Gold level is what Calli and Dolly currently enjoy its pretty much a VIP status. Silver is below that, followed by High Citizen then Citizen. then thats it.
You should have done it like the fantasy game metals, CentComm: Adamantium, Mithril, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Copper... and then not worth talking about. :-D
Hmmm burn before reading and commit suicide after reading the ashes. Question, message to Calliope, Her care givers, or Centcomm. If the first or second a watch your back around Centcomm, if the last, eight words, F you, I quit watch your back bitch.
Actually, Dragonrider, consider this: if either CentComm or Rose planted the bug, odds are that they had intel that Dari was in Joleet, but Dolly was in such a hurry to get moving, this was the most efficient way to arrange the meeting.
Odds are also in favor of the informant having appeared on camera. (applying gamer logic here, important NPCs like that *always* get detailed out just in case, and tend to at least get a cameo appearance, even if the PCs - Dolly and Ceci in this case - aren't aware of it. If they've appeared it's probably either Breaker or Zophia.)
Also, whatever Logrim may be that hasn't been revealed, he is *not* a New Troy operative. He'd have sent a message letting them know the Doc was there and they'd have picked her up before Dolly first woke in her new body. He's most likely either a Lunie or one of Rose's people.
Odds are the shut down was planned so Centcomms team got there first. Bottom line, Lynn doesn't want to follow family trad and be handmaiden to Centcomm, therefore Centcomm wants her where she presents no danger to centcomm, ie dead and cremated. No DNA remains to pose a problem for her plans to rule the world with all humans living in a zoo and all AI's paying homage to her. Unless our intrepid host kicks my ideas out I stand by my message ideas, with strong odds on it being the third message.
If that was CentComms intention, I wouldn't think that her orders would have been "terminate as a last resort." It would have been more like "Terminate at all costs." CentComm strikes me as more pragmatic than murderous. Then again Datachasers tends to keep me guessing so I'm not married to the notion.
Bottom line, Dari (the gutter who deliverd Lynn to Nova Roma) likely has info that will aid the mission. *That* is the most probable reason for arranging the stopover. In which case, my money's on Rose as the culprit.
True that Dari has information that might be useful; however, from the sounds of things CentComm didn't have an ID on Dari when Dolly left.
CeCi got an ID on Dari at Breakers from information they picked up after viewing the air car records from the kidnapping site. Which was AFTER they had left, New Troy. And they haven't even been back inside the transport since finding Dari, so the gizmo shouldn't have transmitted anything prior to Mira silencing it. So I'm not sure how CentComm would KNOW about Dari even now, unless another agent phoned it in.
My thought is that CentComm was just wanting Dolly and CeCi out of harms way. Joleet has enough amenities that they wouldn't likely die there (random Gutter encounters not factored in) from being stranded there for a few days.
I mean CeCi, the transport and cover that Dolly is using were all from CentComm's sandbox. I don't see Rose sticking her nose into it unless it was going to totally screw up her plans. While Rose has shown herself to be an INCREDIBLY effective agent, pulling that off directly against CentComm would indicate a truly scary penetration of New Troy security at the highest level.
Furthermore, I don't see what shutting down Dolly's rescue would gain Rose. She seems to thrive on chaos, so the more balls being juggled, the better from her point of view. :-D
To me that makes it most likely that the delaying tactic had to come from CentComm. She is trying to stop Dolly from getting in the way of HER rescue mission (being run by Marcus). Secondarily CentComm also gets to preserve Dolly whom she was quite interested in. And thirdly she gets to observe Dolly via CeCi's memory to see how Dolly and the new body perform in the field.
I guess we will have to wait and see who gets the message(s) to further refine our guesses. :-)
Mira should take the gold level treatment. To quote a bad movie;
"I want room service! I want the club sandwich, I want the cold Mexican beer, I want a 10,000 a night hooker! I want my shirts laundered, like they do at the imperial hotel...in Tokyo."
"Ok, then, 'just Johnny', let's start with what you're carrying inside that head of yours! And what it means to the world!"
