Mule control via applied two-by-four.
Don B. 21st Aug 2013, 6:06 PM edit delete reply
Yoink!? OK, that's funny. It's about time somebody called TeeDee on her bullshit. I like her but she has been getting more and more out of control. Maybe she'll learn to stop and think for a moment in non-critical situations instead of turning them INTO critical situations. One can hope anyway...
Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 6:27 PM edit delete reply

Stopping, TeeDee? Are you CRAZY, Don? Not only is she not stopping, but she isn't even remotely interested in THINKING right now.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 5:54 AM edit delete reply

Well, the wall slowed her down a little bit.
But yeah, she's not too much into the thinking bit right now.
cattservant 21st Aug 2013, 6:10 PM edit delete reply

Well now, that's efficiency for you.
Interrupt two fights with one birdie!
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:24 AM edit delete reply

Looks like The Pride of Roma just took a reality check.
Dr Silver looks like shes a mix of annoyed and surprised.
And Ada looks like she's about to take a combat stance.

Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 6:14 PM edit delete reply

I was laughing at the sound effects and Marcus' comment (coming through indeed), Rose. :-D Thank you for the laughs.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 2:44 PM edit delete reply

she is awesome :D (Rose that is.. )
highlander55 21st Aug 2013, 6:15 PM edit delete reply

LMAO with *YOINK*. Brit looks to be making a hasty exit stage left.
Woman in red finally makes a close up. and the other 4 are like WTF??!
See the bar keep with her hands in the air too! I like how Silver can only say SHIT as Teedee goes flying by. Excellent way to defuse both issues Centcomm!
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:17 AM edit delete reply

hehe i try :D
Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 6:16 PM edit delete reply

And the Lady In Red gets a speaking part. Now what is her REAL game? Because of the evil CentComm, she has to be up to SOMETHING besides just getting a drink. :-D
highlander55 21st Aug 2013, 6:57 PM edit delete reply

She may be a local and this is the most excitement thing she's seen here in a while.
Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 7:27 PM edit delete reply

It may be the most excitement, and she is probably local, but I wonder if she has OTHER motives. :-)
Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 7:56 PM edit delete reply

And does she remind anyone of anyone ELSE in the comic? She has a familiar look to me, but I'm not sure of who right now. And I'm probably too tired to chase it down tonight. :-)
cattservant 21st Aug 2013, 9:22 PM edit delete reply

She has a familial resemblance to Lynn Taylor.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:16 AM edit delete reply

good lord .. she does? her face is nothing like Lynns ( even when she was a v3 model ) :P
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:17 AM edit delete reply

its proably because shes one of the "extras" i use for background people they generally have less polys than the " main cast" and are a bit more limited >_<
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:57 PM edit delete reply

Ah, that would explain it. I know I've seen a face shaped like that before, somewhere in the comic. Just didn't remember where exactly. :-)
Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 6:17 PM edit delete reply

Alright, Marcus is in trouble now. He didn't use enough postage for that package!!! :-D
highlander55 21st Aug 2013, 6:19 PM edit delete reply

Now is when Marcus will command all out in line march. Hup 2 3 4 double time!
Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 6:26 PM edit delete reply

Shore leave is cancelled. Get your butts in gear and DOUBLE time back to the ship! :-D
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:00 AM edit delete reply

Hup, two, three, four.
Keep it up, two, three, four.

TeeDee even have the haircut to be the little elephant at the back - How very fitting. :)
Don B. 21st Aug 2013, 6:39 PM edit delete reply
I said MAYBE she'll learn and one could hope...right now I expect she's gonna get the spanking she deserves. She's a ticking time bomb that needs to be defused before they get to Roma. Carrying on like this there will likely result in killing them all. Even she should be able to see that but at the moment her vision is obscured by the red haze of seething anger. She can't go on like this.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:52 AM edit delete reply

You're absolutely right about that ... she *should* be able to see it.
And that is the main issue here, I think.
highlander55 21st Aug 2013, 6:40 PM edit delete reply

Hey, Teedee made quite an impression with the locals didn't she? At least in the wall anyways.
cattservant 21st Aug 2013, 6:43 PM edit delete reply

All in all,
Just another butt in the wall...
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:01 AM edit delete reply

She made a butt impression on the wall .. or in the wall, as it were. :D
Mister Black 21st Aug 2013, 6:43 PM edit delete reply

Thank you for listening to KWLR, your number one Waste Lands news authority!

