Connie "play acting" is the weakest part of the link. black is taking a "calculated" risk. hes been here before and knows what to expect. you cna bet he will stack the deck as much as possable.
I know Androids can't be reprogrammed... but can they implement new subroutines voluntarily? Seems to be that doc whiny britches should be able to whip up a very convincing simulation for Connie.
That is a nice shirt, not sure it is nice for being out in the FIELD, but it looks good on Connie. :-) Not sure about the pattern, but hardly noticed that on Connie. :-D
And is that liquid courage that Connie is imbibing? :-D She seems calmer coming in than when she last left the bridge.
Does he drink blood? Like goats? If he doesn't, I doubt he is a Chupacabra. :-) Since I haven't seen any sign of those habits, I kind of doubt he is that.
As for the chimp, I havne't seen him walking around on all four limbs, so kind of doubt he is that either. :-D
Ah, I had a feeling he would step in and ensure the odds would be in his favor. This is a guy who knows how to get past most (if not all) current electronic barriers, coming up with a passable dummy inhibitor, would be right up his alley.
Im also thinking he has a contingency plan, and a secondary to back that up, all of which still make a profit at the end of the day.
I don't think Mr. Black will double cross anyone he cares for or respects.
Now, planning for someone ELSE trying to double crossing HIM, I expect he does all the time. And if those plans go into effect, someone is going to be crying if they are lucky. If they aren't lucky, they will be faceplanted on the ground.
Mr. Black is NOT someone to screw around with. :-) If you treat him with respect and 'fairly' (for a given value of FAIR known to wastelanders), he will do the same.
I can't see it. He might run a con that made it SEEM like it; however, I imagine Mr. Black would have a plan in play to pull whomever he seemed to set up before it all fell into the crapper.
He has too much integrity to screw over those he respects, in my opinion. Now if you ever give him cause to NOT respect you, kiss your butt goodbye. Mr. Black will take your ass to the cleaners and laugh on the way to the bank.
When will our fearless tour leader let the rest of the ship in on his multiple identities, big problem there if he meets the wrong person at the wrong time. (Every time I comment on something he does I'm tempted to use the old Kingston Trio Song Title, "The Reverend Mr. Black")
I still have faith in the fake. It's Connie remembering that she's supposed to be under it's influence and not reformatting the first guard to be rude that I have doubts about.
When doesn't it get awkward when dealing with people trying to get one over on other people? It doesn't matter what the reason good or evil it's still awkward. Difference is when its evil the people doing it usually are so accustomed to acting in that manner it doesn't bother them like it does us.
Dragon, that made me think of a button I have. Went and dug it out.
"Essentially we're two of a kind. We're both scheming, conniving, treacherous, back-stabbing fiends who would readily sell our mother's last working kidney for buck. What separates us, however, is that I'm holding this .357 and you're not." :-D
Bullets are ancient tech sort of like arrow heads we use now. But red High Top sneakers was a bit of a surprise, at least it wasn't Judy Jetson boots for Connie.
Mr. Black and Connie make a good team, because they respect each other, treat each others as equals, and pull their own weight. He won't stand for her to be unequally yoked, by a working inhibitor.
Mr. Black doesn't argue with you, he lets you have your say and then does what he thinks is right! :-D

:D
Connie looks like someone who just had a CeCi length shower.
[Square cans! 10W-30?]
I would have thought him more of an orangotang or Lemur than an ape
maybe a CHupacabre?

He treats Connie with decency and is concerned about her.
I guess she is quite relieved. (And I sure hope he will not doublecross her..)
*hugs Connie* she seems to need one

Black would never put poor Connie through that!!!
. . . that got awkward quick, didn't it.

I think the First Circuit would approve.