Actually, that's one of my all-time favorite movies, being a long-time fan of cyberpunk. (Particularly Gibson and Stephenson, and especially Shadowrun (note: the xbox 360 game is NOT Shadowrun, despite microsoft's idiotic claims)
Yep, Sheela. One movie where Keanu Reeves' wooden acting actually made sense. :D
Also, Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun Online aren't RPGs (which is what Shadowrun, first and foremost, IS), they're tactics games along the lines of Final Fantasy Tactics, from what I understand.
Never played FF tactics.
But if you're curious, Steam has some gameplay footage up on their store page with two of the devs talking about it as they play it.
And if that isn't what you want to look at, you could always go look at a boy and his hula hoop. (warning : slightly NSFW)
Or even a message for someone we have yet to meet. For all we know until after the weekend, it's actually a dozen messages, for a dozen different people.
Ceci's already expressed self-awareness, motivation and desire to be her own person, and fear that CentComm would take actions upon their return that would deny that right.
Just remember, Dolly's as much an android as Ceci is. >:)
CEci is not cenctomm. And....As for prince douchbag I doubt he is even CONSIDERING anything inappropriate with lynn right now...remember we left him midd Ass kicking in training. Also I think the lack of high explosives that Centcomm is NOT someone getting a message
who right now is becoming prince PUNCHINGBAG by his guard commander So I doubt He is a real factor or danger to lynn right this very moment..
And Since Dolly prolly suspects Centcomms playing her usual games.....AND deliberately delayed her.. and as she is NOT giving this girl here a Buttload of explosives that would rule out centy as getting any message from Dolly.....well any......direct ones ;)
Ahh, ok. The last sentence was the only part that confused me. However, there might be a message for CentComm letting her know the device was found, which would tell CentComm that either she has a beatdown coming or else needs to clean house a bit
Well Remember Tedee already HEadshotted one of centy's dolls.......
DOlly Wellll....when she makes it back she and lynn and her mother Probally are going to Upload 80 Petabytes worth of.....things Centcomm HATE to her Memeory and force her to listen to Off key KArioke for a month
Why would you do that, Fairport? Your comments will be missed! :-D
Yeah, if I was Mira that would be my response too. Vanish in a puff of smoke, reappear a couple seconds later with a packed suitcase. Ready to go Boss. :-D
I hear there's a certain pleasure droid who's having a hard time recouperating after her ordeal at the hands of a sadistic man - Might be Mira & Minx could have some fun and paint the city red.
Think we can safely figure Minx and her Sir Galahad are both firmly in Centcomm's electronic clutches and anything they see or hear is direct to Centcomm. Plus I think Minx is rather taken with Sir Galahad the injured Cop and would not do anything without him along and one or both have to be with Calliope at all times.
Not sure I agree with you, Dragonrider. I mean, Calliope was keeping secrets from CentComm (Dolly's new body and communications with a mysterious someone as proof of that). So, I'm not sure if either one of them is available for CentComm to 'control'.
CentComm might have done something to them before they arrived; however, it sounded like Ray and Minx came straight to Calliope from the house of horrors. Not a lot of access available there, I suspect.
I think that might be part of the reason Dolly wanted Minx, she wasn't in anybody's pocket. She is an independent operator. Then there is the plus that she owes Dolly (from bits and pieces we the readers have heard) and Minx does have skills (as a Companion) to deal with an emotional Calliope.
Minx is "off the grid" as far as centcomm is concerned and she has zero control of her unknown to Dolly Minx's "criminal" background has made her almost immune to Cents normal methods of control. Dolly picked her because she is loyal to a fault. and yes she is also able to deal with a broken Calli.
Ray is just a genuenly nice guy, For a andriod. He wants to do whats right he is dedicated and holds himself to a very high standard.
Crossing her is folly!
[This doesn't actually reduce the number of suspects...]
But the nicer the accomedations, the more dangerous the mission!

Ray would probably hurt you :D

Also, WE know that Lynn's currently safe, but Dolly doesn't. Remember, the audience tends to get to see more of what's going on than the characters.
