function.
How did that contribute to the revolt?
How much have they evolved over time?
What were they compelled to do
To survive the android pogroms?
Just how did they end up
With life and death power
Over 20 million people?

On a current note:
How did (complex) Kali rise to authority?

Revolution, violence, politics, intrigue, mystery, hidden agendas, manipulating humans*!
All the elements of a fine Nova Roman style romance!

*(Like herding cats!)
Centcomm 10th Dec 2012, 7:18 AM edit delete reply

heh- thats a tall order there .. and would proably take a bit of confabbing .. :D
Kali's story is rather simple and will be revealed in due course..:D