Wastelands forecast for today: Clear this morning, with low radiation counts through the evening. Cloudy this afternoon with a 65% chance of scattered patrons....
Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 6:48 PM edit delete reply

LOL! The other 35% being too drunk to run, Mr. Black? :-D
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:01 AM edit delete reply

The other 35% being a red paste on the floor.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 10:16 AM edit delete reply

LOL - good one..
highlander55 21st Aug 2013, 7:04 PM edit delete reply

I hope Ada had the camera going on her Googlish Glasses and gets to show Teedee later.
After Mr Blacks forecast it would be, " And here is a Lucky Strike patron flying no class to a solid landing".
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:03 AM edit delete reply

Showing TeeDee how unreasonable she was ?
That might actually help .. a little.

Nothing humbles a person more than knowing that they themselves, were complete assholes.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 10:16 AM edit delete reply

Oh trust me if TD survives this little Tiff .. Ada will never let her forget it.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 10:47 AM edit delete reply

I was thinking of having Ada show TeeDee a video of how badly she behaved.
JustNoPoint 21st Aug 2013, 7:14 PM edit delete reply

You know. A good bar fight might actually make TeeDee feel better. Win or lose.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:04 AM edit delete reply

Well, she certainly have some rage that needs to get out.

Basically, she hasn't had time to work out her stress, anger and emotions - And they're kinda short on time. so here's Marcus's crash course in learning how to behave. ... oh behave. XD
JustNoPoint 22nd Aug 2013, 6:12 AM edit delete reply

Oh I should also point out that the name of the page should be "coming through" shouldn't it?

Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:06 AM edit delete reply

Yes it did .. but only just barely.
Stormwind13 21st Aug 2013, 7:49 PM edit delete reply

The expressions of Dr. Silver, Ada, Goldie and even Connie are well done. They convey their emotions quite well. :-)

And I like the shadow being cast onto the Doctor. Is that her own hand or something from Ada? :-)
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:09 AM edit delete reply

the shadow on silver is silvers own hand actually as for the emotions *bows*
Rashala 21st Aug 2013, 8:38 PM edit delete reply

Yep, the prettiest little tank since Bonaparte.
velvetsanity 21st Aug 2013, 9:30 PM edit delete reply

Bonaparte *was* a cutie <3

...and now I have the opening theme stuck in my head :D

o/` tank police! feel the power that we got! tank police! we'll give it our best shot! o/`
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:13 AM edit delete reply

Are we talking about this one? :
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:08 AM edit delete reply

that would be the one :D
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 10:34 AM edit delete reply

Ah .. I haven't actually seen that anime - Is it any good ?
Don B. 22nd Aug 2013, 11:38 AM edit delete reply
I haven't seen it in a while but if memory was pretty good. ***Qualifier*** Sometimes something I really liked back in the day doesn't hold up now. I can't remember all of the anime I've seen over the years (and that's a LOT of anime), but I actually remember this one fondly.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 11:40 AM edit delete reply

I reckon I might give it a try then. :)
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 11:42 AM edit delete reply

one thing .. Tank police is very tounge firmly in cheek. it has its moments but is mostly a comedy disguised as serious.
CyberSkull 22nd Aug 2013, 5:06 PM edit delete reply

The Tank Police anime is pretty good, but the manga is quite better. Masamune Shirow's manga are all really good, but they suffer from mostly disappointing adaptations (Ghost in the Shell turns out great, but Appleseed gets continually screwed over in anime adaptations).
pistkitty 21st Aug 2013, 11:38 PM edit delete reply
Thrown upside down, lands heads up; well there's your problem, someone clearly spliced in some cat dna, those things are notoriously moody. Place your bets on who notices first she *broke the frikkin wall* and didn't even get the wind knocked out of her.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:14 AM edit delete reply

I think the wall noticed it already. :)
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:08 AM edit delete reply

TD wasnt "static" in the air she was changing her own postion in flight :D
velvetsanity 22nd Aug 2013, 4:10 PM edit delete reply

Maybe she's distantly related to Anna and Uni Puma?
Sleel 22nd Aug 2013, 12:27 AM edit delete reply

So.... Marcus have some cyber augs? That is a pretty hefty toss for a one arm, full extended flip. Not like she is gonna be all that light. Not like she is the waif she looks like. Density and all that.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:07 AM edit delete reply

Marcus is reenforced and augmented though out his body.
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:17 PM edit delete reply

Well Marcus is listed at 5'-10" and 290 pounds (which is at LEAST 100 pounds heavier than expected). While TeeDee is listed 5'-4" and 150 pounds.

