My computer had a NICE surprise for me today it totally stopped working LUCKLY the person im livng with is going to take it to the repair shop sooo we shall see - I sooo DO not need this headache
*eyerolls at Tedee* Suuure humans are useless meatbags....But when tedee needs to enter an area with a Massive Electro mag field in it that would scrable her processors Who does she call then
Most of Teedee's ranting has been done around Ada. I feel sorry for anyone who lacks at least one friend around whom they can say ANYTHING without worrying about whether it'll change how the other person perceives them. A fly on the wall around Terri and me would think that I am the most hateful person in every conceivable way upon the face of the earth. I say shit about race, gender, sexuality, religion, politics, and so on in such a way that I sound as if I'm a complete psychopath with a vocabulary like a trucker. I am, in fact, not a psychopath. (I do still have the vocabulary, though.)
One thing that seems to be overlooked is that Teedee and Ada are in Search & Rescue, and have been for quite some time. Try talking to long-time members of a fire department, police department, EMT squad, or hospital staff. When your entire career is spent dealing with the messy, tragic, awful results of mortal stupidity or sadistic fate, you either develop a coping strategy or you don't last long in that line of work. I would personally be kind of uneasy around anyone who could remain entirely unaffected after, say, picking a child piecemeal out of the remnants of a vehicle because some asshole decided they weren't too drunk to drive.
that is a EXcellent comparison Rose, and yes Krissy is one of THE only people i can say anything at all without fear shes going to get offended or hateful. and its that kind of LONG term friendship you are seeing here TD and Ada are the kind of friends that WILL help you move a body or confess to a crime to protect the other. :D
Seems like a lot of readers or at least commenters here are either current or former military, first responders, LEOs or some other security functionary or have just seen enough "shit that makes you go 'HUH??!!" to need a non-destructive coping skill to wind down. My default is bitterly sarcastic humour and creative cursing, directed mostly at things I have no control over but still need to vent upon, which is why I like TeeDee and Tokyo Rose and a few players to be named later (no spoilers, I hope)so much and can identify a little with them.
I think we find strips like this with a fast paced plot and intense but still humorous scenes like we just witnessed cathartic to an extent and it's the sort of thing we NEED to laugh at, because quite frankly "it ain't hearts and flowers out there and watching some other poor schmuck deal with it, even in a cartoon makes me feel that much better"
Congratulations to all involved for taking a really good stab at the effects on the mental processes of your characters from living in a 'completely off the wall' but still relatable world and making us enjoy it.
I don't know what sources or experiences you're drawing upon but it works and it works well. It brings me, at least, a little stress relief and that's always a good thing.
Meh. Don't like Teedee, never have. I guess it's actually an endorsement of the writing that I care at all. At least she's trying for Ada's sake, and has gone from "complete liability" to "possible asset"
OT: Since CentComm and many others here like other webcomics also, here are two of my most favorite and some of the very first webcomics I read:
o Terinu
o Alien Dice
I've been reading those for a long time too, mjkj. :-D
I just wish Peta hadn't fallen off the planet for 5 years though. And now we are just getting BACK to the really interesting part of Terinu as they reload. :-p
Tiffany has a little bit of trouble staying on schedule. Real life intrudes sometimes, but it can be a little frustrating for the readers. :-)
While re-reading this for the 30th or 40th time I just realized something.
Cent Comm has a sense of humor.
TeeDee will get back and find out her custom Hexaflow body was "lost", something about Cent Comm having a damaged Doll and she requisitioned TeeDee's replacement body for her use.
And TeeDee will find herself stuck in her current body for a while longer than she thought.
As funny as it would be watching TeeDee disintegrate more dolls in retaliation, I don't think Cent-Comm would go quite that far... While she ultimately has much, much more leverage, TeeDee is probably too valuable as an asset to do something to her that will make her loose it entirely.
Very nice layouts on this page. Also, Ada's facial expressions are extremely well done. All of it is but those two panels in particular really made me go 'wow.'
...still waiting for the hugs.
But at least TeeDee made Ada giggle.
They put Trouble
In it's Places!
I really like the expressions for Ada in the last two pages. There is such life in her its almost tangible.
and actually Datachasers Andriods are pretty much immune to high EM fields. they might feel a little funny but it wont hurt them.

On a more serious note, I don't think psychopaths generally sound more hateful than other people. Hate is not the issue.

Thanks
Wait, no, wrong context...
My hand smells weird
*comforts*
I hope that it is nothing severe.
...but if worst comes to worse - you would not need to ship it anymore...
I hope no data was lost.
o Terinu
o Alien Dice
Enjoy.

Frankly, that might the first time ever we see her showing any goodwill.
