Yeah, I'm not much into such things. Relationships (to me) should be partnerships, which means equals (to me). I have no desire to dominate or be dominated in a relationship.
Now if people enjoy that stuff, more power to them. Just not MY thing. :-)
Until joining the readership of Datachasers I had never heard of City of Heroes. Even now I am not big into video games as I only play Diablo (Diablo, Diablo II, D2 Lord of Destruction and Diablo III) and WoW. Even so, what I have learned of CoH makes the video very moving. I am so glad that someone is able to take the ideals of the game and restore life to them. Such a transition reminds me of the story line of a series of stories by Kristina Tracer called "Beautiful World" http://nail.prismaticmedia.com/category/settings/irokai/beautiful-world/ .
You missed out, Antonious. City Of Heroes was something special. Hoping that City of Titans comes even CLOSE to CoH (unlike Champions Online, Marvel Heroes or DC Universe Online). If it does I'll take it, though I'll never forgive NCSoft for killing CoH off.
actually Mercedes lackey, Stephen King and Neil gaiman offered a LOT of money to Nsoft to outright BUY the game and they refused to even discuss it and yes those are ALL authors... and they all played City of heros ...
Tracy Hickman (a little known author :-D) also played.
Also Douglas Shuler (artist) played and did works based on characters in City of Heroes. In fact, if you look down in the digital gallery, you can SEE some of them still. :-)
And Sheldon Cooper, Phd (The Big Bang Theory), had the game on his shelf and some of the memorabilia up in the apartment. I understand that Jim Parsons played, but I never ran into him.
I know there were other celebrities that played City of Heroes, but I can't remember who they all were. And with the forums gone, I can't look it up. :-(
It smoked the total with nearly 4 weeks LEFT on the clock. Now has passed at least the first STRETCH goal too. I'm hoping for some more stretch goals. If you have money that you can kick in and want something like City Of Heroes back, kick into the Kickstarter. :-)
Did you only play on the British servers, Sheela? I had character there when they (FINALLY) opened them up. I didn't play too often over there though. What was your favorite character... and favorite AT? :-) Mine was Controller and I had a BUNCH of them, though I think I would have loved my Earth/Rad on Guardian if I could have finished pushing to 50th level.

Detections Detecting.
In the Eye of the Mind,
Reflections Reflecting.
Looks like they are planning on calling the game, City of Titans. So if you (still) want to be a hero, get in on the kickstarter! :-)
Link City of heros Remains
Gives one the sense of what one lost for sure. And I want it BACK.
*throws creditcard at kickstarter*
:D

There's a good chance they'll get enough then. :)
