There will be consequences and repercussions. I don't think Veronica is used to dealing with this kind of fall out. It'll be good for her. Also...First!!! Always wanted to do that.

Bridge seems large for a 5 ton cargo hauler. Especially since it only needs 1 or 2 people to pilot. Or is that so you can get the cameras and lighting in there?
<Yeah, I can be a smart ass some times.>
Centcomm 23rd Jun 2013, 7:10 PM edit delete reply

this craft is a LOT bigger than 5 tons. its a massive cargo hauler.. max crew is 5 and minimum is 1 with automation. :D ( i can work with tight spots , but this thing is just huge ) ^_^
highlander55 23rd Jun 2013, 7:14 PM edit delete reply

I see. I thought it was the NV-Nevarro model.
Centcomm 23rd Jun 2013, 7:20 PM edit delete reply

nope. that thing would fit in the cargo hold though :D
velvetsanity 23rd Jun 2013, 7:28 PM edit delete reply

You wouldn't happen to know where I could get a look at the Nevarro, would you? It was suggested to me for an idea I had and I couldn't find it anywhere.

Back when Mr. Black was inbound to NT I noticed the size of his rig and I would say it was easily as big as four railroad cars in each section. Two side-by-side and another two on top of the first two. If its load capacity per section is similar to RR cars then each section could hold 100 tons. This makes sense as only huge loads of commodities or smaller high luxury loads would be worth transporting great distances.
Centcomm 24th Jun 2013, 3:05 PM edit delete reply

your correct . this craft is about twice as wide and long. the old vehicle could pretty much PARK inside ( sans cargo hauling trailer ) as to the rest yes.. they have been sig zagging accross the wastes dropping and picking up cargo. up to this point.

Success will have its rewards!
velvetsanity 23rd Jun 2013, 7:10 PM edit delete reply

I'm familiar with the model used for the vehicle (LVX-9 Basilisk, I looked at it for an idea I had, it's way too big for what I wanted)...suffice to say, I think the equivalent of a C-5 Galaxy can carry quite a bit more than 5 tons.

I'm sure the beast kept a full copy of the transmission and every keystroke of the doctor's.

If his mere presence failed, he could always utter this line:
"You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with 'til ya understand who's in ruttin' command here." :P

Interesting, she appeals to Marcus for help, when she gets her butt chewed. Poor little rich girl can't beg, buy or bully some people, now go to your room, sulk and plan revenge for the "insult" like the spoiled brat you really are.
Sheela 24th Jun 2013, 6:45 AM edit delete reply

Well, to be fair, he did order her to do it, and he is her superior officer - So he gets to have the responsibility.
velvetsanity 24th Jun 2013, 8:06 AM edit delete reply

Yes, he *does* need to accept responsibility for his part in it...and after reviewing the pages covering their helping of Ceci, he is equally responsible. If he doesn't accept and claim that responsibility, then my opinion of him is dropping a few notches.
Hornet 24th Jun 2013, 6:59 AM edit delete reply
That was kind of shitty of Marcus.
Stormwind13 24th Jun 2013, 10:21 AM edit delete reply

I kind of wonder if Marcus is trying to open the Doctor's eyes a little bit. She seems to think that whatever she does will be fine, especially if she can blame someone else for ALL of it. I mean Marcus did ask her to look at it, but she whipped up the fix and fired it off before anyone could review it, never mind stop it.
So Mr. Black (and Marcus) might be ENJOYING drop kicking Doctor Silver while they can. And making it a lesson that might keep her from endangering them when it is an even more precarious situation later.
velvetsanity 24th Jun 2013, 10:45 AM edit delete reply

Maybe. That's not what it feels like to me, though. My impression is more "I had you look into it, but it's your fault for fixing what I told you to fix". Which is beyond shitty, it's management for "I don't want to get bitched at for giving the orders, bitch at the person doing what they're told"
Stormwind13 24th Jun 2013, 11:07 AM edit delete reply

I can see what you saying, but I get a completely different vibe than you do, Velvet.
I really think it is about Comm Discipline.
Can you imagine if she jumped on something like that in the middle of New Rome? There would have been fire from at least four directions BEFORE the 10 seconds elapsed in that environment. With more coming after the initial rounds painted the target.
She needs to think about consequences not just for herself, but for the entire team. She has been a 'cowboy' for a long time, doing what she wants, how she wants. Now she can't do that.
Kind of shitty, yeah, but necessary for the best chance of survival for the entire team. And doing it this way MIGHT make her think about it the next time (she is SMART after all), as it is humiliating.
velvetsanity 24th Jun 2013, 11:28 AM edit delete reply

Yes, well, also consider that her doing what she did is vital to one of the objectives of their mission (ensuring the safe recovery of Dolly).
Stormwind13 24th Jun 2013, 12:17 PM edit delete reply

Possibly true, though at that distance they don't know for sure how imminent that danger was. And there may have been another way to do what she did (uploading the package) that didn't throw up the flags, but she ignored that possibly and just did what she wanted to.
So she got justifiably whacked for it. Like I said, kind of shitty, but I know some of the military would have done worse to her for that procedural lapse.
Plus they STILL don't know if they are out of the woods or if she has painted a big target on them needlessly.
Protecting Dolly by fixing Ceci is a major objective, granted; however, if she compromises the overall mission by her actions?
And it could (now we might never know) have been totally avoided by checking in first, before assuming (and you know how that breaks out, I'm sure) that whatever she did was fine.

And there, finally caught all the way up reading the comments. Read the comic first then had to go back and reread everything to get all the comments.
Centcomm 24th Jun 2013, 9:34 AM edit delete reply

dont feel bad .. I get lost reading the comments too :D
velvetsanity 24th Jun 2013, 9:55 AM edit delete reply

Now it's time to go back and reread everything again and post your own comments on the older pages! :D

(I did, and Centcomm still reads those comments and sometimes replies)
Stormwind13 24th Jun 2013, 10:12 AM edit delete reply

Oh, I was putting in my 2 creds worth as I worked my way thru them.
And yes, they have been responding to me, sometimes over 2 years after the last post date on things.
cattservant 24th Jun 2013, 12:51 PM edit delete reply
