Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:16 AM edit delete reply

thank you so much ! :D
CyberSkull 27th May 2013, 9:24 PM edit delete reply

Is that an override in her hands?
velvetsanity 27th May 2013, 9:46 PM edit delete reply

That is a New Troy Medical Restraining Device. Also known as an inhibitor collar, similar to the one Kelly is required to wear until she's deemed safe to return to a normal life after what she did to that sicko.
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:15 AM edit delete reply

Correct... the new troy device differs from its roma counterpart in many ways. but they both do the same basic function . override the MACC's device thats intrigal to every andriod and most cyborgs.
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 11:26 AM edit delete reply

Surprise surprise, it looks *just* like the one you made in SL :D
plymayer 27th May 2013, 9:36 PM edit delete reply

I'm scared for her.
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:17 AM edit delete reply

I am too..

Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:14 AM edit delete reply

it should.. O_O(
ranger_brianna_new 27th May 2013, 10:22 PM edit delete reply

Hopefully, they're humane enough not to force answers out of her. :(
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:14 AM edit delete reply

this is coverered in upcoming pages .. trust me..
Draginbeard 27th May 2013, 10:52 PM edit delete reply

So maybe we will get some answers!
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:17 AM edit delete reply

yep most likely ..
velvetsanity 27th May 2013, 11:49 PM edit delete reply

Hopefully they won't have to use it, but if they have reason to think the chihuahua might take over (and I suspect Dolly's worried about that, considering that Ceci's a black angel) or that it might be interfering in getting the answers they're looking for, they'll use it.

Keep in mind what it would do to Ceci's development if it forced her to hurt one of them...
ge2org 28th May 2013, 12:30 AM edit delete reply

Uh oh!! Dolly, please think about what you are doing. THIS IS CECI!!!! the same android that thinks of you as a mother so please, think.
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 12:34 AM edit delete reply

Using the restraint on her would prevent the chihuahua from forcing Ceci to do something she'd never forgive herself for, don't forget. Psychological scars can be far far worse than physical ones...

In this case, using it may be far more humane than not.
Rashala 28th May 2013, 12:45 AM edit delete reply

I think its clear Dolly realizes that Ceci and Centy are TWO SEPERATE Person's Though centy buried some stuff in ceci that CEci has told to well shut up...

*glares at Dolly* you hurt on hair on her head and I will...........*will be back with a good oen in a few hours *
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 2:48 AM edit delete reply

Yes, they're two separate people (although in CentComm's case, the designation of "person" might be a bit of a stretch, at least in terms of humanity). However, the chihuahua *has* demonstrated an ability to influence her actions and even take over her body.

And Dolly is aware of it. She knows Ceci had no more clue than she did about Ceci being weaponized.
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:13 AM edit delete reply

you really think Dolly would hurt Ceci out of hand .. for shame.
Antonious 28th May 2013, 5:07 PM edit delete reply
The point about the chihuahua is very valid. If you look back to the powering up of the plasma caster, Ceci was trying to stop it without effect. Clearly some "other" entity had unobstructed control over that function. Only the stand-down of other combatants stopped the powerup cycle. Dolly has a very valid worry about control issues relating to this and all the potential nastiness Centcomm could have placed in deep cover within Ceci. Much of it could be Final Strike Option stuff. I believe Dolly wants to clear her mind of worries about these hazards for BOTH of their sakes. Dolly, I am sure, has seen innumerable entities both silicone and carbon based used in such nefarious ways without their knowledge in her long service.
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 8:03 PM edit delete reply

very good observation "D
ge2org 28th May 2013, 12:48 AM edit delete reply

I guess you're right.
Don B. 28th May 2013, 7:57 AM edit delete reply
Thing is... Dolly is a Guardian, not a Black Angel. Even while she is coming to terms with her new-found independence of action, I can't see her suddenly abandoning her moral framework anytime soon. Okay, that last kick to the head Dari received may not have been strictly necessary, but I gotta say bitch had it coming.
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 7:58 AM edit delete reply

That was another point I wanted to make but didn't think of until I was in the shower just a few minutes ago, Don.
Don B. 28th May 2013, 8:54 AM edit delete reply
Velvet, it was one of your comments that got me thinking about this I can't take all the credit.
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 9:03 AM edit delete reply

Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:13 AM edit delete reply

Oh dari SO did .. I think Dolly paid her back for every hurt Lynn Suffered and some intrest ,..
Don B. 28th May 2013, 10:53 AM edit delete reply
Mira might. She's still something of an unknown quantity. I'm hoping we get to know her better. Having the perspective of growing up in the wastes (at least, I think she did) makes her rather interesting to me.
Don B. 28th May 2013, 10:55 AM edit delete reply
Oops...That reply was meant for CentComs comment below.
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 11:00 AM edit delete reply

Yes ( at Don ) Mira is a wastelander shes never lived in a city ..
Rashala 28th May 2013, 1:35 PM edit delete reply

hurt CEci out of hand......No....hurt that Watchdog if it tried to take over and centcomm if she tries something.......

hell yes in fact I'd HELP dolly hurt watchdog and send him to obedience school...AND Help dolly and tedee recode centcomm into a smart toilet
Mayyday 28th May 2013, 7:50 AM edit delete reply