That is a HE!! of a throw for one arm, and the target not adding their momentum into the throw.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 2:43 PM edit delete reply

yep .. Its basicly a flat throw. and it didnt wind Marcus at all to do it.
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:47 PM edit delete reply

Which is BEYOND impressive. I mean, gah.

That throw was like it was throwing a piece of paper away or something. Not the kind of throw someone SHOULD need to toss a person away!!!
Draginbeard 22nd Aug 2013, 12:51 AM edit delete reply

Two possible problems l see here. First would be if TeeDee flips her stack and jumps in after Marcus.

She has been itching to cut loose for a while, and since she could care less if this body (which she already hates) takes some damage, which Im guessing from how Marcus Rag-dolled her across the room, can dish out, this would be the opportunity she has been looking for.

The second and most immediate (as pistkitty mentioned) is if anyone in the bar notices the lack of actual damage TeeDee sustains from slamming into said wall. My understanding is this body is military grade durable. No normal is going to get up from that kind of impact, not easily at any rate.

Personally, I hope this ends the fight and knocks some respect into her. But that could just be wishful thinking on my part.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:19 AM edit delete reply

I suspect that enough undesirables have illegal body mods, that someone getting up from a toss like that is nothing to be surprised about.

Offcourse, while her small size makes it easier to toss her about, it also mean she impacts stuff with less force, since she's relatively light, which makes it a case of good news/bad news for her and for Marcus.

I'm thinking that the physical aspect of this fight will be less important than the mental part.

Also, we don't know if Marcus had some sort of command override that he can stop TeeDee with, but it's considered *really rude* to use. Y'know, as in so bad that she's rather loose a limb or two.
Draginbeard 22nd Aug 2013, 6:33 AM edit delete reply

Mmmm body mod or not, to the casual observer, TeeDee is small enough to toss, sure, but look at the impact again. Thats kind of a big deal. When she gets up from that without so much as a scratch, the casual bar fly may just go WTF?

This is the kind of thing that gets talked about...

"You see that dude throw that chick at the wall at LS last night? Man, she went clean through and into the street!"

"She dusted herself off and charged right back in, it was total carnage, man!"

Or something. You know how stories get retold.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 6:40 AM edit delete reply

Oh I have no doubt they'll take notice.
Heck, people will take notice of anything, even a poodle.
But at the same time, such a thing may happen often enough that it's nothing too surprising.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:06 AM edit delete reply

wow .. good convo.. couple of points.
the wall he threw her at is plaster covered dura-crete, it cracked the plaster but didnt really do much to the Dura-crete behind it ( shes not THAT heavy ) Marcus is strong enough to flip a standard car over front to back TD is also that strong, her bones are re-enforced and she is armored under that cute cuddly exteriour. technicly BOTH of them are tanks. ( also smaller point of impact more force directed at stationary object )
Draginbeard 22nd Aug 2013, 8:51 AM edit delete reply

I didn't think she went through the wall, I was just adding in how the story might be retold.

It does look like that impact could easily be felt around the room. Plaster tends to make a huge mess, so it probably looks even worse that it is.

My point to Sheela though is, even if this sort of thing happens a lot, from the looks of this bar, it doesn't happen in Lucky Stikes often, or we would see evidence of past dust ups they didn't have time to remodel.

I have seen (back in my younger days) my share of incidents. Violence takes many shapes; guns, knives, fists, crowds, ect ect.

Getting physically thrown across the entire room... well, THAT will definitely make an impression with everyone present. Not to mention the wall and the body that hit it.

Add to her coming out just fine, all the loud, angry talk about humans vs. deceiving androids, someone is going to put 1 and 69 together, and get the right answer.
Don B. 22nd Aug 2013, 9:22 AM edit delete reply
Um, whatever happens I don't think TeeDee will come out of this unscathed. Her skin, at least, can be cut and bruised and I thinking that she can bleed too. her hands took some damage from the punching bag after all. I'm unsure of how much time has passed since that and her hands appear healed now. Also...while her skeleton may be extremely strong, the JOINTS may be a weak spot able to be dislocated by someone who knows what they're doing. I'd say Marcus is fully capable to do so.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 10:18 AM edit delete reply

at Don - Yes yes ... and yes..
Draginbeard 22nd Aug 2013, 2:53 PM edit delete reply

Don, I'm basing my 'No Damage' evaluation off the last panel. TeeDee's system registered the impact and reported "Damage: Negligible"

I dont know if that means there will be no damage at all, or nothing to hinder a response to the attack.

