Unfortunately can't subscribe more that once. I can vote twice, if the image is safe for work vote at work and at home. Not that I would do anything dishonest like that. Don't want Kali visiting me for sins of commission.
I just realized that Lynn was blazing away with the slug thrower... the more ANTIQUATED weapon. Whereas Acantha is blazing away with the laser/blaster.
Isn't that kind of a reversal of roles... or at least weaponry considering the tech bases of their respective cities? :-D
Well to be fair this was a "test" of sorts to see how I could get decent effects for weapons I was not really paying attention :D they got the first weapons I could find :D
Might be a really late reaction, but I only just discovered this comic today.
As far as the weapon effects are concerned. the muzzle flashes look good on both weapons if you are going for flashy effects. If you are going for realism though; I'd do away with the muzzle flash of the laser pistol, and as for the Uzi Lynn is holding, I'd take the muzzle flash from Acantha's laser pistol, and apply it for the Uzi after a recolor.
As for the posing; Acantha's looks good like a gunslinger type. Lynn's looks more like pissed off 2bit gangster wannabe. I know a fair but about guns, so I can tell that its a fullsized Uzi that Lynn his holding (cant tell Acantha's as the picture doesn't provide enough of a side view to recognize make and model of the 3d model used for it). the uzi has a collapsed stock in it, so it would make sense to use that and grip it like a rifle, your offhand gripping the front right infront of the trigger guard. this will also work better even if you don't use the stock as you can use both hands to fight the recoil. alternatively you'd either put your off hand to cover the hand grip to take a two handed pistol grip.
Putting your off hand on your forearm won't do you any favors. when a gun recoils and rises up, its not your arm that's the cause but your wrists as the muscles in the wrist aren't nearly as strong as those who influence your elbow joints.
the gunslinger pose will work for single shot, light caliber/low recoil applications, not so much for full auto no matter the caliber unless you are going for spray an' pray

Douglas would be proud.
