So yes this is a real thing - and any dontations will help your friendly Artist person not to starve at the con!
I am particularly pleased with this section, in that I think we managed to capture the way little kids can ask questions that range from the profound to the illogical. Often from one sentence to the next. I also think we conveyed that Dolly is totally used to fielding these questions with a minimum of "Because" (or "Because I Said So").
Well, that is the way a child looks at it. And Dolly being the obedient guardian, she will do everything in her power to follow her charge's commands. :-)
Well there is always stowing away... I mean it worked for the little boy that went to Vegas (so I'm wondering just how LITTLE he really was... Midget cosplaying as a child? :-D) Or maybe he just wanted away from Minneapolis. :-)
So you as a puppy could probably sneak on a plane and get there. :-) And if you acted cute enough, they might not even object to your presence when they found you. :-)
Shes actually 12 .. ( if i did my math right. ) However based on research girls can start developing around that age.. I did try to minimise it but the dress was made for a older charcter and didnt quite size perfectly :D
There are a hormone imbalance that can make girls develop at any age, which is pretty freaky.
Most *normal* girls, start to develop tenderly around 9-10 years of age and up to around 13, most will be fairly well developed around that time though, as nature intends them to have their first child around 15-16 years of age.
Most parents balk at that thought, which is hilarious as I knew several friends with girls in that age range - They're fun to tease. :D
from what I was able to tell 12 isnt a bad period to have development begin same with her facial shape and other factors. ( there is a surprising amount of medical data on how we age )
I think you hit the look pretty well: I was thinking "she must be around 12", before I went back to check the date...
The dialogue on the other hand doesn't really fit: the way she is asking these questions here, makes her appear several years younger mentally. (Which is why I went back to check the date...)
Well, 38C is somewhat unusual, but far from unprecedented.
After all, if she started growing breasts around 9 or so, she'd have 2 years to grow those, which is a lot of time during that growth period - A lot happens during puperty.
Aeneas whispers : "Hello, Hello ... Goodbye, Goodbye."
Aeneas whispers : "Your life is short ... and then you die!"
Aeneas whispers : "But I was here ... all the time!"
Let me add my voice to the praise. Great job on the child dialogue, Rose. It really felt... real. Unfortunately I do have something to gauge it against. Remembering a little bit from when my uncle died and left his 5 boys devastated (7 to 15). :-7
A bittersweet moment, showing not only Lynn coming to terms with death but bonding with Dolly. Her questions seem (from an adult perspective) to leapfrog all over the place, but it's clear they have a logic to *her*.
Dolly's responses are great; not sugarcoating anything (well, not much), but being supportive and unpatronizing. Even if she seems a little uncomfortable, her devotion and honesty are clear, to us and Lynn.
oh yeah - as Most New Troy citizens in her situation ( her family being very technicly minded and brilliant ) shes got a great chance to excell...
as for Dolly shes always been a practical person and she cares for the Taylor family VERY much and loves the girls shes raised as much as if she really was there mother. ( although she wished Cali would take more of a hand in Lynns childhood.. but done is done. )
Yeah, but I think this is going a little different way from that. I think it is setting up WHY Calliope is going to react the way she does. And how much she TRUSTS Dolly, and kind of why (though we don't see the fight vs. the gutters).
Centy - would you forgive me for the following 2 points?
1. The fact that I'm about a year-and-a-half late in commenting due to the fact that I started my CD binge this week; and
2. Having FAR too much blood in my coffee system and reading your "In the words of the person facilitating my going to the con..." as "going to the CAN..." and then having said coffee spew onto my monitor... lol
Alas, I live on the other side of the big pond, so not going there myself.
Sadly, I don't have the time off to get there. I would LOVE to get to Phoenix, and get out of the deep freeze. :-p

Why is it that they all have to be on the other side of that big pond ... *sighs*
Which reminds me that little Lynn do have them, so .. 10 year's old or more ?

Goodbye Goodbye

Little Lynn is so cute and adorable <3 *hugs her* especially in that last panel ... and she has such beautiful eyes...
Wow, Dolly really knows what to say...
...especially to difficult questions like these.
*lol* those answers from Dolly are great :D >>I will endeavor to follow that command<< *lol*
(great page, Cent, and great dialogue, Rose...)

Years ago, i announced that no more of my friends were allowed to die before i do.
Back about last July, a dear friend defied my wishes.
And you're going to have a table at a Con? Congrats! :D
