as far as software - Marcus is working in tandem with me on resolving issues - reposting this from him.
Marcus : "the 3 tb drive will show up as a 2.3tb drive and a 700gb drive.... drive is odd..this happens under MBR, when set up as GPT drive.. it shows as a full drive.. but.. windows can not install to a gpt drive.... so.. back to the drawing board... ... will format as 2 drives and get centcom back up.. (im in baltimore this week) if you have any questions.. feel free to msg me at marchande@gmail.com and Ill explain more if need be. "
MBR can't work with more than 2TiB drives (2.199TB) - GPT should work in theory, but only a (U)EFI motherboard (in uefi mode) can boot from a GPT drive. (And only on a 64 bit windows vista or newer).
If the above conditions are met, windows SHOULD install/boot from a GPT drive (I haven't tried it myself yet).
Sadly...The computer doesn't meet the requirements....so... will get the o's installed on the 2 to partition..and use some software to do the rest...primary concern is to get the comic files back up and running
Bummer. The most elegant solution would probably be to boot from a <=2TiB drive and still format the new drive as GPT - that should be relatively safe and most things can be installed / keep their data on unusual locations. Real hacks like this, tend to be messy and prone to unexpected behavior. (I'd be extra paranoid about possible data loss)
Hrm .. should almost have bought two drives, one smaller one for the OS and basic stuff,. and then the 3 TB drive purely as a secondary, non-bootable, drive, just for data.
That would have made all the boot issues a moot point.
Offcourse, one does not know if Centy has the money for that.
Actually, Cent's been running with a 1TB as a boot drive since this all went down. DAZ Studio SHOULD, at least in theory, be able to access its data from anywhere, but there are problems with some of the scene and character files that use the Genesis figure; I suspect Cent might just need to reinstall Genesis so DAZ knows exactly where to get the data.
It appears that DAZ is fucktarded when it comes to some things.. also im useing the latest version of DAZ studio and that seems a bit more fucktarded than the previous versions in some ways ..
But it handles light and shadow and shaders MUCH better than the previous versions
Marcus will be taking over the system to fix something else today.
Murphy was an optimist, opportunist and whateverist that gives him omnipotentency to cause grief. CentComm, Rose, Marcus, in fact everyone watch your sixes.
I joined Second life last night. Said hello to CentComm and friended her. Within 5 min after I signed out of 2nd Life Murphy who followed me from my contact with CentComm blew my video card a kiss. A kiss of death.
That drunken Irish bastard killed my video card and I have to hope the one I ordered with next day shipping gets here and works in time for this weekend's Extra Life gaming marathon that I am supposed to participate in.
The corollary to Murphy's law is that the more you prepare, and the more contingency plans you have in place, the less Murphy's law hurts you.
I've always thought of Murphy as a kind goddess, but one who understands that sometimes-ok, with humans most of the time-you have to use pain to teach certain lessons.

I'm still slightly perturbed by the fact that we're climbing the rankings at remarkable velocity ever since we STOPPED updating regularly due to moving/computer fuckery. It's like they're trying to tell us something ;)
Is it up yet ?
Hrmm ... might as vote for them while I'm checking in

In short, people keep checking in to see if it's up and running again. Nothing like a bit of drama to keep people interested .. hence why all the hollywood actors have such dramatic lives ... all. the. time.
Just found this comic (and the spin-offs) yesterday and stayed up all night reading it. I'm about to start again from the beginning. You folks do excellent work!
A question if I could? Who is the gentleman with the black powder pistol in the last installment of Staff and Sword? I'd really like to see more. Thank you.
ANd you all have heard me talk abuot my eye problem. Wanna know how bad it is in terms you can see for yourself? Post Sure rash as a reply to this :)

Used to be the case with some old CRT monitors too.
Basically it's a chemical in some types of plastic that either has to be baked before assembly, to get rid of the odor, or stored until the odor diddipates on it's own - which normally takes about 3-4 weeks.
This is also a well known issue in new car interiors and cheap packaging plastics .. which can smell positively foul !

...poor Galina though...
Well, I think that update should have been at LunaStar...
EDIT: Or not, because apparently I don't have management capability over on Luna Star. ::gives Cent a Look::

Ugh, that must be uncomfortable.
