It is Fuji-san. I cheated a bit; the background is a photo of modern Tokyo looking towards Fuji I found online I thought was really cool-looking and would work for what Shinedo could look like considering it's built on the ashes of Tokyo.
At least they didnt stash it in the utility drawer...imagine pulling that sucker out during a black out thinking you have a flashlight....and the power suddenly comes back on as you are trying to figure out the switching.... oh wait, that already happened to Steve Martin.
I'll have to do a close-up of Yugasa for a "random" art Sunday then. She's an aerial recon bot built to look like a phoenix from Chinese legends (such as Suzaku, the guardian spirit of the South in Japanese legend).
[Dare we ask for another of these excellent tales?]
I actually have two shoji screens like the one in panel three in my living room.
In the last panel, it wasn't me.
There's even a law about it! (laws of anime :D )

And the ending.....XDXDXD
Can't wait for your story to resume, though this was fun! :D
Also, we didn't get a good look of that red bird/mini-dragon/bot...
