Dolly took Dari prisoner. She was being held in a cell at the trading post. Mira did not bring Dari to New Troy (at least it was not talked about). I can not believe Dolly would take her to Nova Rome. So what happened to Dari?
Centcomm 27th Feb 2014, 2:40 PM edit delete reply

Dari's fate will be revealed once we cut back to Dolly and Ceci :D
Stormwind13 27th Jun 2014, 4:43 PM edit delete reply

RavenHawk... what you are forgetting that there is a BOUNTY on Dari in Nova Roma (per Rotter, 28 June 2012 - Directives).

Dolly is probably going to drag Dari back to Nova Roma to collect the bounty. Which should be Dolly and CeCi's pass to get into the Palace. Where Lynn is SUPPOSEDLY being held. :-D
Dragonrider 25th Feb 2014, 9:04 PM edit delete reply

Krap in the kitchens, I hope she relents, Think Douchie-Poo is gonna be somewhat subdued for a while.

Question with all the advances in power distribution communication wouldn't they have gotten ride of power poles, power lines and phone lines years before the anti android revolution? Also I realize they aren't into EPA and OSHA, good republicans that they are, but still isn't is a bit dangerous to have those oversize, looks like the Rail Tank, taking off and flying among the close confines of those buildings regardless of propulsion type?
Centcomm 25th Feb 2014, 9:11 PM edit delete reply

nope . they are still in use in roma and in many many many parts of the wastes..
velvetsanity 26th Feb 2014, 7:39 AM edit delete reply

Maintenance is easier when the lines are on poles than it is with the lines underground.
Sheela 26th Feb 2014, 10:35 AM edit delete reply

Actually having a degree in this, I can say this is only partically true, as undeground lines are less affected by the weather. So while the initial costs may be higher, the long term is not ... well, if it's done correctly to begin with - Try and save money on lesser quality, and costs will go *way* up. When you work on underground installations of .. well, ANYTHING ... you want quality first and foremost.

Well, at least for tele communications.
Especially if you get into optical lines.

That said, if you have something like, say, a temporary building space, lines will often run on poles scross streets, and may run for a few streets from the building site to the power outtake.
Centcomm 26th Feb 2014, 12:20 PM edit delete reply

above ground lines also foster rapid growth.. Roma has both above and below ground wires :D
Sheela 26th Feb 2014, 12:35 PM edit delete reply

Only good for rapid growth in the early growth stages, in later stages, air lines will actually hinder further growth.

A few pictures illustrates why :
Wires in the air when done right.
Nice and easy to find out where they come from and where they're going.
Easy !

Not quite as well done, but still allright.
Not too hard to figure out.

Oh dear.

And then compare it to a cable like this :

And the answer to what is best in the long run should be obvious. :)
Dragonrider 26th Feb 2014, 1:32 PM edit delete reply

How did you get the pic of Beijing, that looks like the area south of The Russian Market looked 20 years ago.
Centcomm 26th Feb 2014, 3:01 PM edit delete reply

really cool pics sheela but perhaps just links would be better considering the size of them >_<
Tokyo Rose 26th Feb 2014, 2:21 PM edit delete reply

Let's just be honest here. We don't build our own sets, props, or figures; they're assembled out of what we can get, often awesomely retextured up the wazoo. We wanted Nova Roma to have a run-down look in some areas, and a "modern day" skid-row set just worked best for it. Those cables could be actual power/comm lines, "relic" ones that are no longer used but just haven't been removed yet, or just decorative gibbets for all we care. :D
velvetsanity 27th Feb 2014, 2:36 PM edit delete reply

Aerial lines may often require *more* maintenance, but maintenance on underground lines is more involved and complicated, unless it's set up with easily accesible service and maintenance tunnels that let workers follow the lines from one end all the way to the other without having to find alternate routes (such as going up to street level to bypass an inaccessible section). And I think that's fairly rare outside of cities like New York. Most places just can't afford the expense, or the politicians are too busy lining their pockets, to pay the expense of setting up such tunnels.

In those pics, the really horrible one (wiring-wise) looks like probably India (or possibly Bangladesh), judging from the writing on the signs. Where are the other two pics of?
Sheela 27th Feb 2014, 4:01 PM edit delete reply

Somewhere in vietnam I think.

And it's true that on a per case basis, underground cables are more expensive, but they make up for it in much fewer cases of repairs, if they're done right.
cattservant 25th Feb 2014, 9:07 PM edit delete reply

Tokyo Rose 26th Feb 2014, 2:13 PM edit delete reply

highlander55 26th Feb 2014, 5:13 PM edit delete reply

Sheela 26th Feb 2014, 10:42 AM edit delete reply

What ? Karma for the douchebag ?

I can just see it, douchebag at his table, a cassian (maybe the one with humor?) with papers in her hand and Maxus directing Sergia to "spill" wine on his papers to make them even harder to decipher, and then Maxus punishes douchebag everytime he gets it wrong.
Centcomm 26th Feb 2014, 12:21 PM edit delete reply

*dies laughing*
Rashala 26th Feb 2014, 5:32 PM edit delete reply

Karma = The Tofu mush for his ACting!
mjkj 26th Feb 2014, 1:06 AM edit delete reply

Great, Ellis is only pretending *is glad for Reiko*

Poor Sergia *hugs her* I hope she will survive that whole ordeal...

PS: I like that first aid poster there :)
Centcomm 26th Feb 2014, 12:22 PM edit delete reply

yep - Ellis is one of Roses :D

Also the poster actually has full lettering - and explains where medical kits are AND who the primary contact is for First aid..
mjkj 26th Feb 2014, 4:50 PM edit delete reply Latin - I saw it. Well, not all since the resolution hampered me...
Centcomm 26th Feb 2014, 9:27 PM edit delete reply

ahh didnt know how it would survive the shrinking
mjkj 27th Feb 2014, 2:02 AM edit delete reply

Yeah the shrinking is contrary to the readability. The big letters are fine though...

Tokyo Rose 26th Feb 2014, 2:13 PM edit delete reply

Tofu is ALWAYS gross.
Centcomm 26th Feb 2014, 3:03 PM edit delete reply

is staying away from the strange stuff!
Dragonrider 26th Feb 2014, 3:09 PM edit delete reply

Does that mean you don't want a Tofurger with cheese for supper?
velvetsanity 26th Feb 2014, 4:03 PM edit delete reply

Whether it's gross or not depends on how it's prepared and the dish it's in
cattservant 26th Feb 2014, 5:47 PM edit delete reply

And how hungry you are...
Mister Black 26th Feb 2014, 4:34 PM edit delete reply

Trust me. Things are *always* what they seem. Would I lie?

Sheela 26th Feb 2014, 5:49 PM edit delete reply

Johninaustin 26th Feb 2014, 8:49 PM edit delete reply
I won't lie,the first time I saw those round tofu patties at an old GF's house I thought it was some sort of funky pan scrubber. I had no idea people ATE the things.
Highlander55 27th Feb 2014, 5:03 AM edit delete reply
Funky pan scrubber- Hmmm... That might, I say might give it some flavor!
velvetsanity 27th Feb 2014, 2:42 PM edit delete reply

Tofu burgers are horrible, definitely. But as part of a dish like, say, sukiyaki, it's not bad.
