Personal space...the final frontier in making interpersonal interaction horribly uncomfortable.
Centcomm 14th Jan 2013, 9:35 PM edit delete reply

hehe and Lynn is big on personal space. :D
cattservant 15th Jan 2013, 5:52 PM edit delete reply

The question arises about the borderlands between inter-personal and intra-personal...
Centcomm 15th Jan 2013, 5:52 PM edit delete reply

most New troy citizens respect personal space. its just a social thing.
cattservant 15th Jan 2013, 6:13 PM edit delete reply

The cootie quotient?
Centcomm 15th Jan 2013, 6:17 PM edit delete reply

sure LOL
Draginbeard 14th Jan 2013, 9:31 PM edit delete reply

A. Is a real in-your-face kind of guy.

By how he talks, l keep thinking its not that he is crazy, more like he is pulling words and phrases from old entertainment files and using those to communicate. Almost like building a new structure on the ruins of the old without cleaning up the foundation first.
Centcomm 14th Jan 2013, 9:35 PM edit delete reply

and weeeee have a Winnnnah! :D you rock!
Tokyo Rose 14th Jan 2013, 9:42 PM edit delete reply

Good catch. Back when Tokyo Rose - the in-comic one - was first talking to Kyle, she mentioned Aeneas's tendency towards seeming confusion and non sequitur as a result of his damaged system interlinks . . .
KarToon12 15th Jan 2013, 10:09 AM edit delete reply

So he's basically Wreck-Gar from Transformers? XDXD
Centcomm 15th Jan 2013, 10:23 AM edit delete reply

a bit.. :D
Cyber Sub-Zero 11th Jun 2015, 4:57 PM edit delete reply
Kinda like Bumblebee in Michael Bay's (piece of shit) version of Transformers
Centcomm 11th Jun 2015, 5:14 PM edit delete reply

Actually I liked the new Transformers movies.. they are pretty much what the animated shows could have been .. explosions and a great ad for the toys.
GhostRider 28th Oct 2015, 1:58 PM edit delete reply
I agree after watching the third one (and maturing some) Cyber Sub-Zero was me.

The concept of personal space is one of those cultural things that change with the fashions. A South Sea Islander for example wouldn't have minded. And now she'll take a trip and find out whether the concept is really worth while.
cattservant 15th Jan 2013, 3:06 AM edit delete reply

KarToon12 15th Jan 2013, 10:10 AM edit delete reply

Something tells me he knows alot more about Lynn than even she knows. Also, I love the "space, final, personal space" line. XDXD
Centcomm 15th Jan 2013, 10:24 AM edit delete reply

you might be right. hehe im glad people caught that. Rose is keeping track of all the call outs and shout outs in his lines and will be posted later :D
EdInFresno 15th Jan 2013, 12:50 PM edit delete reply

I'm really getting into this. Also, I'm reminded of bits and pieces of Babylon 5. (I loved that show and I was really bummed when it was cancelled.) Awesome stuff! Keep it coming!
Centcomm 15th Jan 2013, 5:54 PM edit delete reply

your welcome, and I plan too!
Rashala 15th Jan 2013, 2:18 PM edit delete reply

Yep I think Centy's little DNA secret is out o the bag :)
cattservant 15th Jan 2013, 5:10 PM edit delete reply

Most bags are rather transparent to AI level intelligences.
And Lynn will be the last to know, and even then (thankfully for her peace of mind) she won't grasp all of the more sinister aspects of the situation.
Centcomm 15th Jan 2013, 5:55 PM edit delete reply

hehe this isnt really a big secret to the A.I.s but will he say anything?
Dragonrider 15th Jan 2013, 5:25 PM edit delete reply

I liked this mornings version better with Lynn stepping on her shoe causing the fall. Now please tell me with her upcoming fall from grace she does not activate something that should not be activated. I do think this might be the straw that breaks her composure.
Centcomm 15th Jan 2013, 5:56 PM edit delete reply

O-o actually it is her shoe.. shes trying to back up and got her legs crossed.
EdInFresno 15th Jan 2013, 7:41 PM edit delete reply

Something occurs to me... Maybe it's just nit picking but they all seem to be wearing contemporary clothing (or a slight variation thereof) Considering which millennia in which this takes place wouldn't it be considered the equivalent of all of us, in the 21st century, going about in medieval clothing or its equivalent? Just sayin'.
Centcomm 15th Jan 2013, 7:59 PM edit delete reply

I have a few friends in the fashion circles and one of them said "fashion is cyclic" whats old becomes new and really how many ways to make jeans its a common very functional design same with t-shirts and all other things sure you will see some "future-istic" deisigns here and there but mostly the clothing will be recognizable from now till forever - its a choice. :D somethings just never go out of style ! :) thanks though gave me a chance to say that.
velvetsanity 26th Mar 2013, 8:32 AM edit delete reply

As a prime example, "jeans and t-shirt" will forever be stylish...with that style, what changes is the details (ripped/faded/cutoff/etc, and so on).
Centcomm 26th Mar 2013, 12:33 PM edit delete reply

yep thats what we decided - certain styles will never die out :D
antrik 7th Oct 2016, 9:09 PM edit delete reply
That's true over the span on decades, but not centuries. Materials change, manufacturing methods change, needs change. We aren't wearing breeches and corsets today, because there are more comfortable and convenient options available -- and no doubt the same will happen to today's apparel designs centuries from now.

I always found the anachronistic fashion choices felt a bit weird; and assumed they were for practical considerations (availability of pre-made models) -- along with other anachronistic objects -- rather than a deliberate decision...
Speedy Marsh 3rd Nov 2016, 8:12 AM edit delete reply
Maybe they still get clothes from sweatshops in third world countries that weren't wiped out in the apocalypse. Without a huge fashion industry sending them new designs, they probably kept cranking out the old styles.
velvetsanity 17th May 2017, 9:47 AM edit delete reply

They actually have to work a *lot* harder to find the clothes they're using than if they just stuck all the characters in plastic-looking "futuristic" slutwear (which is what the vast majority of available premade clothing models are).
Speedy Marsh 3rd Nov 2016, 8:05 AM edit delete reply
A huge percentage of the media they have is probably pre-apocalypse. Maybe Netflix and Hulu's collections of videos survived? Also, they probably found a bunch of old paper sewing patterns.

I imagine people then like what they see of our time, and dressing like us helps them feel like the world is starting to recover and is becoming a "happy" place again.
mushroomisland 18th Jan 2013, 2:16 PM edit delete reply

lol. it's like he's got a new shiny thing and like "ooooh"
Melody 11th May 2014, 1:19 AM edit delete reply
...This is unrelated to the comic, which is fracking amazing, btw, but...

Are the titles of some of these, like the "Roman Numeral The insert thing here" ones a reference to either

The Tarot Cards, The Empoerer, The Fool, etc.

Or the Yu-Gi-Oh Archetype "Arcana Force" monsters, based off of them?
Centcomm 11th May 2014, 9:11 AM edit delete reply

It refers to the Tarot not any collectable card game :D
Grault 24th Oct 2015, 12:05 AM edit delete reply

Ahaha... If he had worn a Guy Fawkes mask at the beginning, Lynn would have found her way out.
