Yeah. Marcus screwed up too. I was kind of wondering if he would kick himself off the 'bridge' too.
He lost focus on the mission, got locked in on the ONE element (fixing Ceci)... and that could get them killed. Still might in fact.
The difference here is that Marcus realizes his mistake, Princess Pouting doesn't.
Then again, lots of smugglers around who might smuggle data as well - They may still be able to conceal it as something else.
In fact, Marcus might have just the kind of data needed for something like that. Dr Silver might add a little something, something as well that involves noodles. :D
Its not a mater of screwing up or not.. its a mater of I had Dr. Silver do something, and it needed to be done.. the factors that Mr. Black is taking in to consideration are the same ones I did as well.. but deemed it as "acceptable risk" frankly .. we are a very very large target.. and any thing that would be interested in us.. already can see us.. and if they were interested.. they would have already started to nose around.. or will.. better to get this part taken care of.. what was not considered was.. this *IS* his ship more or less and he does have say on what happens on his bridge, an over-site on my part in not letting him know what was going on (in the sense of classified data) and not fully understanding what Dr. Silver was going to need or need to do to get the data to CeCi..(I.E I wasnt aware that Dr. Silver was patched in to the coms on the transport) Mr. Black wants her off the bridge so Him and my self can talk with our her interrupting (wich she is good at) as for beast logging all the data, yes.. that is a very real possibility.. but.. would require a LOT of specialized equipment... and some serious code breaker tech, which he does have access to and then.. he would need to know what he was looking at... in the end all he would get is the morality framework that Dr Silver uploaded.. and a no longer working password.
Well by squawking that way raised your visibility WAY up to anything within a couple hundred miles of you (considering that the signal had to be rock solid for at least 100 miles, distance to Joleet).
People that were just seeing a tramp hauler now might take a GREATER interest in you. Mr. Black is good at misdirecting people, making them see what he wants them to, not what is really there.
The 'good' Doctor cracked Mr. Black's carefully constructed camouflage, maybe.
The brevity of the transmission MIGHT be enough to keep anyone from pinpointing them. No idea how many people have radio tracking equipment up and running, but anyone with it nearby has a decent chance to have gotten a fix on them.
So I think Marcus did screw up, partly through ignorance. Still you shouldn't have been OVERLY surprised by Doctor Silver breezing into disaster, since you know her (and her ego) pretty well. If a star was around, you would be likely having skin peeled from your ears, in my opinion.
Ah well, done is done. If you live, hopefully you learned something. If you don't survive then maybe someone else learns from it.
Yah marcus is a decent person dispite his love of needling Silver. Silver doesnt like to admit mistakes. Black is not someone shes used to dealing with. and Black has a low tolerance for things that might endanger his well being. :D
she actually can not. She does not have a pilot rig , Ada does. that allows interactive links and pretty much makes flying the ship instinctual. although shes used to flying things that are far far more adgle
Well since she was talking bath, then shower and complaining about the small size... I'm guessing they had a stream and bucket to clean up with. I'm sure Silver would LOVE that.
Might have been an underground spring bubbling out and therefore clean; otherwise, maybe they boiled it or ran it thru a still to purify it. Straight out of a surface source though, you are undoubtedly right. It wouldn't be a good idea. :-)
you would be correct ... and yes . congratz your the first one to notice :D although "beast" refers more to the craft ( the one he normal uses. ) and the "persona chip" is a diffrent model. but he still calls it beast. :D
I learned a long time ago (at a bit of personal cost) as you prepare to do what you have been ordered to do, no matter how many options you see in ways to get it done, present your best-case options for accomplishing the Mission and have the Commander choose the one to use.
Since the inviolable rule is that the Commander is responsible for all his/her troops do or fail to do - and may well also have additional options to consider - is to present your plans and go with the one chosen by the Commander.
I have found that the best way to go in Nurse-to-Doctor plans for patients as well.
the Top web comics list resets voting at the end of the month so all comics start at zero votes. Datachasers was as high as 66 and now its been superseeded back to 70. :/
[Or if you can't avoid it, own it!]

( totally serious answer ^_^ )
The rest just thinks they are tied in with Mr. Black. :)
Now a lot of them don't know him by the same NAME, but they do KNOW him. :-D The smart ones probably run away, QUICKLY.
(I was too busy being amused at it having a female avatar and *still* being called 'Beast' LOL)