Her hands were bruised from what I presumed was a prolonged, rigorous bout with the punching bag. I wouldn't think a couple of hits would leave any dramatic signs.

I could be wrong though.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 3:08 PM edit delete reply

actually your totally right Dragin you totally made your perception check :D
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 10:18 AM edit delete reply

actually in the discussions - TD DID go though the bar window and out side.. but as i designed Ahta that became a moot point. and yes three will be talk .. trust me.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 10:44 AM edit delete reply

Good points, and I agree with most of them.

A couple of things though - Repairing things, once you have advanced robots available, becomes pretty much a trivial task, and can be done during early daytime while noone is there. Even fairly extensive damage can be fixed if one have the money.

Now, obviously, people will figure out that what we have here is a pissed off android, or a massively augmented human .. and that might not be such an unusual sight .. at all.

I think the more unusual part, is that Marcus still looks human, which speaks of high dollar augments. Gutters and creepers would probably have less sophisticated augmentations, and might look less human. ie. they'd have arms, but no skin on them, because they had to save money.

I'm thinking that in the seedier part of Datachaser's society, getting underground mods is fairly easy, if expensive. So augmented humans will be fairly common ... I'm thinking that it's the degree to which both Marcus and TeeDee is augmented without showing it, that will stand out.

... uhmm ...

I might be rambling now.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 11:39 AM edit delete reply

actually.. you are dead on wastelander mods are often chomed or left "bare metal" or plastic - Zophia from breakers had a lower end prosthetic arm. Marcus has TOP of the line military grade Cyberwear designed to not draw attention if hes not doing anything. and yes Ada fixed up TDs hands in a matter of moments.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 11:42 AM edit delete reply

I wasn't thinking so much of TeeDee's hand being fixed, as I was thinking about the wall.

But I reckon the same rule of thumb applies - Advanced robotics makes it trivial.
Don B. 22nd Aug 2013, 11:46 AM edit delete reply
Also good points...but I don't think that it's beyond possibilty that there are a few that CAN afford this kinda thing. While still unusual, it could just mean that these people are very successful at what they do. Of course that could still raise questions as to what, exactly, it is that they do...
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 12:01 PM edit delete reply

Bullying .. they're doing bullying.
Y'know, Protection rackets and that kind of thing.

Imagine someone walking up to Marcus & TeeDee and say "Nice barge, it would be a shame if something were to happen to it." :D
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:12 PM edit delete reply

Don, they do things that people wish no one HAD to do... and they are VERY good at it. :-D

And are you brave enough to walk up to them and ASK about what they do? When they both turn flat stares on you, do you stay with your question or run for your life? :-D
hrwilliams 22nd Aug 2013, 5:25 AM edit delete reply

Your characters have really good body language. Usually that's a problem with these sorts of comics. Keep up the good work!
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:02 AM edit delete reply

actually body launguage is "part" of charcter interaction. its not just a issue in CGI comics - other comics have that issue too - ( good ones dont have that issue :D ) thank you so much for the compliment...
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 10:45 AM edit delete reply

True, but it often shows more in CGI comics.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 11:41 AM edit delete reply

again thats because most of them have no basis in 2d art and or anatomy. and sadly most of todays animation ( the popular ones sometimes dont even bother with real anatomy. useing noodle bodys.
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 11:45 AM edit delete reply

Yes, but there's other reasons too.

Example : When you close your fist,. muscles contract and begins to bulge in your fingers, , but in 3D animation, they don't, so you end up with space between the fingers even when they are making a fist .. which never happens in real life.

Unless your fingers are freakish thin.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 11:52 AM edit delete reply

this is why most of the models i have - have scripts attached that bulge areas as they bend and sometimes I alter it in postwork or on the fly using lots of diffrent methods. :D and i try to ALWAYS remember to close that gap on fists.. sometimes I forget though. considering im doing around 20 to 50 renders a day. >_<
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 12:02 PM edit delete reply

Scripts can only get you so far though.
But they sure do help.
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:08 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, a lot of CGI though are just slap and paste. You WORK at it though, and it shows in the quality of the product. :-)
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 2:41 PM edit delete reply

thank you so much I do try ..
KarToon12 22nd Aug 2013, 6:55 AM edit delete reply

I wish I was that strong to do something like that. I think my bully problems would've ended LONG ago had I been able to pull stuff like that. XD
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 7:03 AM edit delete reply

oh yes - I hear you there Kartoon :D it is a bit hard on property though *looks at the cracked wall*
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 10:46 AM edit delete reply

Yes, well .. now imagine your bullies with that kind of strength ?
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 11:39 AM edit delete reply

Ahhhh !
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 11:46 AM edit delete reply

Gets worse ... because who's the most likely to go and get a strength enhanching augmentation ?
The bully, or the nice guy ?
There's a reason why bullies are usually portrayed as jocks.