Uh oh...
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 8:02 AM edit delete reply

I just had a thought. Considering that Dolly has completely rewritten and recompiled her own kernel on an ongoing basis (I'd guess just about any time she had a free moment she would work on it), she might be able to hack the chihuahua on her own if it proves necessary and she can get access/connection O_O
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:12 AM edit delete reply

Dolly no longer possesseses that ability and she could only do it to herself .. she doesnt have the skills to do it otherwise..
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 11:27 AM edit delete reply

And a bit of trivia about the model 5 bodies is revealed! Huzzah! :D
KarToon12 28th May 2013, 8:26 AM edit delete reply

This is either going to end greatly or poorly. D:
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 9:18 AM edit delete reply

isnt that always the truth ..
Dragonrider 28th May 2013, 9:56 AM edit delete reply

Said it before get Ceci to Nova Roma between Lynn, her Boyfriend, and Aeneaus they will be able to sort out the nasties. No Rose doesn't get a vote in that she'd bobby-trap Cecil to mess up Centcomm.
Tokyo Rose 31st May 2013, 2:18 AM edit delete reply

cattservant 28th May 2013, 10:11 AM edit delete reply

Take a 5 day weekend in The Woods and significant things happen. Gee!

[All the smart folks come out and comment too.]
cattservant 28th May 2013, 10:20 AM edit delete reply

My brain is still a bit full of tree gas right now, but it seems that disabling or removing Watchdog would be counterproductive. Wouldn't it be better to reasign it's base loyalty to CeCi?

[There seems to have been considerable cogitating amongst the Commenteers on the subject recently.]
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 11:30 AM edit delete reply

Reprogramming it is definitely preferable, however, given its current mission (delay and distract Dolly from reaching Nova Roma without harming her, preferably indefinitely), disabling it might be necessary. :\

Unless Ceci discovers she has 1337 m@d haxx0r ski11z. :D
Don B. 28th May 2013, 11:51 AM edit delete reply
For some reason, I keep hearing the Impirial March reading this update.
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 2:49 PM edit delete reply

hhee no that comes later :D hehe I do love hearing musical tastes .. ( or possable actors/actresses that could play parts "D
Don B. 28th May 2013, 5:10 PM edit delete reply
I'll defer to you on that one...I think I'm keying it to the sense of foreboding Ceci must be feeling right now. Maybe someone has a better suggestion? If so, I'd like to hear it. I'm kinda curious now.
Hornet 28th May 2013, 12:22 PM edit delete reply
Can an android effectively "hack" itself?
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 2:50 PM edit delete reply

in some ways yes... Kelly did it .. so did Dolly . and Ceci is doing it now..or has been.
velvetsanity 28th May 2013, 3:20 PM edit delete reply

She apparently didn't realize she was doing it, though O_O
Dragonrider 28th May 2013, 5:34 PM edit delete reply

Production comment the texture on the leg looks quite life like in the close-up and looking in panel one at the footwear, this far in the future they still make and wear Keds?
Don B. 28th May 2013, 5:39 PM edit delete reply
Sure, why not? I'll bet they're still selling Converse too... :)
Centcomm 28th May 2013, 8:01 PM edit delete reply

actually the fashion question has come up before and we decided to go with a everything old is new.. theres a lot of good reasons clothing is made the way it is. it works. silly future designs will come and go but a good pair of sneakers and jeans will go a long way. you will see people wearing all kinds of clothing from the jump suits and body armor marcus and silver were wearing to the western style Mister Black prefers ..:D
Don B. 28th May 2013, 8:59 PM edit delete reply
That's what I thought. I have friends who will pay a fairly large amount of cash for a pair of old Converse sneakers. According to them, they are not only stylin', they're really comfortable. Heck, Giscard (Will Smith) in the I, Robot movie thought so too. I forget how far in the future that was supposed to be. Good artistic choice though. A lot of Sci-Fi tends to have everybody looking similar. I'm digging the diversity myself.
Speedy Marsh 10th Nov 2016, 6:40 PM edit delete reply
All the clothing designs from our era will public domain, and probably freely available online.
They probably have their own version of and can 3D print any of the old designs without having to pay for the model, like they would if they got a model from a Nova Troy designer. New designs, of course, would have extra features, like self tying shoes or self fitting sleeves. Also, hi-tech stuff, like sweat chemical testing and automatic defibrillators linked to Search and Rescue.
Every design is probably user rated in a number of categories: Utility, Comfort, Durability, Style, etc.
The materials are probably recyclable, so anyone who has their own 3D printer could print a new outfit every day.
After the Apocalypse, many archaeologists along with members of the open source community probably spent a great deal of time finding old models, or recreating them from artifacts or videos.
Wearing the old designs is not only economical, it also helps the wearer feel a link to the past.

These, of course, are just my guesses as to how things will happen, in the distant future.
JGibs_Evil_Twin 28th May 2013, 6:06 PM edit delete reply

Poor Ceci. She's not having a good day.
cattservant 28th May 2013, 7:54 PM edit delete reply

At least she got a nice shower first...
Chris D 3rd Oct 2015, 3:07 AM edit delete reply
Cici should actually volunteer to have it put on considering the conversations she's been having with herself.