Edit :
Ack, my mind just thought that Cyberware Augmentations add a new dimension to the word "cyberbullying" ... and then I realized that there could be Cyberware .. Genitalia !

Combine the two concepts for maximum ick !
velvetsanity 22nd Aug 2013, 1:41 PM edit delete reply

Sheela, that line of thinking leads to horribly broken game systems like Cyberpunk 2020 :P

That game actually *had* those kinds of cyberware...
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 1:46 PM edit delete reply

Never played that game.
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:06 PM edit delete reply

Cyberpunk 2020 had its moments, but a lot of the things were better suited as SUGGESTIONS than gospel. :-D

Wound up playing Cyberspace more than that one. That is the game that I would have used for Datachasers.

I think CentComm said they used Spacemaster though to run the campaign. Probably a LOT of similarities between the two since both were ICE systems.
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 2:16 PM edit delete reply

I did mention Rolemaster-
I actually Spacemaster as well as "privateer" and some Cyberspace books all are ICE products. and they are pretty much all the same system with Spacemaster at the core. now we modified the rules quite a bit to make things simpler. I did consider a host of other games .. including Cyberpunk ( original ) and even Mechwarrior , Top Secret SI , and a few others.

the Datachasers game was first tried using Hero 5th ed. but it didnt give the flavor I wanted.

For fantasy ( what staff and sword is ) I played Rolemaster in a custom world..
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:28 PM edit delete reply

Hero 5th works well where people aren't meant to die. If you need any realism though, it is NOT the game system to use. :-D It is designed to imitate comic books and it did that. :-D

I really never got into Rolemaster. Played AD&D from way back though. And it was an adjusted system too. Did away with a lot of things the groups didn't want to deal with. :-)
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 2:40 PM edit delete reply

nods at Storm exactly
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:32 PM edit delete reply

True, Sheela but remember while God made all mankind, Smith & Wesson made them all EQUAL. :-D
Sheela 22nd Aug 2013, 3:57 PM edit delete reply

Ah, but Kalashnikov killed off both Smith & Wesson, and as for God, the internet is having a stab at getting him too.
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 4:18 PM edit delete reply

LOL Sheela.
mjkj 22nd Aug 2013, 2:35 PM edit delete reply

Wow, poor TeeDee, but somehow she deserved and/or needed it.

I guess goldie will think twice (at least) before trying to attack Dr. Silver now...
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 2:41 PM edit delete reply

goldie is getting a few lessons on "little fish" "BIG fish"
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:44 PM edit delete reply

I think it might be Goldie is going to get the feeling that BAIT gets when the sharks are circling. :-D
mjkj 22nd Aug 2013, 2:55 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, that is an even better analogy.
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 2:42 PM edit delete reply

If Goldie is capable OF thought, mjkj. :-D

I mean, she knows that the Doctor is backed by (and backing) an android which is SUPPOSED to be stronger than a person. Then Marcus shows off, she might decide to leave before the android (Connie) shows Goldie what she is capable of (which is nothing like Marcus is capable of!). :-D
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 2:52 PM edit delete reply

Connie had enhanced speed and a Little bit of enhanced strength ( simply by having a artifical skeleton and Musculature and Nervous system ) but shes totally a lightweight. one thing thats common Knowlage is the NTAS standard ( meaning most all andriods by default are conditioned against violence ) however lots of them totally ignore any such nonsense *points at Teedee.*
mjkj 22nd Aug 2013, 2:54 PM edit delete reply

*lol* so true
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 3:07 PM edit delete reply

Wonder if Goldie learned that though, CentComm. Kind of clashes with the blood thirsty image that Goldie was portraying ('It is truly a terrible thing to carry so much blood on your hands.' also 'And then you take advantage of our unawariness, spies, thieves, killers of children.').

Somehow, I think Goldie might have missed that class, CentComm. :-D
Centcomm 22nd Aug 2013, 3:10 PM edit delete reply

its more " she felt she could safely vent her "dislike" on a target that wouldnt fight back - she pegged Connie as a weaker person kids have that skill all the time. they seem to carry around a giant "pick on me sign"
Stormwind13 22nd Aug 2013, 3:16 PM edit delete reply
